Right....I will start.
Although, in their present form, I would not tip Rushden up, there is mileage in a lay of Chester this week. Unsuprisingly the Deviants are short for this match in the light of their current form, but, if the clubs devachat message board is correct, they could be short of 9 or 10 first teamers because of injuries and suspensions. In my view this will stretch their small squad beyond it's limits and, with Rushden likely to play for a point, a lay of Chester on betfair may be the play.
Over to you, david, for a chester fan's view.

As far as Wrecsam are concerned, we do not know whether Lee McEvilly will play or not this weekend. He has had one xray on a possible stress fracture of the foot, but it was inconclusive. he had another one yesterday with the results expected tomorrow. The rumour is, if it is a stress fracture, he could be out for 1-2 months. however, Denis Smith told me last night that, in his view, if he played with it last week he can do the same this week! It may be that any operation is delayed until January, as, this month, we have four games against top 6 sides.
We then get through to January and the rumour is that Foy may return to Liverpool and Ugarte joins us to the end of the season

Good info re Chester . Also like the look of the price for much improved Northampton against Shrewsbury (who are improving too, but mainly at home: 1 defeat in 15 at home; just 2 wins in 16 away).

This stood out a bit for me at first galnce but I tend to avoid Northampton for their wonderful ability to draw at home to teams like Lincoln (17th), Darlington (14th) and Bury (18th), and a loss to Barnet adds to that 'no bet' feeling for me.... This follows successive years of underachieving which I've made more money from avoiding them than betting on them!

Default Jester Pity update

Looks like it is going from bad to worse...my reading of the following is that they will only have sufficient players to name 1 substitute!!
Sod what R and D's record is...they have to be a play now.

Play on! Dec 16 2005

By David Triggs, Chester Chronicle

KEITH Curle insists it's 'game on' tomorrow despite having fewer than 11 fully-fit senior players at his disposal for the home meeting with Rushden and Diamonds.

The Blues manager's selection plans have been thrown into complete turmoil due to the loss of more than half of his squad through either suspension or injury.

It's by some distance the biggest selection crisis Curle has faced since taking over in May, but the Blues boss declared: 'We'll be up and at 'em.

'There's a lot of reasons why we shouldn't do well, but there's a togetherness and willingness at this football club. It's a great leveller but we'll come out fighting.'

City have four players serving one-match bans, a half-fit goalkeeper and two experienced men - Tom Curtis and Phil Bolland - struggling with a virus.

Four players are out with long-term injuries and they were joined in the treatment room yesterday by Justin Walker, who picked up a hamstring problem in training and stands no chance of being fit for tomorrow.

That leaves Curle with just seven senior outfield players to pick from, so he is already resigned to pressing the flu-stricken Curtis and Bolland into emergency service.

The same could apply to teenage keeper Ryan Brookfield, who has a hamstring strain but will have to play if City fail to win permission from the Football League to sign a keeper on an emergency loan.

Despite their troubles, Chester have decided against asking the League if they have a case for postponing the game, even though an 'administrative difficulty' means they are unable to register youth team players to warm the substitutes' bench.

As a result, the Blues will probably be unable to fill four of the five available substitute places, with teenage rookies Tom Curle - son of Keith - and Paul Rutherford left to contest the one remaining place in the team.

Thankfully for the Blues, Rushden head to the Saunders Honda Stadium with one of the worst records in League Two.

But Barry Hunter's men will fancy their chances of capitalising on City's problems, and Curle admitted: 'We're on the ropes. It's backs-against -the-wall stuff so the 11 players who go out there need the backing of the supporters. They've got to be our extra man.

'We've created a wave for the supporters to jump on board - now it's an opportunity for the fans to give us that backing and keep that wave going.'

Players serving one-match bans for picking up five bookings this season are Ryan Lowe, Dave Artell, Carl Regan and Scott McNiven.

Definitely ruled out through injury along with Walker are MacKenzie (broken thumb), Gregg Blundell (thigh), Michael Branch (knee), Sean Hessey (knee).

Branch and Blundell will be sidelined for a further two to three weeks and Hessey for six to eight weeks, while MacKenzie will be out of action for at least eight.

Despite the window for emergency loans having passed, goalkeepers can still be signed in extreme circumstances and Curle was yesterday awaiting the green light from the Football League before making his move.

Grimsby will be in good heart but I have a horrid feeling that Darlington will turn us over again at their place.
Last 3 meetings between us and them have resulted in a 1-0 Darlington win.
1-0 Darlington win 7/1
Darlington win 13/8

But I do hate going against my team....

Football tipper

Why do you think you will lose?

Grimsby are expected to finish well above Darlo this season, you have not got the distraction of the cups which you showed you had the ability to get automatic promotion out of Div 2.

Won't your lads want some revenge on Darlo and to make up for the home defeat last week. Your away form is good.

Darlo had a very good win at Shrewsbury but away wins make you flabby at home in the next game, especially when you got them occaisionally.

I got 2.96 for you on Betfair seems value. I would have thought you had at least 35% chance of a win.

I think earlier in the season you thought you would be well turned over by Newcastle, but it was a closeish game in the end.

Been a while guys..

However, I could not resist this one. Personally I would not be fancying Torquay tomorrow but we are that inconsistent anything can happen.

One thing that is priced wrong is Junior Agago with Fred Done at 11/8 to score anytime. He seems to love playing us, and alike Leroy Lita takes great pride in not just generally scoring one against us but two or three!!

The fact we have let in six goals in our last two games adds to this. He has also just signed a new contract and must certainly be on a high!! We can not handle pace in our defence which is generally the same as when he scored two against us earlier in the season.

All this as a Torquay fan, but 11/8 to score anytime is well worth a look!!

Paul, you have done a great job with the team. The site is as good as ever!

Cheers
Jon

Just opened an account with Fred Done just to take advantage of 2.38 for Agago at anytime!!

Good luck all, I am hoping for a four one Torquay win with a consolation Agago strike!!

Interesting Football Tipper.

I have a season ticket at Darlo but have got to the stage now where I dont even want to go anymore.

I went to Grimsby earlier in the season when we beat you 1-0. We were fortunate in getting 2 penalties but that was a long time ago and we were at out very best.

Dont look too much into our 3-0 away win last weekend against Stockport. I didnt travel but have heard numerous reports that we were second best for the majority and got 2 of the goals very late on. Stockport are also the worst team in the league.

Interesting to see how we follow up on that victory though. We rarely look like scoring and you have a very strong defence. Our home atmosphere is dreadful and would expect Grimsby to have a decent away support.

Couldnt pick a result either way with any confidence. Probably got 1-1 written on it even if we are your bogey team

Darlo v Grimsby postponed (frozen pitch). Also a few in Scotland going the same way.

Quite fancied Chester until I saw their injury list. I still think they'll win though but I'm always a bit wary of backing teams with so many players out.
