| Preston (2.30 canbet). Charlton booked two wins so far, but they hardly impressed. Credit to them for 4-2 win against Reading, but other two games were pretty poor, although they managed to beat Swansea 2-0 in opening match. Preston managed to beat Palace and Ipswich so far, followed with draw aganst Sheff Wed. They started season much better than expected, and I think they are great price to win against Charlton. Home advantage should be the difference in this match.

| Sheff Utd (1.83 coral, ladbrokes) Blades are one of the direct promotion contenders in my opinion. Narrow defeat in first round at Birmingham was followed with some great performances in league, and in League Cup, where they managed win against Huddersfileld. While Blades with several first team players rested saw off Huddersfiel, Cardiff on the other hand lost 3 players in midweek cup game against MK Dons, and who face injury crisis for this trip to Bramal Lane. Home win for me.

We looked stronger than we had in the last 3 years. It would be just like last season if we screwed this one up today but my advice is not to touch it. | |

| Picks Watford v Ipswich Town 2.37 3.35 3.35 My PICK OF THE DAY. I don't usually go that big for my own favourites BUT I think with their good start Watford has managed to hid the big losses in their team and that shows in the odds now. Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday 2.00 3.40 4.50 Gorka Pintado can hit 20 goals in this league and Swansea 70...many SW's forwards out injured once again Sheffield United v Cardiff City 1.92 3.55 5.00 Gary Speed really IS the MAN for SheffU to keep their team together and it's a very good squad of player. Odds are short though Wolverhampton Wanderers v Nottingham Forest 1.85 3.60 4.70 Wolverhampton and SU are my tips for places 2 and 1 in this Championship. Forest can be dangerous but their defence haven't maybe looked that good (surprisingly for a team of Calderwood's). Burnley v Plymouth Argyle 2.00 3.35 4.40 Burnley has been afwul I admit but they are not really that bad man for man. So a with win vs. Plymouth they at last should do themselves some justice. Tail ends (all these matches/also picks are in order of the strengh of my belief...) Barnsley v Derby County 2.55 3.55 2.86 Almost a pick I think When Derby finally get their heads sorted out they have enough quality to even win matches, they won midweek in Carling cup so I expect them get a good star today. After all the many players have got used to each other by now. 36th time lucky,I bet... Doncaster Rovers v Coventry City 2.37 3.45 3.35 With Westwood maybe back in goal and with tight defending Coventry can keep their own net intact and maybe score with a counter attack Norwich City v Birmingham City 3.35 3.45 2.30 With all their forwards there's no point for Brum to play defensively even away from home. The odds are short though but they'll either WIN or losewith this year's team. Bristol City v Queens Park Rangers 2.40 3.45 3.15 QPR is a big team this season BC without McCombe be in trouble aerially here. Preston North End v Charlton Athletic 2.30 3.40 3.30 Very tight match. Preston definsively good with a good midfield also, but Charlton have more scoring options in their team. Soton-Blackpool already started and going on still 0-0 on television in front of me And Crystal Palace will go back to basics(defending) so their match in Reading is very close to a draw but I don't pick draws so an away win then for me there... | [quote=red_impact;1169970] Barnsley - Derby Saturday 30 aug 16.00 Bet: 1a, 2.50 Ladbrokes, Bet1128.com, Stan James Bet 2: Hcp X, oddgoalwin for Barnsley. Hume could prove quite an asset for Barnsley. I also expect Barnsley to give 110% tomorrow and with Hume on the pitch the home team should draw the longest straw. 2-0 Hume one goal.. 1 of 2 bets won..
