ReasoningPalace are in form at the right time, similar to when they reached the paly offs a couple of years ago, the momentum and confidence they have will be hard for Leicester to play against. City are doing ok with the new Manager but hardly look like world beaters at Norwich last week. Think Palace will sneak it but will take the draw out of the equation.

I was all for the 1-1 in tonights match and thought with the favourable odds that laying Palace was a fair idea! but?

Leicester look to be clear of relegation IMO unless they go on an horror run from now until the end of the season, whilst Palace still have an outside chance of going up automatically, and if they win tonight will move above Leeds & Watford into 3rd place.

Palace' main striker Andy Johnson returns from concussion which is a boost and a win here will all but confirm their playoff place.

Leicester v Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace are in good form and they are coming off the back of a 3-1 win over promotion rivals Watford, they will be confident of a win here to keep them in place for the play-offs. Team news -
Richard Stearman is a major doubt for Leicester boss Rob Kelly ahead of the visit of promotion hopefuls Palace.
The defender (knee) has not trained all week and Rab Douglas (illness) sits out, but Paddy McCarthy, Patrick Kisnorbo and Joey Gudjonsson are fit.
Andrew Johnson will almost certainly play for Palace despite the head injury he received against Watford last week.
Danny Butterfield (pelvis) returns for the first time since October, but Danny Granville (knee) is not yet match fit.
Palace 10/10 @ 2.5 stanjames

I have gone for Leicester, they have improved and 3.20 is long odds for a team at home to another team that lost 2-1 at Derby in their last away outing. I would not quite say Leicester have nothing to play for.

tonight's result just goes to show the 'nothing to play for theory is a load of crap !

Often teams with everything to play for feel too much pressure and can't get it done with nothing to play for teams able to relax and play well.
So worth looking for odds that are inflated by bookies for teams with 'everything to play for'

not much going on is league at the top with tonights result pretty much confirming top 2 and 4 playoff spots.. but definitely think Watford are a candidate to oppose

Not with our away form they're not

Seriously though, we hate them, they hate us so there's more than enough to play for. From our point of view our season loses all meaning at 2pm on Sunday. We're out for revenge after the return fixture where a few words were exchanged about their tactics, we accused them of cheating they claimed it was managing the game. They'll want to take 6pts off us we'll be out to stop that and end their automatic hopes at the same time.

If you follow form they've won 1 of their last 5 and we've not lost in 3. If you go by past meetings we've only lost twice in about 20 years, last time we played there we won 2-1 despite being in a lower league.

We go there with no new injury worries and with a bit of confidence behind us, we've stopped conceding so many goals which is a help too.

I'm not going to predict the result, I just hope and pray we win!!

Stoke could easily take something from Ipswich I think.

Trector Boys look like the old good side from 2 seasons ago but from only one aspect - they allow loads of goals again. But another side of story looks awful, as they struggle to score and I cant see this change against Stoke as they could be forced to field defensive player Richard Naylor as emergency striker.

Stoke were on fine run lately with few respectable results against some of stronger Championship sides, and they simply dont deserve to be underdogs agaisnt out of form Ipswich.

Stoke(+1/4) @2.04 for me, high stakes.

Wolves v Coventry match is priced completely wrong. Both sides are struggling lately, with too many bad results, and Wolves although better side can't be such favorites against Coventry.

Wolves will be without services of striker Kenny Miller and Naylor and Anderton are doubtfull, while Coventry can field almost best 11. And thus I cant understand why few bookies slashed their prices for a home win here, which were already too low and unrealistic.

Difference between these two sides is really not that big at the moment, and although Wolves were one of play-off candidates before season started, that's their results which kept them several points away from sixth place at the moment.

Coventry can win games like this, and with solid record against Wolves in last couple of seasons, they are definately worth a punt here.

Coventry(+1/2) @2.10 is my bet.

Sport Football (Eng - Champ)
Event Leeds v Plymouth
Selection Plymouth
Strength 5/10
Date 08/04/2006
Bookmaker/Price Betfair @ 6.20 (Back)
Reasoning Do Leeds want to go up? They have only won one of their last 6 matches and lost or drawn to some pretty beatable opposition. I fancy that run to continue against a Plymouth side who beat fellow play-off contenders Wolves last week.
Sport Football (Eng - Champ)
Event Sheffield Utd v Hull
Selection Hull
Strength 5/10
Date 08/04/2006
Bookmaker/Price Betfair @ 7.00 (Back)
Reasoning Massive odds for a side that beat Leeds last week. Sheffield Utd, like Leeds, have only won one in six and Hull have been impressive of late. 7.0 is just too good value for me to turn down
Sport Football (Eng - Champ)
Event Wolves v Coventry
Selection Coventry
Strength 5/10
Date 08/04/2006
Bookmaker/Price Betfair @ 5.10 (Back)
Reasoning Another of the play off gitterers. Coventry are a resurrgent force in the Championship and playing with great skill and confidence. They have strikers which are on song and against a nervous Wolves looking over their shoulders I fancy 5.1 as good value.

I'll put few quids on Norwich not to lose at Preston. Preston find it hard to score at the moment though they can still dominate the game. Norwich were beaten to dead at home in the reverse fixture, so they will be all out for a revenge today.
CS 1-1 or 0-0

Cheers Kev - and exactly why I think you can forget about Luton's away form for this one and the bookies are pricing based on Watfords 'need' to win.
Will probably lay watford with a small bet but also looking at Over .. do you think they'll be goals ?

I do mate. You've got 2 of the top 5 scorers in the division on show - King and Howard, only Crewe have conceded more than us and we're both in the top 6 scorers in the league. I can see both teams scoring so the over would have a good chance.
