Correct Score Betting - The Punters Lounge

Really annoyed because I read a post yesterday which started me on a correct score investigation. Have found what i think is good info now I can't find the thread. I thought I should post anyway.

The thread was talking about covering correct score bets for short price tesm - namely - 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 2-1 ans 3-1. I thought I would check it out for the Olf Firm. I knocked up a quick spreadsheet and was able to work out that it would cost about £36 to win £50 (varying stakes based on odds) so for each game each week you either lose 36 or win 50.

Well, after the first three weeks, I would have been down £216 after 3 straight weeks without a win

by the end of the 11th week, Rangers 2-0 defeat of my beloved Dundee would have had me £154 up

and by the end of the 18th week, I would have been £682 ahead

Recent results would have reduced the pot to £394 ahead. I am gonna start to use this formula - just kicking myself that I didn't join the PL earlier - could have been sunning myself abroad on my winnings !!

as a by the way, I am counting 0-0's as loses. i think I read that BSQ return stakes for 0-0 - off to check and if so the winnings would be higher .....

Welcome to the board Andy!

The thread may have been "liverpool to win @ 1.72" which is still on this page.
Good luck with this method, it is a bet I have started to gain confidence in again, choose your games wisely.

Infact Andy, having scoured the coupon today, of all the games Rangers seems to be the one where we can obtain most value.

Best odds on Rangers to beat Dunfermiline = 1/7

Now assuming we think Rangers can win (?) the main factor is, can Dunfermiline score??? This is vital because you can go down the road of 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, or 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 2-1, 3-1. (or even a mix of the two plans)...

Looking at some of Dunfermiline's results I would say YES they can score. So sticking to the original five scores I use there is some fantastic value out there:

1-0 9.00 UKB/Stanley
2-0 8.00 UKB
3-0 7.50 general
2-1 13.00 Stanley
3-1 12.00 general

euqates to around 1.89 (almost 10-11)

you can even include 4-1 @ 15.00 = 1.68

Danny - thanks for the info. I guess I need to get more patience because I jumped into BSQ and placed all the best there - mainly because of the 0-0 rule.

I know where you are coming from regards choosing the games etc but I am gonna start with the premise that sticking with the 5 scores would have returned a significant profit. I would kick myself if I started to add some judgement which then cost me money. I guess it's the same principal as changing your lottry numbers based on analysis.

Bets are for Celtic and Rangers and we'll see how it goes. Hardest thing will be cheering Celtic and Rangers victories !!!!

I saw it last week and thought of having a dabble. Would be interesting to combine bruise's big 4 thread with this one to see which one makes more... just concentrating his teams but using this method of betting...

Didn't do Celtic, but did do Barcelona (1-0) - thread posted up much earlier in European section. Not much response....

I'd keep your own thread going in Sys & Strat Danny and as per the other thread maybe a weekly thread in Brit to post and discuss possibilities on correct scores for the weekend etc.

Call it CORRECT SCORE BETTING 15th JAN or something and then you can all talk correct scores without it being lost in the divisional threads or being talked about all ove your Sys and Strat thread.
