Walsall v Oldham over 2.5 gls @ 2.2 Betfair

I was surprised to see they had priced up the over as the underdog here. Oldham's goals have dried up a bit but with Beckett in the side they are capable of scoring a couple here. Walsall are desperate to get out of trouble & although merson got the heave ho, people must remember that he was forced to sell Matt fryatt who was their top scorer. They are desperate for a result here & i think the matych could be at least 2-2 or 3-2 either way.

Bournemouth v Blackpool

Bornemouth are 4 points above Blackpool, but I don't think that can be reason for those odds offered for away win here.

Blackpool are in much better form at the moment, and although they come from two straight defeats, those two results mean nothing in my opinion. In last round they lost at home against Huddersfield (one of top table sides) and in round before they were beaten at Milton Keynes (bottom table side, but in solid form at the moment).

Bornemouth on the other hand have 4 defeats in last 6 rounds, with awful goal difference of 4-12, and by all means they cant be such favorites in this match.

Blackpool have great record at Bornemouth, and they won in their last three visits there. In previous match this season they lost at home, and they will surely go for a revenge here, but more important they will go for three points they badly need. This is right moment for them to face Bornemouth, one of out of form sides in league, and one of their old customers.

Blackpool @3.75 (VCBet) deserves few units.

Swindon v Rotherham

With great run in last couple of weeks Swindon are quickly leaving relegation zone, and their confidence should be high after 3 wins and draw in last 4 rounds. They won't lack motivation either in this typical 6 pointer, but even if we put all this motivation factors aside, they are simply better side, and side in much better form than Rotherham, and they deserve to be favorites in this one.

Rotherham are 2nd from bottom, but after 7 games without win they managed to beat Bornemouth at home last week, and that's surely good sign. Another reason against bet on Swindon could be guests' solid road record maybe, as they collected almost equal ammount of points in their home and away games.

But I still think Swindon @evens is good bet and they are one of my best bets for this Saturday.

EventChesterfield X Southend
Bookmaker/PriceBet365 @ 1.95 (Back)
ReasoningSouthend cannot afford another loss following their 0-2 at Brentford. Colchester are now only 1 point behind them with a game in hand, while Brenford are 3 points away of them with 2 games in hand!

Chesterfield are 4 points away from 6th position and should be looking for a play-off position themselves.

However, I don't think Southend's defence will give them the pleasure of creating many opportunities, and they have shown they have problems scoring in the last 2 games (both lost 0-1), thus I feel taking the visitors on level ball is the safest bet on this one.

Also a little bit on under can be considered according to both team's latest trend, although in general (all season record) they're both far from being poor on the target.

Good Luck!

EventTranmere X Barnsley
Bookmaker/PriceGamebookers @ 1.80 (Back)
ReasoningI should be so unlucky if this one loses! Really!
Home team Tranmere solve most of their problems by drawing. Any team at Tranmere has more chance of drawing than getting any other result.
5-8-3 is their record at home. Well, it says nothing about the goal scoring, but 5 out of the last 6 games they've played (home and away) ended in draw. 4 of them ended scoreless, and one by 1-1. So, scoring 3 in 6 and conceding 2 in the same games isn't anything close to suggesting an over here, right?

Ok, Barnsley now: all ther last 5 games ended in Under 2.5 scores. Each and every one of them had only 2 goals in them. Exactly 2. (3 won by 2-0, one lost by the same score and finally a 1-1 draw).

Judging by this I find this price amazingly high on the under 2.5 bet, so I'll cling to it.

Now please tell me I'm not cursed or something to lose this one!

Doncaster should have enough to take all 3 pts at home to gillingham. As RCGills has let us know the gills are without their 2 main strikers. They've only scored 9 away goals in 16 games and that was when they had fit strikers! They've only won away once all season, all be it a good win at Swansea, and they've lost 9 of their 16 away games. Doncaster have won their last 2, including a good 2-0 home win against Barnsley. If they can win their 2 games in hand they would be on the verge of that last play-off place. Time for the Donny to put a little run together.

Swindon are my other selection. Onura has really turned them around, they looked down and out at one point this season, but since Christmas they've been one of the form sides of the division. They have 4 wins in a row at home since the start of 2006, and I see no reason why they shouldn't make it 5 this afternoon. Rotherham's problems have been much documented, and the unsure future of the club, certainly won't be helping the players. They've lost 8 of 17 away this season and have lost 4 and drew 1 of their last 5 away games.

Doncaster to beat Gillingham - 10pts Win at 1.96 Betfair
I make Doncaster the best bet of the day on the football. I have them down as at least 8/13 shots so 1.96 with Betfair will do me nicely thank you.
Ok, lets look at Gillinghams away form. 1 sole win all season and 9 losses. Doncasters home form reads 7 home wins and 5 losses. I know who I would rather be on. Doncaster have also won their last 2 games quite convincenly without conceding a goal whereas Gillingham lost 1-0 away to Swindon midweek. Of the current teams in the play offs positions, Doncaster have a few games in hand of them making them a live play off hope and they will know they need to get maximum points from home if they are to have a chance of getting there. Expect a strong home win today.

Port Vale to beat Nottingham Forest - 6pts Win at 2.40 Betfair
Nottingham Forest have beaten Port Vale in both of these teams last 5 encounters but I am swayed in Vale's favour today because of Forests away form. They have won just 1 away game all season and suffered a shocking midweek defeat of 3-0 away to Oldham. Vale have been playing decent enough lately and although I dont make this an over confident bet I think Port Vale look good enough value and could just sneak a 1-0 win.

Alright Youssef

Little has been talking up the fact that he is going to make some changes to the team that had the bore draw against Hartlepool. The skipper Jackson has been spouting about doing better at home, still clinging to the fact that we could possibly make the playoffs still - that is what has made me wary of betting on the outcome of the game.

Sure you are right as all the stats are pointing to the under 2.5 bet especially as the one creative player who can spot a pass (McAteer) is out with a hamstring injury - but there could be a slight chance that he may start the young lad Davies up front/left wing who due to his age/ability seems to add a little spark to the team - at least he did against Hartlepool.

It is the last game that Simon Francis has with us before he goes back to Sheff Utd - the lad has been terrific- far too good for this league and has numerous clubs sniffing about him due to his form- he should be well up for it today.

The other main reason why there might be a few goals today is that our goliath at the back - Sharps - is serving a ban today so that means that Goodison or Raven will slot into his position. Sharps has been the rock around which our strong defensive record has been built on and we may be a little bit more vulnerable in that area today.

Anyway good luck, hope ur right and we win 2-0..can't see it though

SelectionBradford, Hereford

EventLeague one , Conference (double)
Bookmaker/PriceStan James @ 4.62 (Back)
ReasoningBradford 2.10 and Hereford 2.20.I see that one as a nice double.

Bradford needs wins at home. They are drawing most of their games.Last games against Swindon, Tranmere and Swansea at home all ended with draws. Now they are playing against an opponent which suits them very much.H2H between them is definetelly on Bradford side.Last game at home groung ended in comfortable 4:1 win.Last 3 home games were amazing 3 wins and 12:1 goal difference.Last match at Bristol was 1:0 for Bradford. This is last match for Windass before five-match suspension so he will for sure give everything from himself and try to score.I hope for home advantage and poor Bristol away record. So Bradford win here

Hereford is playing one of the poorest Conference teams at the moment.Let's just say that Canvey gained only 1 point in 5 last games when scoring only 2 during that time.Their last win was at home to Grays 2:1 but it was at te beginning of january.Hereford on the other hand seems to be back on track after poor season start and now they are gaining many points.Pretty good away record and good form lately.Last game at Canvey ended in comfortable 4:0 Hereford win.I really don't see how Canvey can fight with Hereford when they don't create many goal opportunities and don't score goals.I am on Hereford here.

Slightly harsh on us there, we've only lost 2 in the last 5 and that was to Southend and Bournemouth away (both have got good home records) on Tuesday we beat Bournemouth 2-0, missed 2 penalties and could have been 3 up before we even scored with all the chances we created.

I'd be extremely wary about backing a Swindon victory if i were you.

3 for me.

10pts Swindon to beat Rotherham 2.00 Betfair

Swindon have turned their season around and are unbeaten at home since November and that run includes a win against Colchester over christmas at a time that Colchester were going on their good run. They entertain Rotherham who I think it's fair to say are in complete disarray off the field and that may well get to their players on it. Even money on a home win looks to be a steal here.

5pts Southend to beat Chesterfield 2.84 Betfair

League leaders Southend travel to Chesterfield having lost their last game at Brentford and will want to fight back with a victory here. They are helped by the hosts missing top scorer Wayne Allison. Chesterfield lost at home to Doncaster in midweek and they could well lose a 2nd home game this week.

5pts Oldham to beat Walsall 3.20 Betfair

Oldham go to Walsall fresh from their 3-0 win over Notts Forest in midweek. They don't have the best over away form but Walsall have slid down the table alarmingly in recent weeks particularly since the sale of Fryatt. Walsall also have a few injuries and suspensions which makes the away win overpriced here.

Oh and the tips in here helped me, i ended up shoving Doncaster and Huddersfield in an accumulator that came off
