Early one for me - Friday match between Yeovil and Huddersfield. Huddersfield are struggling lately but there were few good results before disaster against Doncaster in last match. Rare win in last couple of weeks came at home to Swansea 2 weeks ago, they also managed to draw against Tranmere week before, and I think they could take something from this match.

Yeovil are favorites of course, but this one smells like draw to me. My bet is LAY Yeovil @1.97 at betfair. I think Yeovil have around 48-50% chances to win this one, and this lay looks like good bet.

ReasoningYeovil have conceded just 12 goal in 6 matches and have compiled a solid 7-3-3 record there. Striker Marcus Stewart will be available as well as right back Andy Lindegaard. Though captain Terry Skiverton is a game time decision

Huddersfield have dropped 3 of their last 5 away matches and are 3-4-6 away in the campaign. They have been outscored 12-19 and will be missing striker Pawel Abbot and midfielder Adnan Ahmed who are suspended for this game. Danny Schoefield, Andy Holsworth, and Aaron Hardy are all doubts for Huddersfield as well.

Yeovil have 3 wins in their last 5 and I think the winning form continues against Huddersfield.

Match: Yeovil - Huddersfield
Pick: Yeovil -0.5
Odds: 2.06 @ Pinnacle
Stakes: 8/10

Analysis: Yeovil’s been doing pretty ok so far this season and they would look to continue furthering their ambitions this season with another good result here. After dropping 2 points in their previous match, no error could be afforded here as they take on poor travelers Huddersfield. Yeovil’s traditional resilience could just prove too much for a Huddersfield side that is toothless in front of goal when playing away. Yeovil could welcome back the likes of Lindegaard, Skiverton and Stewart for this match against a Huddersfield side who could be deprived of the services of as many as Abbott, Ahmed, Schofield, Hardy and Holdsworth through either suspensions or injuries. All in all, Yeovil should just edge this one as they did in their earlier encounter this season. Yeovil to win 1-0.

I fancy Yeovil as well. They aren't a side that has coped too well with the loss of players and if Skiverton misses out they will suffer a bit, but he is just one player and they should be able to cope with that, expecially with Huddersfield missing Abbott.

Marcus Stewart is back for them, correct me if I am wrong but isn't he an ex Huddersfield player?

Reasoning Yeovil are the better team here but haven't played all that well of late and struggled against teams below them in the table, they dont score many goals so i cant see a blowout here. Huddersfield havent won in 5 away games but have drawn 2 of those and lost 1 by a solo goal. The last 3 meetings between these teams have all been won by the away team and i fancy Huddersfield to pull of a shock result here and at least go home with something.

Match: Port Vale - Bradford
Pick: Port Vale -0.5
Odds: 2.13 @ Pointbet
Stakes: 8/10

Analysis: Port Vale fielded a depleted team and played to a credible 0-0 draw against leaders Scunthorpe. A good performance considering they missed 6 first-team players. Here they would welcome back top goal-scorer Constantine from suspension and if their luck would hold out, also the likes of Sonner, McGregor and Abbey from injuries too. Bradford would however miss their top goal-scorer Windass as well as Johnson and could require their winger to play upfront. With Port Vale being able to call on the services of their top marksman and the fact that Bradford had found it hard recently to find the back of the net especially away from home and compounded with the absence of Windass and Johnson, I have to back Port Vale to outscore Bradford here. Port Vale to win 2-0.

You sure he'll play? What about the late tests for his neck injury?

From BBC Sports

"
Cheltenham v Scunthorpe

Cheltenham will be without striker Damian Spencer, who starts a three-match suspension
Keith Lowe may play after joining on loan, John Finnigan (calf) is doubtful, while Craig Armstrong, David Bird and Michael Wylde are back in contention. Scunthorpe strikers Billy Sharp (neck) and Andy Keogh (hamstring) will have late fitness tests. Andy Crosby is hoping to recover from a facial injury, while Marcus Williams is battling an ankle injury.

Cheltenham Vs Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe sit at the top of League 1 with 14 wins and only 5 losses and are facing 23rd placed Cheltenham who have already lost 16 games. Scunthorpe's away form is the best in the League having only lost 3 away games in 13 and have only conceded 6 goals, and they have a +10 GD which is excellent as far as playing away is concerned.

Cheltenham's home form is only fair and their recent efforts have also been fair with only the one loss in their last five games.

The away team have only lost once in their past 12 games and they should be too strong here for Cheltenham and at $2-25 they are well worth a bet. Scunthorpe have also won the last 3 encounters between these two teams, scoring 7 goals in the process and only conceding one.

BET
Scunthorpe Straight Out to WIn @ $2-25
(Sportingbet)

Tranmere Vs Northampton

The home team's recent form is fairly good with only the one loss in their last 10 games, but they have scored at least one goal in every one of those games. Tranmere have scored 10 goals in their last five home games and have no trouble finding the net. Northampton on the other hand have only scored 3 goals in their last eight games and have had five clean sheets. On those figures alone it points to at least being 1-0 to the home side at some stage.

Tranmere have won the last 4 meetings between these two and have scored 13 goals while Northampton have scored just the one. That is a fairly strong head to head form line in favour of the home side.

BET
Scunthorpe Straight Out to WIn @ $1-67
(Sportingbet)

Bournemouth v Brentford

Relegation fight, and always unpredictable games. But from my point of view there is value in home side, who are in much better shape at the moment. Slightly better at the back and miles ahead in scoring, Bornemouth will have to use this chance in crucial 6-pointer, and I'm with them today.

Last night i went for Yeovil, but now i have to fancy Bournemouth for this one!

Reasoning Nice games between these 2 sides in the past years:
2005/2006 English League Bournemouth - Brentford 2:2
2004/2005 English League Bournemouth - Brentford 3:2
2003/2004 English League Bournemouth - Brentford 1:0
2001/2002 English League Bournemouth - Brentford 0:2

2day's match will be full of tension as it is a 6 points game in the relegation battle.
I fancy home side here because in my book they are the better team. Also Brentford last games away were awfull:
01.01.2007 English League Swansea - Brentford 2:0
23.12.2006 English League Carlisle - Brentford 2:0
16.12.2006 English League Port Vale - Brentford 1:0
24.11.2006 English League Cheltenham - Brentford 2:0
04.11.2006 English League Nott. Forest - Brentford 2:0

Also new signings for both clubs this weeks who can start from the beggining of the game.

Reasoning To be honest i'm surpised to see such a big odds for the home side here!
They are by far the better team and with the high ambitions and an odd like 1.8 is good for us!

Last past games between the 2 sides showed no mercy from Tranmere:
2002/2003 English League Tranmere - Northampton 4:0
2001/2002 English League Tranmere - Northampton 2:0

2002/2003 English League Northampton - Tranmere 0:4
2001/2002 English League Northampton - Tranmere 4:1

and this year was a comfortable win for Tranmere away with 3-1.

Also Tranmere at home they are
12 8 2 2 20:10 10 26.
The only thing that worries me is the away form of Northampton who drew 7 games so far...
Still the odd is too good to be missed.

That was the only question mark surrounding the bet, if he doesn't play it's void anyway.
