Luton v Huddersfield - 2.68 betfair

Think this a bit generous considering the contrasting fortunes of the 2 teams. Luton have lost their last 5, although it has to be said 4 of them games were away and were all by 1 goal margins apart from against doncaster last game. Huddersfield seem to be playing some decent stuff under their new manager and have in fact won their last 3 games with clean sheets in all. Admittedly all home games but wins to nil against leeds, tranmere and walsall cant be sniffed at. Will wait to see others views on this game any thoughts kevshat?) before betting but this price did jum out at me at first glance.

Copied and pasted this post from the other thread..... A few people agreed with me - a few people disagreed but now there is a league 1 thread up and running thought id move it here anyway.....

Carlisle v Bournemouth - 7/2 skybet - or 15/8 draw no bet stanjames

*Please note Bet365 are now 5/2 for the bournemouth win and only 13/8 on the draw no bet - makes my 5/2 on the draw no bet look like a good bet anyway! Must have been some money for bournemouth on bet365!*

Heres my post.....

''Skybet and Bet365 both go 7/2 on the bournemouth win at carlisle on saturday which i think is an absolute steal to be honest. They are also 5/2 on the draw no bet with bet365 which is what i will be going for. And this is me speaking as a carlisle fan... heres why.

Ignore the league table for a second, and look at the facts. Most of you will obviously know that bournemouth have won their last 6 games, and need to win this one last game to keep their survival hopes alive. Less of you will know that carlisle have lost their last 3, and have only gained 5 points from a possible 21. Fair enough in the bigger picture carlisles home record is superb, but they have only actually won one of their last 4 homes, bournemouth have won their last 3 aways, including at swansea and must feel confident of making the greatest ever escape in history and getting their 7th successive win.

Carlisle are struggling with injuries at the moment as well, star striker garner has been missing a while, but now they will also have their best defender livesey suspended after his straight red against millwall, where to be honest, carlisle should have been 4 or 5 down at half time, and that was before the sending off. His usual replacement, paul reid, is injured also and to be fair we are really struggling and confidence seems to have been drained from the players. Earlier in the season, particularly at home we could play badly and grind out wins, but that capability his disappeared and this is reflected in the recent form.

Sceptics to this bet might say carlisle need to win to have any chance of automatic promotion. Well the general feeling amongst the fans and it seems players is that weve had our chance and are happy to settle for the playoffs, and i cant see both doncaster AND forest both slipping up anyway. This will probably be a good crowd, but also in some parts a negative one, as some people are questioning john wards tactics and are getting on the back of some players also. I think bournemouth's added confidence will therefore lead them to a win, although at odds of 5/2 for the draw no bet i am quite happy to take this price at less of a risk.

Cue carlisle to pull out the performance of the season and win 4-0 (which i wouldnt complain about obviously!) but on a serious note i think the bookies havent priced this properly and this is why i recommend this bet.

My tip - Carlisle v Bournemouth - 5/2 draw no bet - bet365 ''

*Please note this price is no longer available*

Can't put you off mate other than to say we're a different kettle of fish at home than we are away. Ironically we've not played that badly in these last 5 matches. We were more than a match for Forest 2 weeks ago and how we didn't beat Gillingham and Northampton I'm still trying to work out even now. We've announced today we're releasing 8 players. I'd like to think they'd give it a go and play for a contract somewhere but I've not seen a grain of effort from Darren Currie in a Luton shirt yet so I doubt I'll get it on Saturday. We'll go with the kids who are doing us proud as we have for the last 9-10 matches but as is the case with kids we tire in the last 20 (we've conceded in the last 20 mins in 4 of the 5 losses recently) so to sum up mate if you're happy to go with Huddersfield's iffy away record then go for it. It's certainly a fair price.

Bourmouth +1 @ 5/6 (corals) looks a decent bet, they are one of the form teams of the division and I think (according to bbc) naming an unchanged side for this one. Carlise have had a major dip in form and have a few injury doubts/players already ruled out. Both teams need to win for different reasons which may result in a draw. I certainly think 7/4 is to big for a team with as good a recent record as Bourmouth have, but there is a lot at stake and feel Bourmouth plus the draw is a better, safer bet than the straight win for either side.

Also got to fancy forest to win, they know they basically have to win (I know they go up if they get a point and Donny fail to beat Cheltenham) but Calderwood will have a near fully fit squad fired up to go out and win this one. They should win reasonably well against a yovil team that have nothing to play for Forrest -1 @ 10/11 is not a bad price, far better price than 1/4

Northampton v Tranmere

Bit of a risky one this as nothing but pride, a bit of prize money and ending the season with a smile on your face for these guys, but I fancy Northampton's home form to carry them through. Stuart Gray was unhappy with their performance at Port Vale last week and has given them a bit of a bollocking, hopefully there'll be a reaction tomorrow. The Cobblers are in good form at home with just one defeat in ten (to Forest) and three wins from four, in contrast Tranmere have lost four of their last five away. The incentive for Northampton is that a win will take them above their opponents and their highest league placing in a decade.

Leeds v Gillingham.

This fixture has sold out at Elland Road, so taking into account safety measures (netting off various seats to avoid pitch invasion etc) expect at least 35,000 Leeds fans to be in fine voice. This is like a 12th and possibly 13th man because Gillingham may well be terrified...

On top of that, the recent failure to get back our 15 points will also spur the team like it did at the start of the season when they were taken away. The 'siege' mentality may well be back.

On top of all this is form. Gills haven't won an away game in the last 10 attempts, Leeds have hit form with 3 home wins (1 draw/1 loss) from 5.

4/5 at Hills seems generous! Good luck.
