Now correct me if im really mistaken somehow, but this is the market to qualify, now if i were to put on these amounts:

£10 200 on Arsenal at 1.78 wins: £18 100
£7 650 on Bayern at 2.37 wins: £18 130

Stake= £17 850
Returns= £18 100/£18 130

You cant actually lose.. one of them will go through and you definietley win money, or so i think? Am i missing something here?

Now only those with lots of money will probably benefit, which means i probably wont benefit that much- but those with large sums of cash could stock up.

keep your 20 grand in your pocket christianu. The 1.78 is at betfair, so unless you bet big figures you'll be subject 5% commission which may wipe out your profit.

Also, you must be wary of 'palpable errors' when arbing like this. I think you'd be ok here as the price is not very far out of line with other bookies.
However, imagin how you'd feel if you'd staked £10200 at betfair and 7650 at SJ, the SJ phone you up and say 'Sorry that price was wrong, you can have it at the new price or we can void your bet, thus ruining your life'

Another issue is whether a book is willing to accommodate such a sum of money. Anyway a 1% arb is too narrow to bother.

Cheers guys for the feedback, i couldnt see where i was going wrong, considering commision it doesnt work out. I didnt part with any money and i wish i had 20 grand, i have about 20 quid. Thought it was too easy and simple to be true just wanted to make sure, thanks for letting me know

Arbs like this do appear many hundreds of times per day christianu on various events. Most are less than 2% though, so unless you have large sums available or bet on many of these arbs, it's hard to make much from them.

There are many websites you can pay to find the arbs for you, or you can write your own program in Java or similar to find them for you. As someone said, got to be careful with commission on exchanges or bookmaker limits
