England Non-League: Summer Transfers/rumours

Thought i'd start this thread to keep all informed about summer transfers,releases etc so as Eastbourne Boro are 10 mins from my house i'll tell you about them....Five players have been let go, the main one being GK Lee Hook who has signed for Dover,Jay Lovett,Pat Harding & not surprisingly Jacob Mingle & Alan Tait. Coming in now Danny Brown has now signed from Cambridge Utd as has GK Micheal Jorden & manager Garry Wilson has been busy this week signing GK Danny Knowles, striker Liam Marum from Woking & one of last years loanee's from Plymouth Dan Smith....

Former Albion defender Gary Elphick is expected to complete a switch to Priory Lane this week from Blue Square south outfit Havant and Waterlooville.
The 23-year-old, who made two League appearances for the Seagulls before being released in August 2006, was named player of the year at West Leigh Park last season and has played for the England non-league side.

Crawley have signed Wrexham striker Jefferson Louis. Simon Weatherstone has left to go part-time with as yet an un-named club, Isiah Rankin,Gavin Hurren & Santos Gaia have also been released...

Crawley have also signed midfielder Eddie Hutchinson, 29, from Oxford United and striker Charles Ademeno, 20, from Southend United.

We've confirmed the signing of Andy Burgess today after Rushden released him from his contract a few weeks early. Mark Tyler has also signed and will be confirmed when his contract at Peterborough ends.

Something I do every year is make a list of the summer transfers in the lower leagues; it's quite telling that usually teams with little transfer activity tend to do well the next season; Aldershot, Burton & Dagenham signed less in comparison to the majority of BSP sides in their championship winning seasons. Antonio Murray has now left Histon and Matt Micthell King will be joining a league side shortly.

Daryl McMahon and Phil Bolland are likely to be leaving Cambridge. Lee Philips turned down a higher wage from an unamed BSP side to sign for United, Chris Holyrod has agreed to another years contract.

It's only 5, unless you know of 2 I don't . We've also signed Adam Newton from Brentford today. Thoughts are in the Luton thread in sports banter.

Kev, Newton was one of the most promising talents to come out of our youth system years back, really rated him at the time but he never got the chance in my opinion.

In the BSP he could well make a huge difference to Luton's chances

Any rumours as to where Parkin is off to mate?

He scored against us for Brentford on the last day of last season mate. Has always looked ok on the times I've seen him play. As I've said in the thread in banter, we're going to complete the signing of Liam Hatch over the next couple of days so he'll provide good ammunition for him with the ability to score goals too.

As for Parkin, the knackers yard if anyone has any sense.

Finally, we should get some answer about which teams are playing where next season. King's Lynn's appeal against demotion has been rejected so they will take their place in the Southern (possibly), meaning that Hyde United stay up. Cammell Laird have also been demoted from the Unibond Prem, so that Whitby Town are saved. The situation with Newcastle Blue Star is still unresolved, as is the fate of Merthyr, although we should know more today. And the bottom line is we should see some prices for the BlueSQ N & S very soon.

Thus far only the Ryman leagues are out. There's a reprieve for Margate in the Premier. It's not the strongest Ryman Prem, and I reckon a dozen sides could make the playoffs. But I can only see one winner, and that's... oh - hang on, we can't be doing the compilers work for them just yet.

And it looks like Gloucester City are bound for the Conny North, with Worcester choosing to stay in the South.

Steps 1-4 are 'confirmed' on the FA site. Chester are in the BlueSQ North. Hyde and Thurrock are reprieved. Merthyr and Newcastle Blue Star still appear in the Southern Prem and Unibond Prem respectively, though for the time being it's best to consider their places as provisional. All that remains is to work out who'll be starting on -10.

Thanks for the quick reprieve for Chester Ships......sent me into panic mode for a couple of micro-seconds with the thought of a local derby at Vauxhall Motors.

Nothing to report from Chester & no new signings. Not likely to be until any sale goes through. Three parties (including the current chairman) are still alledgedly showing an interest.
