Not my choosing, Bedlam - honest! In truth, it doesn't feel very 'godlike' when half the tips I post on here end up with a price cut in about 15 minutes. A better tag these days would be 'the man who takes the value out of the market'.

Well, I'm coming to the end of another profitable season and I see no reason not to indulge in a speculation. I've had a point on Prescot Cables at Matlock Town (6/1 with Skybet). A couple of weeks back, in the reverse fixure, I plumped for Cables, only to see them go down 3-1, but that wasn't a fair reflection of play, and it took two late Matlock strikes to seal the points. It's true that mid-table Cables are hardly setting the world alight, but Dean Thurston and Karl Connolly remain dangerous performers at this level, and they have a dogged young side who play with plenty of guts. The form guide shows one win in six, which sounds poor, but dig deeper and there is a better away record lurking - one defeat in seven since the turn of the year. And that defeat was at Burscough, 1-0, in injury time, after a performance that deserved a point at least.

I've made a habit of opposing a very busy Matlock recently, which has landed some very decent prices. I opposed them on Saturday at home to Gateshead, and while that 0-0 was a loser, there were some signs that the patched-together Matlock side tired as the game went on. It is fair to say, though, that when asked to dig deep Matlock often oblige - the do not lack spirit and the really need this win. I expect, against Prescot, and all-action start, that the visitors will do well to ride. But after that I think it will a much more even game, as a less exhausted Prescot come back more into it. Real speculators, as opposed to half-arsed speculators like me, can take on the 50/1 offered by Bet365 for the HT/FT Matlock/Prescot.

This is plain silly: Bet365 have cut the HT/FT Matlock/Prescot to 20/1 - absolutely crazy when you consider that Matlock are 2/5 favourites for the match, and the price on HT/FT Prescot/Matlock is 22/1.

EventFarnborough x Fisher Athletic
SelectionFarnborough
Strength10/10

Bookmaker/PriceBetandWin @ 2.15 (Back)
Reasoning(Nationwide Conference South) This game will only be played to fulfill the table of the championship, since remaining 2 games for the end, nor the Farnborough nor fisher can be classified or be lowered. Then none of the teams will enter in field motivated, the fact of the Farnborough to play in its house will give some advantage to it, and mine it bets is in it

ReasoningRemaining 2 games for the end of the championship, the Halifax is in relegation zone and alone it can think about a result for this game if nao to want to be lowered: the victory. Despite the Halifax being in relegation zone, it has a reasonable performance when he plays in its house, being in 9º in table-home of the 24 teams, with a 10-8-3 register. Had the importance of this game for they, I go in the victory home here

Ships, you must know by now that Bet365 are a joke.

As a little experiment (because I know that following every bet I try to place with them, they change the price), a friend with an unfactored account placed £1200 on Heerenveen Draw No Bet at 1.80. The price did not move. An hour or so later, on my factored account (I can only win up to £5 on most things), I tried to place a bet of £50 on the same bet. Of course "on this occasion your additional stake request has been declined." Within 30 seconds the price had dropped to 1.72. To prove the point further I tried to place £50 on Heerenveen at 11/8 - again declined, new price 2.25 and then HT/FT - again declided dropped from 3.75 to 3.50.

To be honest I am surprised you can get a bet on with Bet365 still - well a proper bet anyway. I guess the only reason is they limit you a little bit and then cut what you back.

Litmanen - Yes, they are very silly. But I am envious of the friend of yours who can get £1200 on!

Diamonde, the eastbourne -newport game is a tricky one to call.NEWPORT WON THIS ONE 4-NIL last week, their home form is so very good/.The away form is starting to come together but eastbourne are no mugs at home, will be looking for revenge, and county have ,like northwich, played so many games in a short space of time.

Having said all that i still think that county are more than capable of taking at least a point here in sussex. However i think that newport's main target this week will be the game on thursday aginst already relegated weston super mare,a short journey acrooss the severn bridge, backed by a huge army of travelling fans, that to me ,is the away game this week that peter beadle and the boys will be targeting.

Many thanks as ever to mdp and piranha for all the tivvy and cheshunt updates.Good luck to one and all.

Karnobat1 re: Grays v Kidderminster

I don't usually offer a public opinion on The Conference as I am not confident enough that my level of knowledge across the division is up to it. I would say though that the 4.00 available on Kidderminster is a big price considering their excellent away form. As I said, my knowledge is patchy in this division and there may well be good reasons for Grays being hot favourites: they have the motivation for this game that's for sure and I have some faith in their manager Justin Edinburgh, who has done some good things there since he took over. Kidderminster don't need anything from this game but 1.73 is too short for me to back the weaker team.

It is not a bet for me unless any other more knowledgeable forum members have something to say one way or the other.

I dont like talking about actual amounts bet on the PL. To me it is irrelevent. 10p to some folk is £10 to others is £100 to others

What I am aware is that Bet365 shops seem to have a shop floor limit of £500 for most non league football. I dont use the branches myself, but know of 1 or 2 people who would bet vast sums if allowed by bet365 but quite simply the layer will not allow it

A losing night overall for me. Prescot lost and Workington drew 0-0, but at least Farnborough won, keeping the loss to under a point. Could have been worse - that was a very strange Borough side out tonight, if the Skysports website can be believed. There are unconfirmed reports of some late cry-offs among the senior players.

Worth keeping an eye on the situation at Farnborough with a view to the weekend. It seems as though the non-appearance of a number of first teamers last night was due to the on-going saga of non-payment of wages.

ReasoningThe Northwich already does not have motivation none for this championship the much time, and lost last the 5 games. The Stevenage also does not have plus no possibility, but they do not seem to be so not motivated how much the Northwich. They do not lose has 5 games and go to give I change it of the last game between the 2, when it lost in its house for 2x0.
