Using Will Hill

Id Go for

Premiership - Arsenal 4/1
Championship - Crystal Palace 11/1
League 1 - Carlilse 16/1
League 2 - Darlington 9/1
Scottish Prem - Rangers - Evens
Scotts 1 - Dundee - 15/8
Scotts 2 - Raith - 10/3
Bundesliga - Shalke 04 - 9/1 (got a nice new signing in psv's Farfan)
La Liga - Real Madrid - 9/10
Serie A - Roma - 4/1
Ligue 1 - Bordeaux - 9/2
Champions League - Real Madrid - 9/1

No wonder youd get a lot in return. Arsenal for the PL?? Real Madrid for CL?? Raith Rovers for division 2??

Glad you kept your money in your pocket mate!!

One that is standing out at the mo though is Aaron Ramsey NOT to score for Arsenal in the Premiership this season @2.2 on BlueSq. Surely he is not going to get many games under his belt? He has played only 16 league games for Cardiff, scoring once... If he starts more than 6 games next season I would be surprised and with a strike rate of 1 in 8 (1 in 11 if you count his cup games) surely he wont be on the scoresheet this season when playing against far superior opposition... remember one of his 2 career goals was against Chasetown!

Can someone put me off this bet?
Looks amazing value to me too mate. Walcott failed to score for ages for Arsenal when he signed as a kid and Ramsay will probably start very few games like you say. But all it takes is for him to come on against someone like Hull with 5 mins left and get a tap in then bet loses.

all of these are e/w bets

manutd to win premier 6/4 1,2 - cant see them coming lower than 2nd and think theyll win the league to be honest

sheffutd to win championship 16/1 - was really inform team backend of last season, great value for team who hit such form, useful additions in halford and sun jihai 1,2,3,4

leicester city to win league 1 11/2 - cant really see milan wanting to stay down there for too long, signed some bulgarian chappy y'day for 800k which shows they are willing to spend unlike leeds. leicester my certs for the year 1,2,3,4

bournemouth to win league 2 10/1 - finished last season on sh!t hot form and were really unlucky not to stay up, although they lose infleuntial player vokes to wolves im happy to think they should least come top 7 and give me run for my money 1,2,3,4

other teams i considered

birmingham - will be up there no doubt about that, defiantly top 6 side
shrewsbury - looking for stable league 2 side who better than average
darlington - no problems financially and will crack the league sooner than later i think

overated team

qpr, look poor poor squad well not top 6 material, need major investment if thats their goal

Hull - To be relegated @ 3/10
Stoke - To be relegated @ 2/5
Blackpool - To be relegated @ 5/4
Cheltenham - To be relegated @ 7/4
Lyon - To win French Ligue 1 @ 8/11

£10 returns £194.51

Opinions?

As I said earlier in this thread, Bournemouth will start next season -15pts. Shithot form or no shithot form they'll struggle to make top 4 from there. For the same reasons I'd warn anyone off backing Rotherham who will lose 15pts regardless what their chairman wants to fantasise about, Luton who could be starting -25, and then I wouldn't be hurrying to back Gillingham, Accrington, Chester or Macclesfield, all of whom I'm led to believe are in financial difficulty and could go into admin during the season.

Anyone listen to Tony Pulis on Stoke staying up Radio 5 Monday night?

He is doing his best, but you could tell its going to be very difficult.

He mentioned a massive gap between EPL and Championship.

He thought Stoke had a top 10 team last season, extra fitness got them up. He'll need more than that this season.

He said he relied on loanees last season. He is only allowed 2 this season.

He is struggling to pay EPL wages and struggling to attract players to the area.

Right seriously now.
Can see Hibs finishing 1st this season, (bar the old firm!!) this can be gotten, dont know the prices.the only other countender being Motherwell.
Hearts are struggling, and with the manager madness there, I believe will obv. count against them.
As a lot of you know, I excel in match games, pretty much presently. So dont hold it against me

Portsmouth to win the EPL without the big 4, 10/1 e/w with William Hill.

Pompey have been strong for a couple of seasons now, and from starting last season with basically no good strikers they should now soon have two very good strikers in Defoe and Crouch. And excellent defence and one of the best GKs in the EPL keep things tight at the back, and while there are question marks over whether Diarra and/or Kranjcar will be there at the start of the season, you would have to say that they are a decent shout to finish in the top 7. They finished 8th, 1 point behind Blackburn last year, after basically rolling over in their last few games to avoid injuries for the FA Cup final. Spurs are a best price 5/2, Villa 11/2, Everton 6/1, City 7/1. 10/1 on Pompey seems very decent to my eyes, I see a team with a good blend of youth and experience, goals up front, clean sheets at the back, and a very good manager on the sidelines.

Hi DJ

Ref Pompey

Is that a winner if they finish 5th 6th and 7th or does it include 8th?

Are odds 1/4?

My feeling is that Pompey will finish around 8th.

Villa Spurs and Everton look stronger, but Newcastle, Blackburn and West Ham are weaker.

so 5/2 for a 8th finish is defo value and probably some value on 7th too.

You haven't mentioned Pompey playing in Europe too, look what happened to Spurs last season.

What about Dundee United and Aberdeen, no chance of 3rd spot for them?

Sorry whupunter about not replying, haven't checked the forum in a couple of days.

I live a couple of minutes away from gidea park station.

I've had a season ticket for the last 5 years or so, but its become too expensive for me these days. Still planning to go to a few home games, looking at Ince's return in the Blackburn game as a good game to go to.

Very early doors but the value bet for me is West Brom to get relegated @ 6/5. Their defence was average at best in the championship and their attack will be mediocre for the priemership. Mowbray is not know for building strong defences although you've got to give him credit for playing attacking football. I can see them taking a few doings this season because they just don't have the quality of players to go out and attack teams and keep the back door shut at the same time.

A lot of people will laugh at me with this one but I think East Stirling (no I'm not drunk) will do well next season. They have bought in a good few decent players for the 3rd division and have a good manager in Jim Mcanally. I think they may be worth backing to win the league on the handicap (depending on how much they get of course)

Wont be suprised if Aberdeen do well initially then filter out towards the end of the season. Theyr always there or there abouts.
Uniteds season depends on 1 man - Levein. If he stays then I can see good things, but I have a feeling he'll be leaving this season.
Hes 1 of the best managers in the UK, and I can see some English club taking him on through the season.

The Shire have just started buildin a new stadium. And theyll be playing on someone elses artificial pitch next year.
Can see that counting against them big time. As well as the fact theyr god awful

Cheers for reply Scotty

I have a little dabble on Hibs if 5/1 is still available.

**********************************

I have put 20pts on Boro to win NE mini league at 3/1 with BlueSQ

Newcastle don't look like big spenders this season at present and KK is a liability and the owner is not sure if he wants to own them or not. They finished 1 point above Boro last season. They have big potential, but have struggled to last 2 seasons, no evidence to date it will change next season.

Sunderland will struggle to get more points than last year, now the Premiership novelty has wore off. I will be surprised if they can continue to keep getting 95th minute goals too. They don't seem as eager to spend this season as last.

Southgate is now settled in with his own players with a young skilled squad that can play with pace. He has almost all his own backroom staff and can move forward a little. I am concerned about the goalkeeping situation and possibly left back position.
