Suprisingly, Rushden have won 3 and drawn one of their last 4 home games - and that draw was against Grimsby.

Last game they were unlucky away against form team Lincoln, who scored a last minute goal to deny them.

The three sides that have been bottom for most time - Torquay, Rusdhen and Stockport are all picking up some form and hence the drop could be any 2 from a pack of 7-8 clubs.

I'd say Rushden have a fair chance of getting a result here. Orient are not playing well at the moment.

in-form lincoln at ( nothing to play for ) boston looks a value bet to me at 2.90 - lincoln in a dogfight at the top for the last play-off spot, bostons home form over the season is good, and lincolns thus far away is poor but we are into the run-in and that means players will up their performance, added to present good form at lincoln - I reckon the price available is decent.

Cant honestly see another viable betting proposition in this league this weekend, givien the time of year and current league positions - every game has a edge to it.

Its probably the worst time of year to bet on the footie. Sides near the bottom suddenly starting scrapping for results and those near the top start getting the wobbles.

Anyhow early thoughts lean towards Grimsby to see off Bury but again even though form and league position suggests a home win you wouldn't back against Bury scraping something out of this.

I'd have to agree with that - Grimsby v Bury would have been my main pick too here but the odds are not really that attractive.

One that does interest me is Oxford against Notts County - 4.00 does have some value for me. County have been indifferent after a good start to the season.

Oxford are bad too - but they sacked their manager so the 'honeymoon' effect comes into play.

Both teams have won their last game (against Bristol Rovers).

Keith Alexander beat the manager of the month curse as Lincoln manager thanks to a last minute goal in a 2-2 at home with Rushden. (both had two goals each disallowed too) Still Lincoln are in a good run of form and look good for the playoffs, they also like their visits to Boston winning on their past two visits. All ticket affair this being a local derby match and Lincoln have already sold out their 2000 allocation.
Boston are mid table and have a decent enough home record, they come into this on the back of a 5-0 defeat to Mansfield which IMO makes them dangerous but .. I still think Lincoln will win.

Not too much interests me here this weekend.
Could be tempted to lay both Mansfield and Rushden as they have decent sides who enjoy playing away visiting.
Home wins look set for Peterborough and Wycombe and it would be a nice present if Chester can end their run with victory over Cheltenham as they're overdue 3pts!

Just a word of warning for those thinking of backing Grimsby tomorrow. Looks like we may well be missing top scorer Reddy and midfield dynamo Bolland tomorrow. We are probably a better away side, hence our 7 home defeats this season. 4/7 is too short in my opinion.

I fancy Peterborough to do the business against Barnet. Losing to Torquay was not really a surprise (see what I wrote last week) but this is a game they will have to take all the points from if they want to stay in playoff contention, having played a game more than Cheltenham and Lincoln.

Posh have a really good home record - four defeats all season at home - and three of those four were before the end of September, owing to the club's poor start to the season.

Barnet had showed some signs of improvement in recent weeks - especially with new signing Kandol forging a good understanding with Norville, giving them a lot of pace upfront. Both are likely to be missing tommorow as well as captain Ian Hendon.

Peterborough @ 1.68 5/10

Garyfinny you rushden have a fair chance of getting a result against orient. I agree with you on that, but i wouldnt say orient are playing badly seeing as they are unbeaten in their last 6, winning 3 of those.

No games stand out for me this week, i fancy grimsby, but not at them odds. Cheltenham might win against Chester, but their form has to change sometime and i'm not risking it this week.

Reasoning Notts County are a team in poor form at present and Oxford scored their first win in a while midweek. Not as big a price as I'd like but I think Oxford to win is a spot.

Got to fancy Carlisle to turn Darlington over at 6/4!

Ive got a season ticket for Darlington but havnt been for 3 months due to the state of the team. Dont be fooled into thinking were going for the playoffs, we have no chance. Im going today as its about the best local derby we can find at the minute. Carlisle are bringing around 3,500 fans which could out number the home fans.

They score goals for fun and we have all sorts of problems upfront.

Looks like a good price as I expect us to get hammered about 3-0.

Other than that im looking forward to it

I have to work today else I'd be watching my team (Carlisle) against Darlo. Always a great game between this two sides and is the closest thing we have to a derby. I've got 2pts on Bridges to score and that is it for me in this one.

2 bets I like in div 2 this week are Rushdon and Wycombe

Wycombe opponants recent away form has been very poor and I think Wycombe at 1.7ish on betfair are well worth the value.

Rushdon's recent home form I also like and at 3.05ish on betfair i think they are tremendous value.

Good luck with your selections.

Thanks since bridges went to carlisle they just started scoring lots of goals and seem to be the best team in the league.
