Colchester got off to a flyer last season and led the table through the first few furlongs if I remember right last season.It would be easy to get carried away with that 3-0 win at Sheff.Wed,but still to early in the season to have a serious bet.They have what looks to be an excellant manager in Parkinson,if he can get the defence to stop leaking so many goal,this team should improve on last seasons league postion.

All the so called favourites failed to do the business Saturday, one of the surprise winners Peterboro deserve a chance in my book to keep their unbeaten start @ a maybe generous 13/5 (Bet 365) at Bradford.

Boro should not be underestimated IMO this year, Barry Fry has recruited well over the summer in Ireland Kennedy and most of all Southend's leading marksman Leon Constantine. Boro only lost twice in 6 meetings v the top 3 last year and always impress me as a team with the potential to do the unexpected. Fry's men warmed up for the new campaign with a 5-0 away demolision of Darlington then deservidly upstage fancied Tranmere 1-0 at London Rd on Saturday. Posh had their problems at home last year but away days brought the joint fewest goals conceded in the section.

Opposing Bradford paid off Saturday though credit to City by all accounts they played ok before a nasty bobble and keeper error cost them dear. As I've stated before City long term could have problems with such a thread bare squad, this is an interesting clash but with Corals maybe going a more realistic 7/4 Boro, the away team IMO deserve some early doors support.

Some difficult calls maybe in the rest, Torquay were very unlucky not to beat Hull last year, having shown plenty of pace up front and discipline at the back v Bristol City 7/4 looks slightly unfair on the Gulls for the Tigers latest trip to Devon. While the clash between Brentford and Doncaster may not be for the faint hearted. Despite Bees defeat at Chesterfield I expect them to be a difficult team to beat, while robust Rovers were the best Div 3 side I saw last year, I expect them too to go well, maybe watch the cards fly here.

The one game which stands out here judging by the weekends results is Colchester to beat Stockport.

Colchester coming off a deserved 3-0 away win to Sheffield Wednesday whilst Stockport suffered a 3-2 home defeat off newly promoted Huddersfield.

Stockport havnt been the best of travellers in recent seasons and the Stan James quote of 11/10 home win seems overpriced.

Any thoughts?

Colchester look very good value and i will be having a small wager.
