That is a big price, definitely. I have to say, though, I also think it is a more realistic price for Lewes. I don't see them waltzing this - Havant and Eastleigh are stronger outfits than last term, and I'm backing full-time Fisher to go well. I could be totally wrong, and it's fair to say that Lewes are attracting plenty of attention, but I don't think they are this season's Weymouth. I'm having a look at them in pre-season soon, so I reserve the right to totally change my opinion!

I'm happy to have got 16's on Skybet with H and W when they were only taking the bets over the phone. Some serious value that i hope to possibly trade off of with if things don't turn out so well!

That was a seriously big price - and well done for bagging it! I think they'll go very well, though I'm disappointed with the prices left now. I see Eastleigh have signed Jefferson Louis, who should do a good job for them. They need him, with a couple of strikers out longish term. What do you think of the Lewes prices? I can't fathom why they are such big favourites, other than weight of punting money.

They've been there or there abouts the last few seasons and the bookies tend to take that as one of the strongest points to reflect the odds they give out, how Cambridge are worth the 9's offered by stan james i think it was are ridiculous. I've also had a little on Eastleigh at 10's, Aldershot at 20's and a accy on Bath, Chelmsford and Burscough. Think i'll probably leave it there and look to get some value from early season games now.

Some of the prices are way out of line - Cambridge C shorter than Fisher is mad, like putting Spurs behind Reading in the Premiership betting. Take your point about Lewes, Chalmers, and that must be the reason: it's easier for the compilers to look at last season's table than find out what's been happening. But when you consider that Eastleigh and Havant & W look very much stronger than last season, I think the compilers must be thinking that Lewes are the only team to have bought well. I'm annoyed I missed that 16s on Havant, though - I'm happy to have taken the 16s on Fisher but that's still there. 16s on Havant is a distant memory, and is likely to remain so.

Fisher must have liked the look of Margate keeper Paul Nichols, who's not the tallest but gave a first-half masterclass in their friendly last week, as they've signed him and he was playing today in their 1-0 defeat at Chelmsford today.

Justin Edinburgh was very hacked off with the two Fisher performances at Margate and Chelsmford, and has handed out a very public dressing down to his players. He also kept them locked in at Chelmford for three hours, according to the website. Charlie Taylor has left the club too, which is a blow to their chances.

Another five conceded by Fisher tonight, at Champion Hill to Orient's reserves. Their pre-season is going very poorly, so I'll have to tell myself that friendlies mean nothing and that 16s is still dripping with value.

Paul Doswell has confirmed that Francis Benali has signed for Eastleigh. I'm not sure that a defender in his late 30s who hasn't kicked a ball in anger for a season and a bit will add to a decent defence. They've gone off the boil a bit in pre-season too since beating Southampton, with losses to Oxford U and Bashley. Lewes beat a QPR XI 2-0 last night, helped by the fact that Tommy Dochety was sent off on HT for a second yellow.

I don't see much value there myself except possibly the Mighty SU's. We are away at Braintree on Saturday and have proved to be pretty fit, the new management team seem to have done alot of work on this and things seem to be looking up. We played well after a slightly shaky start down in Leatherhead winning 5-1 at a canter after going 1-0 down, the second time in a week we've come from behind to win. No big deal that you say but it's the first time since NYD 2005 we've managed it! I believe it was Braintree at pretty much full strength that were beaten by Hendon 3-0 at the weekend with Edwards at the back the only one missing. At 9/4 i think i'll have a point on us anyway

That Hendon result was one of the strangest of pre-season. I think we're going to see just how much Alex Revell meant to Braintree in the next couple of months, and 9/4 is not a bad price. Might be worth hanging on for a little bit more, mind. I've a couple more I'm interested in in this section but will wait for other books.

Sporting Odds coming up 5/6 about Havant - another point for me at that price.

Stan James Conference South prices have Basingstoke at 5/4 against Thurrock. I've added a point. A point also on Eastleigh - 5/4 to win at Bedford. Pretty much everyone is offering that price.
