adding caution to the QPR game today, we have lost Fitz Hall to injury & that will leave a gap in the centre of defence, Stewart is able enough but only when he plays alongside a decent player. It will either be Mancienne on loan from Chelsea or Connolly that fills the spot with the other playing right back.

Our home form has improved greatly & we do well at home vs Bristol City. It will be a big crowd today & i am sure our boys will be up for it after losing 2 games on the road.

2.3 is best price for a home win which disappoints me against the team in 2nd place. I was hoping for 2.6-2.8 at least today. I dont think there is any value in that bet at all. I will stick with having Stewart 1st goal @ around 33's but i also think Busacky will be back on the scoresheet today.

Problem is we're not the best of sides on the road Bowles. We'lll battle all day long, but tbh, we've stole quite a lot of our points on the road this season. Added to that we have no real cutting edge up front, I'd happily take a point today. If only Johnson knew how to sign a decent striker (Adebola FFS) we'd have the makings of a side that could challenge for promotion, but I see us tailing off in the second half of the season.

he always scores against us mate! I was gutted when i saw he was playing

Not sure we can contain him with that defence.

Looking forward to it, should be a cracking game & atmosphere today.

Spoke to a Watford fan who was at the recent cup game when Wolves thumped them. He says the manager rested players. Seems to think they're prepared to sacrifice the cup for the league push this season.
Something to think about?

3 games for me today in this league.

Scunthorpe v Charlton

With Andy Reid gone to play for Ireland (Sorry Sunderland!!!), Much will depend on how Charlton do without his playmaking. I was still tempted on the 10/1 offered by Boylesports on him scoring first - Muppets!!! . This is the company who though I didnt know enough about football to be employed with them. Pot, Kettle,Black!!! . Anyway, back to basics and Charlton should have too much here. Scunny have the joint worst scoring record in the Division and have conceded 45, winning just 6 times. Charlton will see this as 3 points for the taking and its time to start a decent push for automatic promotion - only 4 points off top so today is a must win especially with WBA having a tricky test with Burnley

Charlton @ 2.28 Betdaq

Sheff Wed v Ipswich

Betfair are just too big here for Improving Sheff Wed. They simply should not be 4th bottom. Ipswich have just won 1 of their last eight games although that was at home to WBA surprisingly enough. The long trip to cold Sheffield wont be welcomed either. Wednesday at home are a decent side and can win this one.

Sheff Wed @ 2.78 Betfair ( 2.82 available for small sums)

Colchester v Sheff Utd

This should be an open affair with plenty of goals. Both sides have good attack minded styles. Colchester have scored enough goals to be in the top 6 but they have conceded a shocking 47. With Beattie, Lisbe, Sharpe, Sheringham, Stead and Hulse (Why did I sat Stead ?? ) all on show - This will be a game for attackers and not defending. The result could go anyway so Im sticking to the overs as my Banker of the day.

+2.5 goals @ 2.2 Centrebet

Although I see no problem with opposing Ipswich right now, I'd be wary of making statements like yours - Wednesday are 4th bottom on merit, we have been dreadful this season apart from sporadic good performances. Our defence is an utter shambles since Johnson went back to Derby, the only bright spot at the minute is Kavanagh signing on loan, he should really help us in there.

Ask any Wednesday fan right now and they will tell you they are crapping their pants that we may get relegated if we don't improve massively.

The Owls problem is confidence in my opinion. They have a better squad than half the league yet find themselves down there. I think they are very similar to West Ham (My team) last season. Im really confident that they will turn it around and finish mid table bit you guys dont seem too sure and ye know more than me....

I know what you mean about confidence, that is a huge part of any team's performances. But we went on a good run, confidence returned, and unbelievable basic errors at the back (step forward Lee "6 easy chances presented per game" Bullen, God bless him. Retire Lee, you're past it!).

Interesting signings in Showumni and especially Kavanagh, and I do think today is winnable against a team that travels so poorly. But don't look at us and be deceived, we are a very ordinary team indeed, too many players blow hot and cold (Tudgay, Johnson), a crowd that sometimes backs the team (the comeback against Hull, incredible noise against the Blades) at other times can be our own worst enemy.

Often the bookies trim our odds simply because we are a relatively big-ish club for this level, when in reality our team is pretty bad. I don't think we'll go down, but we aren't up to much and a handful of injuries would see us in terrible strife.

And as if on cue, ex-Owl (and Blade) Alan Quinn puts us behind.

Hold your horses, belter from Tudgay, he's hit form in the last 3 games; if he can stay like this then he's a great player to have, its just about whether he keeps his work rate up.

Chala

that was a bit too easy mate 3-0 to the r's with another 2 goals from Agyemang (Kevshat rated him worse than Furlong, shows what he knows!)

City were dire 1st half & didnt create anything, only started playing at 0-3.
