Two stand out for me in this league:

Doncaster V Forest - HOME WIN
Doncaster have looked fairly solid at home and have beaten some decent sides. Forest are a totally different team away and have a poor record on the road this season. Tyson is the danger man for Forest but I can't see them coming away from Donny with 3 points.

MK Dons V Southend - AWAY WIN
Southend go from strength to strength and have a great away record. They have probably over achieved since promotion but should be good enough to beat a team facing the drop. Freddy Eastwood is dangerous in front of goal and has done well stepping up a division.

Agree with Mowgli on Doncaster here, they can do for Forest at the Belle Vue.
Not too sure of Southend, MK are a funny side. On their day they can beat anyone but also lose to anyone.
Have fancies for Tranmere, Bristol City, Colchester and Huddersfield too.

colchester look a great bet here, minorly of the rails since jan but have games in hand and the players to get automatic promotion - home to swindon who have won 1 game from 19 aways ( yes 9 draws but these will also have come from inferior teams )

colchester for me 8/13 +

SCUNTHORPE look huge value to me to beat an off-the-boil Chesterfield side who have seen hopes of a play off place scuppered by recent bad results.

The Spirerites have an abysmal home record of late;

Recently Roy Mcfarland has been bemoaning the fact that Centre half and captain Shane Nicholson has been out through injury;

"Nicholson, 35, has been out of action since January after sustaining a knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Walsall, during which time the Blues have won just two of eight League One matches.

Following last Saturday's 4-1 reverse at Tranmere, McFarland conceded that five defeats in the last six games have all but ended his side's hopes of a top six finish, and he insists the injury to his veteran defender has played a part.

"His experience and leadership qualities have definitely been a loss to us," said McFarland. "But we've also had Steve Blatherwick and Reuben Hazell out for several weeks, both of whom have are also experienced defenders.

Nicholson this week, broke down in training and is set to miss the rest of the season. There is also talk about Chesterfield going off the boil as they have reached the 50 point mark and there are also questions being asked about the players commitment fopr the rest of the season - safe in divsion 1 and several have just signed new contracts.

Scunthopre have been pretty good of late. Although they lost to league leaders Southend they have won 3 out of the last 4. Brian Laws seems upbeat about heir chances and recent good. Commenting on their midweek victory and there chances of securing safety asap he said;

"It's still very, very tight down there in the bottom half of the table, Any four from 14 teams could still go down. But this was a fantastic win for us.I think a couple more victories will secure it for us and we still have nine games to go.

Let's hope we can get those wins very quickly We've got to move on now to Chesterfield on Saturday. It's a game that we can call a local derby and it we play like we did in the second half on Tuesday night, then we've got a chance."

The Irons don't seem to have too many injury troubles - just defender Andy Crosby - but a re-jig is expected with Peter Beagrie - making his first start for two months - playing on the left wing. Another small, if elderly boost for Scunthorpe!

The fact Chesterfield have only won 3 (2 away) out of the last 19 suggest a team who's season is petering out and who can be opposed when playing at home. I expect it to be a close game but do think Scunthorpe can get something out of the game.

The Draw or Scunthorpe @ 1.66 (Bet 365) appeals, as does small - medium stakes on Scunthorpe @ 3.75. Safe to say I shall be having a bet on Scunthorpe getting somethign out of the game in one way or another!

It does make you wonder whether some players in the comfort zone at their clubs really want promotion bearing in mind the club if they went up would have to recruit better players. Thats why this time of year its always hard making successfull picks

I fancy Bristol City to beat Gillingham. City have 11 points from their last 5 games, beating scunthorpe, bournemouth and mk dons in the process. This shows they can beat the poorer teams, and Gillingham are a poor team. They haven't won in their last 6 and none of these games have been real toughies. I can't see past a bristol City win here.

I dont think Bristol City will have that easy job against Gillingham. Gills are really poor away from home this season (only Dons are worse), but I think they could take something from this match. Even with their poor recent run in mind, I really dont think Bristol City deserve 1.8 here and that leaves huge value on visitors' side.

Bristol City have few players unavailable and doubtful for the visit of Gillingham. Strikers Marcus Stewart and Mark McCammon are both out injured, while few players have been struggling with illness (David Noble, Scott Brown, Nathan Abbey, Richard Keogh). Gillingham in almost full strength on the other hand.

Bristol City are on better run at the moment, but they already were struggling to score and I cant say that will be easier for them without Stewart and McCammon. Gills are not firing at the moment neither, and draw here looks really possible, but I wouldnt exclide an away win from this match, and Gillingham are due one very soon.

I like the look of Colchester to get back to winning ways today. They've lost their last 6 games, but that includes the game against Chelsea and the 2 legged LDV vans affair against Southend. Looking at the table if they win their games in hand they still have a great shot at Automatic promotion. Purely on stats 11 wins from 18 at home gives them statistical odds of 1.61 (1.68 available on betfair). Swindon have improved since Onura took the hot seat and had the usual great run under a new boss. However the last couple of results suggest the wheels may have just begun to come off. 3 defeats and a draw from their last 4, including the 7-1 mauling at Forest. They've only won one away game all season, and I don't see that changing today.

My other fancy is Oldham at Bradford. Oldham's away record is better than Bradford's home form. Bradford have drew their last 5 in a row at home, the most recent 3 against Bristol City, Swindon and Tranmere. Oldham themselves were on a nice little 4 game winning streak without conceeding a goal until they came unstuck against Rotherham. I'm hoping that was just a blip and they will get back to winning ways today. Oldham are just 3 points off the playoffs, so theres a lot still to play for.

I hope you backed Oldham Chala. I was at the game today (Bradford fan unfortunately) and Oldham were all over us. We were dreadful, the tactics were all wrong and within the first ten minutes you knew it was going to be an Away win.
We have Blackpool at home tuesday night and based on that performance and our dreadful home form Blackpool looks like a good bet and they'll probably be available at decent odds.
Oldhams best player was Wellens but he went off injured and they will miss him if he's out for a while. He absolutely ripped us to bits.
