Viduka suspended for first two Boro games (Newcastle home and Arsenal away)

No sign of Malcolm Christie in Boro friendlies suggests he has not recovered from his broken leg (end of Oct 2003).

Andrew Davies reserve centre half at Boro (broken leg March) will not be ready for start of the season.

Rest of Boro squad is OK at present, which makes a big change from last season, when they struggled to put a team out at the beginning of the season, witness disastrous start.
