Default Re: England - Premiership (1st/2nd Jan)

Newcastle - Manchester Utd

Newcastle lost last two matches against Bolton 2:1 and Everton 3:0. They had strong performances before those games , but the things are not the same in team now. On last match against Everton they were without lot of players and some of the rest were not on their usual positions. They’ve lost another player against Everton , Peter Ramage is new injured player in team. So, today they will be without lot of standard players , especially in defensive line and I do not see how they will find adequate substitutions. On injured players list are : Ramage, Moore, Babayaro, Bramble , Moore , Harper and also long term injured Owen , Ameobi, Bernard , N’Zogbia . So, Roeder will have to chose between:

Squad: Given, Srnicek, Taylor, Huntington, Edgar, Solano, Butt, Milner, Emre, Dyer, Parker, Duff, Pattison, Sibierski, Martins, Luque

Manchester United have excellent season like in their best days. They look strong , motivated and “hungry “ for points. Their strength comes from great defensive line and finish with ,top form Ronaldo, all under perfect Ferguson management. Good news for team is come back of Gary Neville in team so Manchester will be with full strength today.

Squad: Van der Sar, Kuczczak, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Heinze, O’Shea, Silvestre, Carrick, Fletcher, Ronaldo, Park, Saha, Giggs, Rooney, Solskjaer.

Definitely , Manchester is strong favorite today . Traditionally , they have good results against Newcastle and I do not see any reason why today should be different . Manchester Utd AH -0.5 (1.59 @ 10bet), or Manchester Utd AH -0.75 (1.81 @ 10bet). I will go for AH-0.75 this time .

Pick: Manchester Utd AH -0.75
Stake 10/10
1.81 @ 10bet

Default Re: England - Premiership (1st/2nd Jan)

Premiership
Fulham v Watford
Fulham, Betfiar @ 2.02
Fulham have shown in their last two game that they have a never die attitude as they have come back late on versus Charlton and Chelsea. They have had two hard away games but they have not had to travel as both games where in London so they may not be as tired as expected. Watford had game abandoned after about 55mins so they should be fresher than Fulham.
Watford have poor away form and I think they may just lose this one by one goal.
Portsmouth v Tottenham
Tottenham (Lay), Betfair @ 3.3
Tottenham have very poor away form and have only won one away game v Man City. Pompey have great home record and should have Kanu and Andy Cole upfront which today. Spurs are missing King at the back and this may mean they can’t hold an inform Pompey.
Newcastle v Manchester United
Manchester United, Betfair @ 1.61
Man United as enjoying their football at the moment and Ronaldo is on fire. Man U rested players like Saha for last game and Vidic and Scholes should be back.
Newcastle have good home form recently and they play good football with flair players like Dyer, Martins, Milner, Solano, Emre which will suit Man U as they can play their free flowing football. Newcastle have injury crisis in defence and have only one fit defender and may have to play Nicky Butt in defence so they will struggle against Man U attack.
United to win MAX Stake

Default Re: England - Premiership (1st/2nd Jan)

These are my selections for the New Years day prem action.

Game 1: Liverpool v Bolton - (Both teams to score)

Liverpool are very strong at home and have consistently scored plenty of goals at Anfield, and they should have no probs scoring against a tired Bolton side who are likely to be unchanged from their game over the weekend. Also, with the impressive partnership of Bellamy and Kuyt, they will cause the Bolton defense plenty of probs...... on the other hand, 2 former l'pool players in diouf and anelka have been on exceptional form lately and i believe are one of the major factors in Bolton's success this season, esp anelka who has scored 7 goals in his last 8 games and who also has a habit of scoring against his former teams, i.e. arsenal. liverpool.

Game 2: Portsmouth v Tottenham - (Over 2.5)

This market offers more value than the both teams to score and i feel that if there were to be more than 2 goals, then both teams would have to score. Portsmouth have a very good home record, where they have won 7 out of their last 10 games at home and are scoring plenty of goals in the process, esp kanu who will be fresh after being rested over the w'end......on the other hand, tottenham will be looking to win this game as their lost their home fixture against l'pool on sat. Berbatov will be returning to the side, and as a result, the in form defoe looks more dangerous when he is playing with the guile of berbatov alongside him. Both these teams play an attacking style of football so expect quite a few goals.

Game 3: Reading v West Ham (Reading to win)

This is a very good price for two teams with contrasting form. Reading at home are very good, whereas W.Ham are losing matches both home and away. It seems like it's gonna take time for curbishley to refine his squad, so at the present moment in time, they are there for the beating.

Reading this season are the W.Ham of last season, it seems that they are capable of beating anyone at home, & even earning a hard fought draw away to the champions, & were unlucky to face a man u side who are red hot at the moment.

W.Ham were not even able to beat m.city at home, a team that are notoriously known as bad travellers, so i dont fancy their chances here against an all out attacking side like reading.

i believe that the reason the price is high for this match is because of the fact that reading had 2 difficult matches against the top 2 teams in the country, and believe me they will be looking forward to playing this match and earning three important home points.

Game 4: Newcastle v Man Utd - (Over 2.5 Goals/Rooney to score anytime)

At the moment Man utd are playing same of the best football that they have played in years. It seems that they have players who can score goals from all over the pitch, especially the red hot Ronaldo, who has scored 6 goals in his last 3 games, 10 goals overall . Add to that the fact that Newcastle only have 1 fit central defender in S.Taylor, with the other centre back likely to be nicky butt, who is inexperienced and out of his depth against the form of man u. scholes, vidic, g.neville all return for united.

i feel that n'castle have enough quality in their attacking 1/3 to score a goal at home, with the likes of dyer & martins playin well, which will mean that man u will have to get at least two goals to win the game, which they will do.

This is a good price from bet365 for rooney to score against newcastle. There is no other team that rooney likes to play against than n'castle, where he always seems to score against them. He was unlucky not to get his hat trick last season against n'castle, in a game which involved his classy chip over given after a mistake made by ramage, and this time there is only 1 recognised centre back to contend with in s.taylor.

also, rooney has not scored for a while now and he is due a goal, and he will fancy his chances against an inexperienced back four. Rooney to take the headlines from ronaldo.

Game 5: M'Boro v Sheff Utd - (M'Boro to win)

M'boro should prove to be too strong for sheff utd at home. It is their away form that has let them down. With players like yakubu and viduka as your strikeforce, it is obvious that they have match winners in their team. M'boro even beat chelsea at the riverside, the only side 2 beat them this season... on the other hand, sheff utd may find that playing 2 games in 2 days is a bit too much for their small squad esp as their number 1 keeper paddy kenny is out, aswell as their num 2 keeper ian bennett missing, the third choice keeper paul gerrard will have 2 play his first game in 8 months.

Arca should return for boro...

M'boro 2 win no probs.

Good luck guys.....

Reading, Betfair @ 2.16
Despite win v Man U in Curbishley West ham have not really looked any better than before. They just can’t score and I can’t see them scoring at the Madjeski stadium. After playing top sides recently reading should return to wining ways against Westham as they will score and Westham cant reply.

I am going to go against everyone....West Ham to beat Reading. It would be typical WHU to go out and get a win today.

West Ham can not serious play any worse then the last 2 games and maybe away from Upton Park may get the players a little less like sunday league players (sorry to any sunday league players here trying to compere you to those lots in Claret & Blue).

But i do see WHU coming away with a win today and TEVEZ getting his first goal.

Wigan have several key players out including key striker Camara and their main creative force in McCulloch who is still suspended. Scharner is likely to be missing for a few weeks and that is a blow defensively. Blackburn will be full strngth and come here off the back of 2 morale boosting wins vs Liverpool and Mboro. They can come away with something here.

Also i feel the price on Everton to beat Man City is good...... I feel Man City where not a very confident side on Sat and played some poor football in a very poor game - and it was not all WHU doing in that.

Everton are coming off a 3-0 win on Sat and i feel the pace of Everton forwards (Except Bettie) may be a problem for Man City today.

0-1 to Everton. Neville to score the goal.

Reading v West Ham

West Ham travel here needing a win but are in such poor form that even with tempting odds that they simply must be avoided. Instead, I think that goals will happen here and Betfair go a tempting 1.44 for the 2 or more goals Market. Reading WILL score, perhaps more than once but I really do fancy WHU to get 1 too.. All in all...1.44 is a cracking price for 2 or more

Reading v West Ham 2 or more goals @ 1.44 Betfair (£278 available)

Everton have really hit some form since the return of injury hit Arteta and Johnson and were impressive in their 3-0 victory over Newcastle at the weekend. Although Man City are coming into this with a 1-0 victory at West ham under their belt, it was a poor game which looked a cert for 0-0 even as soon as half time. They again miss Joey Barton who is their driving force in midfield and I really fancy Everton to come away from this with something.

I can see a 1-1 draw from the Portsmouth vs Spurs game. 2 team coming off defeats on Sat but both very good football teams this season and one defeat will not take the confidence away from their seasons.

I can see Spurs taking a 0-1 lead into HT and a Mendes goal (ex-spurs) to get a point for Pompey. I feel Mendes was fancastic against WHU on boxing day and may do some damage today.

Also Sean Davies (another ex-spurs) to get Man Of The Match.

I am going to go with a 0-0 at the Boro vs Sheffield Utd Game. Boring with both defences on top form. It has 0-0 written all over it.

Sheffield Utd would be happy to come away from a point away from Home and Whenever i see Boro and attack like WHU seems too hard to master.

anyone watched 1st half Liverpool vs Bolton?

I look at stat website it gives Pool 8 shots 2 on goal and Bolton none!
ironically the same site says Pool saves 4 and bolton 3 ??

in terms of pocession pool is dominating average 55%

Pool to win at betfair now is at 1.94 - 1.96. any advice?

will Stevie produce a moment of magic and pool to win 1-0 as in Man City match in Anfield?
