Well hello again, its been a while since I last posted, so apolgies for that. I have been encouraged by some of the excellent posts on here giving valuable information, which ended in a nice accumulator for me yesterday.

MK Dons
Shrewsbury
Hartlepool (Phew what a close one)
Macclesfield (Another last minute one)

Which paid around £2600 to an £80 stake. Thanks Ladbrokes, apparently I cost them their bonus as well, oh well, sh!t happens

Anyway, enough about the past and onto tomorrow. I originally fancied BURY to beat Darlington for the same reasons I selected against them on Saturday, but the team news seems to indicate a number of the Darlo players are back from their illnesses, so I will leave that one alone and at the end of the day Bury arn't that clever.

The 2 standouts at reasonable odds for me are 2 teams which came up trumps on Saturday, the monkey hangers and MKD.

Mansfield v Hartlepool (Away Win - 7/5 Lads)

I firmly believe in following a team in form over the xmas period, and when its going your way, its going your way. Confidence must be sky high at Hartlepool, only complacency can derail them at the moment. The Pool are now on a club record 8 successive victories thanks to the last minute goal on Sat. Apparently the keeper who fumbled for the goal, had kept a rampant pool at bay for most of the match. They only tend to win by the odd goal, which is more significant in the fact that this means they don't conceed. They also have the influential John Daly back.

Mansfield are a better team at home than away, but can they stop the pool freight train? They have lost 3 of their last 4 games, the only victory been against a very average/poor Darlington.

My only concerns about this selection is the new manager effect at Field Mill, his second game in charge was abandonded, so its difficult to make any firm assertions about this fact. I feel the odds on offer at the Ladbrokes shops shows good value (2.4) considering Expekt are offering 2.55 which is the best on offer on the web. Remember, if prices slide on line, in general the bookies will hold whatever price is on the sheets. Having said that I have noticed bookies who manually change every sheets prices by hand if a mega gamble takes hold !!!

Mk Dons v Swindon (Home Win 11/10 Lads)

Once again, get onto a bandwagon if you see one leaving town, in this case its leaving Milton Keynes. They are have 6/6 victories, 3 of them being away and have only conceeded 2 in the last 4. The notable result being against a high flying Wycombe.

Swindon arn't too consistant at the moment, but I admit they are a from team and can provide a test for the Dons. Swindon are sweating on the fitness of Peacock, which will be a bonus should he not play as he can be potent in front of goal.

I notice that Ladbrokes coupon is showing 2.1 but they have reduced them down to 1.91 on the web, 2.1 is the best price available anywhere.

My only other possible selection which I will look at is BARNET to beat Boston. They have won their last 4 and the dressing room seems to be in turmoil at Boston, with the team captain threatening a strike as the player have not been paid for December. Apparently its been sorted, but there must be a little upset remaining.

Good Luck everyone

Congratulations Cat on your fine acca win yesterday! I too had a nice win with a 16 team roll-up which paid a cool £1.5 million for 10p. I can’t think why I haven’t been expelled yet by my bookmaker, nor why I didn't think to post my tips here before the game! Ah well.

These are my picks, my picks are based on observing recent reams form, trends (from what I've seen live on TV, results) and following the tables for the few last weeks. Also no suspensions/inujries considered...
What do you think? THanks!

1. Notts County - Chester (Chester facing fatal cash problems, doesnt seem like to find enough power to face Notts County away after 2 embarassing loses at home, at least not capable to get back on the track for the following few weeks)

2. Bristol Rovers - Torquay - Torquay struggling recently, I can't see anytning else then Bristol getting 3 points at home tomorrow

Rovers played really well against accrintong in the last home game. Finally got onto abit of form now. Deffinatly win this one i feel although not without a torquay fight as its sort of a derby.

Match: Mansfield - Hartlepool
Pick: Hartlepool 0
Odds: 1.826 @ 10bet
Stakes: 8/10

Analysis: Hartlepool chases their 9th straight league win as they travel to play Mansfield. It is amazing the way this team is grinding out results. So much so that they handicap offered here is almost a mockery of Hartlepool’s ability. They welcome back top striker Daly after he sat out the win in the weekend through suspension and with the kind of confidence flowing through this club, it would be hard to not back them to record yet another win here. In my opinion, there is little chance of Mansfield grabbing all 3 points here and hence the handicap offered is favorable once again. Therefore, on this handicap, I am backing Hartlepool to continue with their great streak.

League 2
Bristol Rovers v Torquay
Bristol Rovers, Betfair @ 1.67
Torquay are in terrible form and have not won in 16 games. Bristol rovers have solid home record and should be able to dispose of Torquay.

Macclesfield v Lincoln
Macclesfield, Betfair @ 3.05
Paul Ince have done wonders at Macclesfield, before he arrived they had not won a game now they have not lost in 7. They play highflying Lincoln City today but I think the momentum and the home fans should see Macclesfield win thus one.

Mansfield v Hartlepool
Hartlepool, Betfair @ 2.66
Hartlepool are on 7 games winning streak and I know at some point they have to stop winning but they can beat an average Mansfield side if they play like they have been recently.

the return of the free scoring Mangan to the Accrington squad and the continuing injury/virus problems with Wrexham makes the DNB or handicap option on Accrington attractive. Accrington held the high flying Macc lads recently away and have a bit of a run of their own going. They are more than capable of emulating their Silkmen result today.

Gone off Rovers for reasons stated earlier and the miserly 4/7 on offer with my bookie.

Nice to see the Cat has given me the winning bet in advance today - I am off to lump on now so thanks in advance! Good luck to us both and everyone else.
