Wigan 18.00?? That's a bit harsh surely!

Although it does look like they are heading back to reality a touch now.

Early thoughts, Fulham look a decent price against a struggling Birmingham side looking very low on confidence. Also I don't think the 1.95 will be around long for Bolton. Just beaten Arsenal at home, on a great run, and Villa are hardly setting the prem alight.

Agree Paul, 18's is a bit harsh - especially against a team who have never lost at Stamford Bridge! Played 2, won 1, drawn 1, lost 0 - though those games were a few years ago!

Seriosuly though , reckon were worth a stab at that price. Yep weve lost our last 3 games, against 'better' opposition, but weve also made mistakes that have helped us to those defeats. Cut out the mistakes and, well, you never know! If Chelsea underestimate us as they did on the 1st day of the season, and we play the same high tempo, then - as an outside bet - were well worth consideration.

Okay back to reality - were gonna get battered!

For me the 3 main teams, Chelsea, L'pool, and Utd will walk it this weekend - in fact you can probably throw Arsenal in there too as they're playing a poor Newcastle team.

I think Newcastle will get some kind of a results against Arsenal. Souness under a lot of pressure and needs to start winning some and Arsenal's away form is poor. I don't know if Owen is back for Newcastle? if he is I think a draw or maybe Newcastle could just edge it out. Will be interesting to see the team news nearer the time.

The 2.02 for Arsenal looks interesting, I thought Newcastle were lucky at home to Villa in their last game. If Arsenal get in front, the Newcastle fans will turn nasty on their own team. There is alot of bad feeling up at St James Park.

Chelsea look a little off the boil of late a lay on them at 1.23 is not a daft bet, maybe the draw is better value.

Thats a pretty big price for Everton to beat Man Utd.

Not suggesting id put a lot on it but its worth a small wager.Man Utd will have a tough match tonight(wed)and Everton are out of the early season rut.

Im sure Everton will be right up for this game and in Arteta they have a real class player who can turn any game.

reality check for me!

1) sunderland present Charlton with the ideal opportunity to start getting their home record to match their away record.

2) wigan have been great this season - against bottom half sides. The gulf between the top 3/4 and the also rans is big enough nevermind those teams playing championship football last year. Wigan were simply unlucky not to take a point from Chelsea on the opening day but I cannot see Mourinho allowing complancency into the game following Wigans previous performance.

3) after a 2-1 defeat to benfica, man utd are gonna need to turn in a good result against a team that are still struggling to get up to speed and also struggling to score. Add in Rooney's personal involvement......

with Bolton, Liverpool and Arsenal (over 2.00!!), a good weekend is being dangled in front of us. I would argue that AT LEAST 4 of the above will come in.

I don't normally bet on west ham due to if west ham lose then I'm pi**ed off on 2 accounts because they have lost and I lost money
BUT
On this occasion, west ham at 4.10 to beat Blackburn does give me something to think about. We are a couple of places above Blackburn and winning on the first day of the season 3-1 at Upton Park against them must give west ham a slight upper hand, plus coming a victory away from home on Monday night we hope to be at full confidence regardless of the opposition or a very boring performance by both teams.

I think west ham at 4.10 is a little high and worth looking at

Entirely correct, Artetas our best player. However - hes suspended for 1 match and thats the Man U match so he wont be playing Add to that possible absentees Martyn (our other best player) and Cahill and its a bit ropey. But I do agree that is a big price, but I think if you can get 4/1 on a draw that would be more likely. We havent won at Old Trafford in the premiership yet.

Well no arteta il just leave it then.

I was thinking Utd are not great in the middle of the park and he could have made the difference.

Maybe yer right at 4s the value could be in the draw.

Main bet of the weekend has to be Arsenal at 2.00

Okay so they lost away at Bolton last week. The difference being Bolton, are a solid, hard to beat side, Newcastle on the other hand are in disarray atm. Wenger said after the game, it was one of the worst performance's since he's been at the club, so he clearly was not happy, and will be looking for them to bounce back strong. Last night the gunners may have only drew 0-0, but it was a nothing game and many of the first teamers were rested. If Villa can pick up a point and nearly take all 3 against Newcastle, Arsenal can certainly take all 3.

19 year old Taylor is now the linch-pin of Newcastle's back 4. He remains injured, so the chuckle brothers (Bramble & Boumsong) will remain at the back against Henry and "an on fire" Van Persie.

In midfield, Dyer misses out, as will N'Zogbia, Luque's still not match fit and Emre is likely to miss out too. And most importantly it is looking unlikely that Owen will play either, so where are the goals gonna come from?

Be warned, I'm having a mare with my PL selections atm, but surely Arsenal have to win this one!?

Birmingham -0.25 (2.11) @ Pointbet

I think this is the chance for Birmingham to finally get their first home win of the season after what has been a truely dredful start to the season for them. Fulham play good football, nice passing game with good attacking players, but i think that they are also a team that are suspect at the back, and if Birmingham are going to stay up this season, and improve on their terrible form then this is the kind of match that they must simply win. The price on this handicap is a little to big IMO, and one would expect around evens. Worth a 5/10 shot.

Arsenal -0.5 (2.00) @ Canbet

Another bet here in the Premiership that's got to be at least worth a shot is Arsenal away at Newcastle. Arsenal must be well over 50% favourites here, making Canbet's price on the handicap line very good indeed. Arsenal can afford no more slip ups in the Premiership, and now with the CL group stage over i can see them going on a good run over the festive period. Newcastle for me are looking pretty poor. They have attacking options, but their defending at times is woeful, and will find it hard to cope with the quality Arsenal have. Another 5/10 shot here.

I'd avoid the spurs game altogether, just to play it safe!

arsenal are definately worth your money this week though-IMO!
they lost at bolton primarily because of bolton new boy faye! -who looks like being every bit as good a ball winner as viera ever was! and even with him henry hit the post twice! and they could have grabbed a point!-[however undeserved!]

the two at the back for newcastle can't keep tripping over their own feet forever and as time is passing they "should" start to develop some understanding! but with henry arsenal should still have too much!
and add to that the newcastle crowd being more hindrance than help and newcastle with only the fiery but ancient shearer to hit up front!!!!! I think you see my point!

this is the best price you're gunna' see fer' the gunners for a long time so jump on board whilst you can that's my advice!
