10pts on Hibs @ 5/1 placed with BlueSq
SPL without Old Firm

Jumped in too quickly on Boro - Boyle have them at 10/3 is a 3 horse race for Top NE side so took 10pt with them too.

Great bet with Bet365 all 3 promoted to be relegated from EPL 15pts placed at 10/3. Already have this with Sky bet at 11/4 which was withdrawn. See earlier post for reasoning. Since then WBA have sold Gera and Phillips and bought in one replacement who will miss the start of the season.

i have done the antepost with william hill , i have picked the winners of all five leagues , placed a £1 on them and the returns are huge , over £1000 , i have done 10 of these , so total stake is £1 and if in the unlikely case that one of these happen i will be in serious profit unlikely but keeps me interested in all the leagues , i will post the selections closer to the off

Evening my fellow punters,

earlier in the summer when the euros were still on I put £1.50 on Bury to win league 2 at 25-1 and Norwich to win the championship at 33-1.

Really dissapointed the Cullum takeover broke down at Norwich because I thought I might have found some real value. Still both sides have improved towards the back end of last season since the takeover of new managers (I like Alan Knill and Bury have certainly picked up but lack money) and have an outside chance. Norwich have acted quite shrewdly bringing in Hoolahan and Bertrand although I think the takeover collapsing has probably killed any hopes i had on that one. I would have kept Huckerby too.

What are you guys thinking about the championship, league 1, league 2?

For me Stoke and West Brom to get relegated is a cert at just over 2/1. See my previous post re West Brom, both are struggling to attract players and with their current squad (I know they can still pull of signings) I just can't see either spending enough/attracting decent quality to stay up.

With the signings Hull have made I think they have a better chance as there is some quality there and more supposed to be coming. There is also the fact that at least 1/2 teams already in the prem get sucked in and I could see that being Sunderland.

Don't think you'll get 2/1 the double come the start of the Season.

I'd be very wary of betting on SWFC to get relegated this year, I say this as a fan that backed us to go down last year at 20/1. I've actually had some money on us e/w at 66/1, as a takeoever is in the slow process of going through as I write - it should happen in the next month, and I have been told (by someone that was wanting to know how to get a £500 bet on the fact...) that Shearer will be appointed as soon as this happens, and we will have "telephone numbers" to spend.

Obviously, the longer the actual takeover drags on, the harder it will be to bring players in, but our 1st team is actually OK, its the lack of depth in the squad that hurt us last year. But I'd wait and see if the takeoever happens before betting on us to go down.

What about the MK Dons to be relegated. Did great last season coming up but how good a coach is Di Matteo? Rumoured Ince wants to bring Andrews with him to Blackburn

I see they have lost a couple of players. Where they important to getting them promoted last year? Who are they bringing in to improve their squad? A newcomer to League One 20/1 to go down? Seems like madness to me. Peterborough have made some improvements to their squad and i think they will fare much better than the Dons.

Hereford finished only 4 points behind Peterborough yet them and the MK Dons are one of the faves for League One while Hereford are one of the faves for relegation?

Am i barking up the wrong tree here?

I agree with MKDons at 20/1 is value and have placed 2pts.

I guess the bookies think alot of money is around and the gap between Div2 and 1 is small

Ive always admired chris coleman's approach and spirit as a manager, I might have a small stake on Coventry @ 41/1 boylesports e/w in the championship.

He is doing his best, but you could tell its going to be very difficult.

He mentioned a massive gap between EPL and Championship.

He thought Stoke had a top 10 team last season, extra fitness got them up. He'll need more than that this season.

He said he relied on loanees last season. He is only allowed 2 this season.

He is struggling to pay EPL wages and struggling to attract players to the area.
Currently considering Hull City to beat Stoke City in a match bet @ 11/10. Likelihood is that both team will be fighting it out for 19th and 20th but the more I look into it, the more I’m liking it.

I’m pretty sure Hull manager Phil Brown helped Bolton to stay in the Premier League after serving as an Assistant Manager to both Colin Todd and Sam Allardyce ().

If he was, it would also seem that he may have picked up Allardyce’s talent for persuading players who, at first glance, you would think wouldn’t take a second look at a team in the position of Hull. Although bit-part players last season, the likes of George Boateng and Geovanni surely must have thought they would end up at a higher class of team than Hull and I'd say hats off to Brown for convincing them otherwise.

With them also picking up the highly-rated (in the Championship at least) Peter Halmosi, close to the signing of Marlon King (who did well at Watford before moving to Wigan) and a rumoured move for Bolton defender Abdoulaye Meite and possible re-signing of Man Utd‘s Frazier Campbell, they look to have made a better fist of the transfer market so far this summer. They also have some players who could impress next season in the shape of Richard Garcia and Boaz Myhill and with a fanatical support packed into the impressive KC stadium every other week I’d fancy them to take more points than Stoke at the moment.

I’m not ‘bigging-up’ their chances of survival in any way and I recognise the price isn’t exactly 'excellent' for a season-long bet but I reckon they are more than a fair 11/10 shot and could be a decent shout in a speculative accumulator.

Leespam

I tend to agree 11/10 for Hull is value, I would make it 50/50.

Boateng went to Hull, because they matched his Boro salary and promised him regular football. He was the equal top paid player at Boro with Schwarzer. I don't think Celtic could quite match what Hull were paying and pay a £1m fee. The danger for Hull is that they are left with Boateng on £30k a week in 12 month time with another year on his contract. It does prove Hull are splashing the cash.

I don't like waiting 9 months for a 11/10 shot though, I will look for something to add to it.

LS - whose the 11/10 with?

It's Totesport. They're going 4/6 Stoke - 11/10 Hull.

I just need to find a few to go with it now .
