ReasoningGreat value here IMO - Southampton are in the groove playing some sensational football. Rasiak is banging in the goals and there is a threat all over the pitch with the likes of Idiakez, Wright-Phillips and Skacel in the side.

Gregory had a good start at QPR beating Hull but this is a completely different task. They lack the quality to go to a place like Southampton and take anything away from the game. I expect this price to come in before the off so will take the early value

ReasoningCardiff are top of the league and playing great football. They showed their class at southend last week and with quality all over the pitch they should be too strong for an inconsistent Wolves. McCarthy is steadying the ship but they are not geunine promotion contenders and down at Ninian park Cardiff will have too much quality with the likes of Parry, Chopra and Thompson in great form.

I'll probably disagree with majority here, but I'm tempted with odds on Wolves at Cardiff.

Cardiff were simply briliant this season and there's nothing really speaking against them, but they're bit short @1.8 which is average price, and 2.00 at few places is probably fair price for a home win here.

Wolves on the other hand surely not impressive and they are far from being consistent side, but I have a feeling they could make major surprise this weekend.

Cardiff still without home defeat this season, they are playing great attacking football, but I think there's value in away win here @4.00 and Wolves will probably be my bet here.

i'm not saying anything about the city - instinct says that wolves may take something home with them, but the city are outplaying my hopes this season!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Match: Southampton – QPR
Pick: Southampton –1
Odds: 2.09 @ Pinnacle
Stakes: 8/10

Analysis: Southampton defeat of Millwall was followed by a good win away at Burnley after having gone behind twice. The latter win was important because it helped Southampton close in on the leaders and now with Birmingham’s form beginning to stutter, Southampton would make sure their efforts are not wasted by following up with yet another win here. Games between these two sides have been close last season but with Southampton’s Rasiak and Skacel in simply red-hot form with the former having already grabbed 8 goals this season and Skacel have 4 assists; it would be a tough day for the defense of QPR. I fancy Southampton to edge this encounter 2-0.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Match: Cardiff – Wolverhampton
Pick: Cardiff –0.5
Odds: 2.00 @ Pinnacle
Stakes: 8/10

Analysis: Both Cardiff and Wolverhampton came away with wins against minnows in the last round. Now they face each other in what could possibly be a promotional 6-pointer in Wolverhampton’s eyes. With a strikeforce not exactly firing on all cylinders, their success has largely been due to a staunch defense. Having conceded a mere 6 goals all season is an achievement in the Championship. The last time they met an attacking Preston, they capitulated. In Cardiff, they have the most potent strikeforce in the Championship spearheaded by Chopra who has contributed 6 goals and 6 assists already this season. Even worse is the fact that goals are coming from all over the park and defenders are also getting a look-in. I do fancy Cardiff here simply due to the fact that I see more goals coming from them than Wolves can muster. Cardiff to win 2-0.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Match: Hull – Crystal Palace
Pick: Crystal Palace
Odds: 2.11 @ Pinnacle
Stakes: 8/10

Analysis: Crystal Palace came away from their previous match with a lot of positives. They dominated the game from start to finish and if not for the lack of sharpness, they would have won very comfortably. The apparent problems would have been addressed in the training ground I am sure. Now they face bottom dwellers Hull who in contrast were outclassed by QPR in their last match. Performances such as that only serve to justify their current position. Crystal Palace would hope to capitalize on the factors working for them here and I fancy them to do it well against a dismal Hull. 3-1 Crystal Palace win.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has options ahead of Saturday's match at Ninian Park. Striker Jay Bothroyd is fit again after missing Wolves' win over Stoke last weekend with an eye injury. Does he return to the side or will McCarthy stick with Jemal Johnson and Leon Clarke who played up from last Saturday. Clarke, the player to replace Bothroyd, scored against the Potters.

Meanwhile Wolves have brought in David Wheater on loan from Middlesbrough.

"David is a highly-rated young centre back and I am delighted he's coming here," McCarthy told the club's official website.
"We need more players in this department, especially with Mark Clyde still unavailable through injury."

Wheater is expected to be in the squad for the game against the Bluebirds.

Cardiff City are set to name an unchanged line up when Wolves come to town on Saturday.

City are looking for a third straight victory and a continuation of the free scoring would be nice as well. City have scored 10 goals in their last three games. Obviously I'd take a 1 - 0 win right now but in front of a potential sell out the Bluebird will be looking to win in style.

Dave Jones will welcome old friends to Ninian Park. Wolves were his employers before Cardiff although he did have a several month breeak inbetween jobs.

Last season at Molineux Jones received a warm welcome from the Wolves fans. Jones of course took them to the Premiership. A feat he's hoping to achieve here.

I would add about Wheater - that he scored with his first touch for Wolves in a practice match against Walsall on Wednesday. He usually has a chance every game.

He played for Doncaster on loan last season and played 4/5 games for the Boro first team last season. He looks a good prospect to make it in the higher divisions, but he is still very young at 18 or 19? for a centre half.

Southampton for this weekend to see off a struggling QPR side.

Burley has put together a good squad of players and recent results have motored them up the table. Confidence should certainly be high after last weeks away win at Burnley and with Rasiak banging the goals in it should be a comfortable home win.

Colchester v Ipswich seems good value at 2.12 for over 2.5 goals on the betting exchanges.

6 of Colchester's last 9 games have had more than 2.5 goals, while 7 of Ipswich's last 9 games have had more than 2.5.

Don't disagree.

5pts Colchester vs Ipswich Over 2.5 Goals 2.12 Betfair

Colchester and Ipswich are both good attacking sides who score bags of goals. Both also have a tendancy to concede a few as well. Ipswich's form has improved dramatically throughout September as have their Anglian rivals so I'm expecting an open, slick freeflowing game tonight with a few goals. Col U have Cureton on good form and Lee and Clarke are scoring the goals for Ipswich so I'm confident we'll see 3 or more here.

I think I have picked up good prices on Coventry (2.06) and Hull (3.10).

Coventry have played well at home for 9 months now and Plymouth are not the best of travellers. Laddies have it 4/5 Coventry, so they think Coventry have at least 50% of home victory, so do I.

Hull is a tricky sort of place to go. I never fancy Hull on the road much, but I expect their home form to pick up as the squad and manager settle in. They have a reasonable squad and good manager. I would have thought they have a better than 33% chance of beating a Palace side that doesn't look as good as last season. The Hull fans may add a little spice to the atmosphere as Taylor returns who left them for Palace.

3pts Luton 0AH vs Barnsley 2.21 Pointbet

Luton traditionally have a good record at Oakwell, they've won 2 of the last 3 there and are playing some good football right now even though the deserved wins are only draws. Barnsley have keeper Nick Colgan suspended for the game and his replacement didn't fill anyone with any confidence last week at Preston. Sol Davis is back for Luton and he's a hugely influential player for us and I expect a high scoring Luton win here.

10pts Barnsley vs Luton Over 2.5 Goals 1.95 Sporting Odds

The last meeting between these sides, the season before, yielded 7 goals in the Oakwell game as Luton won 4-3. Both sides are conceding goals right now and both sides also have a hot striker. Chuck in Barnsley's calamitous replacement goalie and the recipe for an over 2.5 delivers a tasty meal.

4pts Coventry -0.5AH vs Plymouth 1.96 Ladbrokes

Coventry are an excellent side at the Ricoh Arena and not many sides leave there with anything. Plymouth have had a few good results on the road but this truly is one of the hardest places to go in the division. Coventry only have 1 change, at right back with Whing replacing McNamee which won't be too major a change and I think they'll see off the Pilgrims here.

4pts Derby -0.5AH vs Southend 1.88 Bet1128

Billy Davies seems to be making an impact at Derby now and there's no surprise that their good run has co-incided with Steven Howard finally scoring goals for his new club. Having watched him for 5 years I know that he is one of the best strikers in the division and such a tough character to play against. Howie is sure to cause the Southend defence some problems and with Lupoli back from suspension I think the Rams will have enough to win here against a Southend side who look pretty but aren't cutting the mustard away from Roots Hall.

3pts WBA -0.5AH vs Leeds 2.05 Pointbet

I saw WBA play last week and I have to say they was very good, particularly in the 2nd half and actually scored a perfectly good 3rd goal so could have won. They have such a strong midfield that I feel they can get on top of Leeds in that area and with a combination of Ellington/Phillips/Hartson up front they will score goals. Paul McShane had an excellent game at the back last week and a repeat of that form could see Leeds go home empty handed.

Birmingham v Leicester

Leicester are struggling right now and have doubts over the fitness of striker Matt Fryatt today. Birmingham are under huge pressure from their fans to bounce back to the Premier League and need to keep in touch with Cardiff at the top. If they want to go back up then their home form will be crucial. So far its been solid and it can continue today as Leicester have yet to win away from the Walkers.

Birmingham 6/10 @ 1.78 betfair
