Liverpool - Middlesbrough

In 12 home games Liverpool receive only 2 goals in first half. In last 9 first halves Liverpool receive just 1 goal. They score goal in first half 7 times. Middlesbrough score just 4 goals in first half as visitor and receive 8. Middlesbrough didn't receive goal in first half in their last 7 games - so for me this is very long series for team with such defence.

Default Re: England - Premier League (Feb 23-25)

Birmingham v Arsenal ko 12:45
Birmingham will be boosted by the return of joint top scorer Olivier Kapo for the Saturday lunchtime visit of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The former Juventus player missed the 1-1 draw at West Ham a fortnight ago while serving a one-game ban for incurring five bookings.
Blues boss Alex McLeish admits he is still searching for the right combination upfront with Garry O'Connor, Cameron Jerome and Mikael Forssell all in contention to partner James McFadden. But he will take heart from City's 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium last month as his side search for their first win since Boxing Day.
After last weekend’s 4-0 drubbing to Man Utd in the FA Cup, Arsenal will be determined to get over that defeat straight away, and they will have their chance at St. Andrews on Saturday. The Gunners were dreadful in their FA Cup fifth round tie at Old Trafford. All of the Arsenal team were awful, with dependable players such as Fabregas and Gallas looking totally off their game. The last time Birmingham faced Arsenal, they came away from the Emirates Stadium with a very respectable point. On that occasion, some great saves from Maik Taylor combined with resolute defending from Liam Ridgewell and Co ensured Birmingham held on for a 1-1 draw. Given the Blues need points desperately to starve off the threat of relegation, a repeat of that result would be welcome. Considering Arsenal’s league form this season, bookies have priced them as favourites for this match, with Betterbet offering 8/15 on a win, while Birmingham have been priced at 6/1 Vcbet to upset the rulebook and get all 3 points.

H2H's
2008-01-12 Arsenal 1-1 Birmingham
2006-02-04 Birmingham 0-2 Arsenal
2005-10-02 Arsenal 1-0 Birmingham
2005-05-15 Birmingham 2-1 Arsenal
2004-12-04 Arsenal 3-0 Birmingham
2004-05-01 Arsenal 0-0 Birmingham
2003-11-22 Birmingham 0-3 Arsenal
2003-01-12 Birmingham 0-4 Arsenal
2002-08-18 Arsenal 2-0 Birmingham

Arsenal 1-0 win.

Default Re: England - Premier League (Feb 23-25)

Fulham v West Ham
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has to decide whether to reintroduce captain Brian McBride to the starting line-up for the visit of West Ham. The U.S. striker has made two recent substitute appearances following a long-term knee injury and could be ready to start against the Hammers.

Hameur Bouazza's expected return could end Clint Dempsey's hopes of a return to the side and also squeeze out Diomansy Kamara - while another American, Eddie Johnson, is pressing for a place after three reserve appearances since his move from Kansas City.
Fit-again Aaron Hughes will replace Chris Baird at the back, while Ian Pearce has been loaned for a month to Southampton.
Nolberto Solano, Luis Boa Morte and Mark Noble are all set to return for West Ham's trip to Fulham on Saturday.
The trio missed the Hammers' 1-1 draw with Birmingham a fortnight ago but have benefited from a week off.
Julien Faubert, a substitute against the Blues, will also be pushing for a start after coming through a full reserve-team game on Monday.
Bobby Zamora needs one more reserve match before returning to first-team contention, so youngster Freddie Sears could earn a place on the bench.
Scott Parker (knee) is due to start full training after the weekend, while Craig Bellamy is out for at least six weeks after undergoing abdominal surgery.

H2H's
2008-01-12 West Ham 2-1 Fulham
2007-01-13 West Ham 3-3 Fulham
2006-12-23 Fulham 0-0 West Ham
2006-01-23 West Ham 2-1 Fulham
2005-09-17 Fulham 1-2 West Ham
2002-12-26 West Ham 1-1 Fulham
2002-10-23 Fulham 0-1 West Ham
2002-04-01 Fulham 0-1 West Ham
2001-11-03 West Ham 0-2 Fulham

Fulham have won none of their past 14 London derbies and none of their past seven games at home to West Ham.

West Ham are a decent 2.80 with Centrebet to take all 3pts back to Upton park.

LIVERPOOL-MIDDLESBROUGH

Only one bet for me, as it looks now, for today. Liverpool host Middlesbrough in a game that comes right after the hosts have played a very important game against Inter. Liverpool had most, if not all, of that game and in the end managed to score two late goals to win it. Despite controlling that game, I can't help but think all that attacking and trying to break down Inter have taken it's toll on the players. Middelsbrough aren't exactly free scoring. They have only scored a maximum of one goal per game in their last 10 league starts! Liverpool will still want to reach 4th, but stats show this isn't going to be a walk in the park. Last 8 games at Liverpool have all gone under 3 goals. If we look further, 16 of last 19 games (H/A) have all gone under!

Score prediction: 2-0

Pick 1: Under 2,5 goals - 1,90 @ Expekt (4/10)

No I am not still feeling the affects of last nights ale but I am going with my feeling that Derby County will win away today 5/1. It will be a tight game but if they can survive the first 30 mins without conceding I feel they will have a chance to win this one. I know logic defies this bet and Wigan are a tough side to beat at home but I think the pressure is on Wigan to beat Derby and past results have shown Wigan to be great underdogs and not so clever when the pressure is on. Call it just a feeling, and I know a fool and his money are easily parted but im blindly optimistic.

Gawd...I hope Adebayor scores in the lunchtime match.

Anyhow it seems like Stan James either made money last week (HOW!?) or they're a glutton for punishment. Here come the BBC Sport employees...

Reasoning Fresh from a midweek European victory confidence will be high in teh Liverpool team. I dont rate Middlesboro and Liverpool should have the edge at home.

My apologies for this one. Well that early goal pretty much killed this bet. It all out attack from Liverpool after that, and they got two quick goals as well. Sometimes I really do hate statistics... But I guess they are ment to be broken sometime.

What will be the last match shown on the Match of the Day, BBC TV show? It's a British football highlights show if you didn't know.

The answer was 'Wigan Athletic versus Derby County'.
