This is where I will be doing most of my betting this season, as my team is playing here im afraid, and I will get to see all the teams in action. I think this league is a "leave well alone" league until we see the form, any one of about 7 teams can win it, or at least get automatic promotion. Ok if I was pushed, i'd probably got for Rushden to beat Kidderminster - gut feeling only, which is usually correct

Anyone got any thoughts on Orient? Didnt they pick up a bit last season and were not bad at home? I like Scunthorpe at home to Rochdale who's wheels came off a bit the last two seasons. I aint done any reading up on my fav English division but all thoughts appreciated.

I found this section a difficult proposition Ante Post and the same goes first day. Some attractive fixtures in Notts C v Chester, Swansea v Northampton and the much hyped Boston v Oxford. Several weeks back earmarked Bristol Rovers as possible value to win at Mansfield, but it may take a while for Ian Atkins boys to settle, plus the 4/1 I was after just wasn't there. As recommeneded Ante Post feel Kidderminster could be weak this year which might offer encouragement to Rushden backers, while Lincoln are a strong street wise team who will possibly go closer than Ladbrokes 7/4 on offer for the trip to returning new boys Shrewsbury. Will see plenty of these teams over the next few weeks so plenty of time to fill the boots. Recommendation No Bet FA

Have to agree about Lincoln. They should have too much, although this isn't the best day of the season to back them. Quite fancy a sell of Shrewsbury's mini performance on the spreads with Sporting as it strikes me this match has red card potential. Another possible is Grimsby at Darlington. Blue Sq are going 8/5. They have had a fairly big turnover of players - which means they may take a few weeks of competitive football to gel - but they have enough to blunt a poor home attack. A very speculative punt is Mark Greaves to score anytime for Boston v Oxford at 16/1. This centre half is a presence at set pieces and a cool head in the box, has played well and notched a couple of times pre-season, and has been employed in midfield before. Oxford are no longer a defensive rock - a high scoring draw could be on the cards. Worth a small stake, I reckon. Has Mark Wright just left Chester? What happened there?

Wright leaves Chester Wright had been in charge of Chester for two-and-a-half years Manager Mark Wright has left League Two newcomers Chester City after two-and-a-half years in charge - just a day before the start of the new season. The former England international defender confirmed his departure, but would not make any further comment. Wright, who has also managed Oxford, took over at City in January 2002 and led them to promotion from the Conference last season. Assistant manager Dave Moss is also thought to have left the Deva Stadium. The ex-Macclesfield boss only took over as Wright's assistant at the end of May. Chester begin their League Two campaign at Notts County on Saturday. Nice start to the season...... ![]()

Darlington Vs. Grimsby As a Darlington season ticket holder, I thought I would give my opinions on this game. Although I didnt get to any pre season friendlies, ive been told thats its not looking very good at all. We have lost our main striker in Barry Conlon to Barnsley and have failed to bring in any proper strikers which will likely leave us a strike line including a winger Neil Wainwright and Craig Russell who couldnt even make our first eleven last season. We have signed Curtis Flemming whose experience should be a great addition and stregthen an all ready decent defence (still majorly missing a goalkeeper) but it looks like another season of bottom half football. Grimsby fans are optimistic after being relegated last season and have made some good signings, one being Micheal Reddy of Sunderland. Its not a game to be betting on I dont think. I would price Grimsby up as slight favorites but a bigger than average home crowd could hopefully play a part. Craig Liddle @ 33/1 for first goalscorer is always a big value bet however. Plays at centre back but is the target man for set peices and got a goal in pre season. I would expect him to be taking any penalties also. Might have a little nibble.
