2.75 for southend away at chesterfield will be on my line this week unless correctly advised otherwise - not a great result midweek but are not top of the league for nothing - 8 4 4 away is champions stuff, and in a topsy-turvy league for stats, chesterfields 6 6 3 doesnt inspire at home thus far, getting tight for automatic promotion and southend wary of having played a game more make me lean towards an away win, moreso at the tempting price.

Bradford - Bristol City
This looks a decent odd for a home win at 2.20, looking at the fact that Bradford won the first encounter of these teams this season 1:0 and the fact that Bristol City has taken twice as many goals away than at home plus their attack is not so effective. The home team plays pretty much even both at home and away, and this could be a game where they could score a couple and win this without much fuss.

Doncaster - Gillingham
A simmilar affair, Donacaster OK at home and Gills taking too many goals to produce anything away.On the other side Gills did win this on their field but barely 1:0, and doncaster will surely be looking to take some points and at evens this is a fair odd but I much more like the 3.30 odds for a draw, anyway Doncaster not to loose.

Walsall - Oldham

I've tipped Oldham @ 2.60 - Walsall are dreadful at the moment and whilst Oldham aren't much better, I think they are the sort of team to score freely against any ragged outfit.

I'm not sure how Swindon aren't big favourites at home to Rotherham. Swindon have clawed themselves from being rooted at the bottom, to outside the relegation zone. Rotherham are a mess on and off the pitch, and I can't see them getting anything in that one.

Port Vale-Notts Forest
Vale have turned things recently, winning their last 2 at home, and their only defeat in the last 7 was away at Colchester when they were betting everyone in sight. Forest haven't won away since August, and the 3-0 defeat at Oldham in the week won't have done them any good at all. Vale at 2.38 or so look good value.

SelectionBRADFORD (DRAW NO BET)
Date2006-02-18
EventBRADFORD V BRISTOL CITY
Bookmaker/PriceSportingOdds @ 1.70 (Back)
ReasoningWith the bookmakers underround here at 99% there must be some value here. I have assessed Bradford to have a 11/10 chance in this game. In this league the home team win about 45% of matches but here we have a team at home who are higher in the league and have a much better goal difference. Bristol City away record is 2-3-10!!!. On the surface the recent form of the away team looks much better then the home squads. But on examining each teams record in detail over the last 10 games a strange fact emerges. Bristol City have played 4 teams in the bottom 6 while Bradford have played 4 in the top 6. I I would have expected Bradford to be priced at at 1/2 with the draw no bet option particularly when you look at Bristol City's away record.

EventHuddersfield vs. Milton Keynes
Bookmaker/PriceBetdaq @ 1.61 (Back)
ReasoningHuddersfield are sitting pretty at the moment with a good position in the playoff zone, and Milton Keynes are rock bottom, showing no improvements away from home. Huddersfield have won their last three at home including at good 2-0 win over high flying colchester, and Milton Keynes have only the one point from their last 4 away games. For me, all of this points towards a home win.

Doncaster Rovers v Gillingham

19/20 to win with WillHills

We're hitting some good form at the moment and are almost in the posistion to have a full squad to pick from. Expect Rovers to climb up the table shortly and this game should be relatively easy. We're very good at home aswell.

Yeah I agree.

Huddersfield will have too much for a soft centered MK Dons.

Home win.

Swindon are my pick here. Their recent home record is that of a team in the top six of the table, not bottom. Rotherham, on the other hand, are going in only one direction... down to the second division.

I'll also have some of those odds on Port Vale - who are fairly solid at home - beating Forest whose away form has made me a lot of money this season... keep it up boys!

Gillingham are without both their first choice strikers for this one, Neil Harris is injured & leading scorer Darren Byfield begins a 4 match suspension. having said that i still wouldn't write off their chances of getting a point, as The gills hve been keeping it much tighter at the back of late, so a draw might well be the call, but it's a lay of Gillingham for me .

I wouldn't really say the Gills have been keeping it tight at the back lately, Bedlam. We've now gone 6 games without keeping a clean sheet (compared with 6 clean sheets in the 10 games prior to that). Admittedly we've only conceded 7 goals in those 6 games, but when our only two players who've really looked likely to do much are out injured, it's difficult to see us scoring.

Really can't see anything other than a Doncaster win in this one, much as I hate to say it.

I just think that Jepson has installed a bit of steel about them since the Colchester debacle RC, they were apparently unlucky not to get a draw at Oldham & have not conceded more than 1 in a match since, including a fine win at Swansea. having said that, if they concede tomorrow, it's difficult to see where the equaliser will come from! Perhaps under 2.5 should be the bet!?

Bournemouth v Blackpool

Both side having a mare of a season, bournemouth with lots of players injuried and in terrible form 1 win in 10 ,have not scored for 3 matches and who has lost away to swindon and rotherham recently, against a Blackpool side who must be looking to getting something for this game otherwise they can forget any great escape. Blackpool have a great record at bournemouth winning the last three seasons however I see it as a tight affair which could end as a draw. Interestingly, these two teams are bottom and second from bottom for scoring in the first half, so,

Draw H/T F/T
and
Under 2.5 goals

for me

Certainly wouldn't argue with that, Bedlam, we're definitely more solid since Jepson has come in, but we seem to be on a bit of a downward slope again. We followed that thrashing at Colchester with a couple of wins to nil, and a run of 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats, keeping 5 clean sheets in that time. Unfortunately since then, we seem to be slipping a bit. We got our first away win of the season at Swansea, which was a great result, but in spite of that, we still don't actually expect any points away from home. The trouble with that is that we're very reliant on our home form, and failing to beat both Rotherham and Tranmere has maybe damaged morale a bit (among the supporters, I'm talking here, based on reading the Rivals board, which I do most days, not necessarily among the players). Don't know, I guess in terms of actual results you're probably right, there's nothing particularly wrong with our results recently, but there's certainly a bit more negativity going around in the past couple of weeks.

Would agree with you on the unders, because I can't really see where we're going to get a goal from.

By the way, should maybe point out I have a 100% losing record on Gillingham games this season (regardless of whether I back us to win or lose). I've backed Doncaster to win tomorrow, make of that what you will

I agree with the comments on Swindon. i have been following them since xmas when they beat Colchester. They havent lost at home since Nov 26 & should account for Rotherham tomorrow. All this & they sold thier best striker Fallon in January. Cureton is scoring again & he can get another tomorrow as he is a confidence goalscorer.
