| Hello all, I have done a season match bet at the start of the football season 2007/2008 I have backed west ham to finish ahead of boton/sheffield utd to finish ahead of sheffield wednesday and Charlton to fininsh ahead of wolves. This was a £5,000 treble. I am only worried about the charlton/wolves part of the bet. The treble pays around £18,500.I have £5,000 available to cover the bet if, as I fear wolves finish the season ahead of charlton. Has anyone any ideas how I can claw back my original £5,000 treble? or even profit. I was going to back wolves in the last five games of the season at £1000 per game, but this could cost me if they lose to many games and charlton still do not finish above them. Any help would be great. Cheers Garry Last edited by 31GARRY; 25-03-2008 at 21:24. |

| Hi Garry, welcome to the PL. This is a tough one. I've had a look around, and can't see any match markets on the internet. However if you go into a couple of your local bookies, they will give you a price on pretty much anything. Tell them exactly what you want and they will ring up the pricing team and give you a price. Unfortunately with Wolves currently 1 point a head of Charlton with a game in hand, I doubt you'd get any better than 1/2. ![]() Looking at their remaining fixtures though, Charlton look like they have the easier run in, and most interestingly Wolves go to Charlton next. Were Charlton to win this game, the odds would swing and you'd probably get around 8/11. It all depends how risk averse you are though, as obviously if Wolves won, you'd have no choice but to let the bet ride.

| Thankyou for the reply. I never thought of going to the bookies and asking. At the start of the season I thought that Charlton were the side if any would let me down.I I started match betting 4 years ago. The first year I made £21,228 second year £13,280 last year I lost £5,000. I did think of backing wolves draw no bet and doubling up with whoever charlton play also as a draw no bet double. I have become an absolute expert on Charlton and do not feel that they will do to well for the rest of the season. Ah well I live in hope. Cheers Garry |

| If it goes to the last game of the season and the bet still isnt decided you will be able to cover it via bets on Wolves and Chartons respective final games but until then, I agree with Chala - you might struggle.

| Backed Charlton at start of season for the title but they are so inconsistent they might win 2 of their remaining games or all of them, you just never know. Wolves are also inconsistent and with the pair playing each other at the weekend, id let the bet ride mate. They still have a fair chance. Welcome to PL as well mate. |

| In a similar predicament to you mate just lower stakes. I've done a nine-fold and eightfold from nine. I staked a total of £20 and if all nine come out i get a return of just over £700 on the following: TOTTENHAM v Newcastle MAN CITY v Birmingham PLYMOUTH v Colchester SHEFF UTD v Sheff Wed SWANSEA v Yeovil MILLWALL v Gillingham ROCHDALE v Mansfield WYCOMBE v Brentford STOCKPORT v Morecambe My only worry is Millwall coming above Gillingham. I think i'm just going to wait a couple of weeks as Millwall play at home to Gillingham soon, and Gillingham have a couple of difficult games beforehand so hopefully results will go my way. Good luck with your bet but i've had a look at the fixtures in Championship and feel it could come down to the last couple of games of the season before there positions will be confirmed. Hope it goes well for you. |

Think a lot of bookies do them at the beginning of the season but with both of us having Sheff Utd and Sheff Wed matched up it's probable we both bet on Ladbrokes.

| The treble was at Ladbrokes. You can also ask them for any treble. William hill have always given great odds when I have done a season match bet. I wanted Charlton v southampton, instead of wolves. If it goes to the last game of the season think I will make a profit either way. Ah well pease keep your fingers crossed for me. Im only a postman I need all the money I can get. Cheers |

Ladbrokes have it online just before the season starts for all 92 teams in the football league against teams they think is closest match up e.g. it will be Man United against Chelsea, and Arsenal against Liverpool etc.

At present Tottenham are above Newcastle on goal difference. Tottenham have got to play Bolton (h), Reading (a) and Liverpool (h), while Newcastle have to play West Ham (a), Chelsea (h) and Everton (a). My worry is Tottenham's players have basically been on holiday since their League Cup win while Newcastle are playing well and picking up points. A month ago i consdidered this match up done and dusted. I'm more comfortable with Millwall coming above Gillingham as they have a four point lead and superior goal difference meaning Gillingham have to get six points from there last two games. It would be typical if my team was the one that let me down, especially as Tottenham were the worse price out of all the match ups. I want to cheer Newcastle on but not too much now we've won our most important game against the mackems. ![]() |

| Thanks aliando and WHUpunter. referring to Millwall coming above Gillingham i think the turning point was Millwall getting a late equaliser at home to Gillingham, but absolutely delighted my bet has paid off. Will look to do the same thing next season hopefully. |
