Why was that so funny? Rangers only threw away the title this season just gone because they had to play a ridiculous amount of games in a short space of time and couldn't keep up their momentum. They were a victim of their own success in the cup competitions, so I wouldn't say Celtic are cert for the SPL title at all.

Nice joke about Liverpool though!

At first sight I fancy:

Prem: Man Utd 11/8
Champ: Derby 16/1
Lg1: Leicester 5/1
Lg2: Bradford 9/1

BOSS007, we should finish above Sunerland but at 8/13 you could get stung. Sunderland have a lot of money to spend, and we are only relying on all the players we bought last summer (who all got crocked) to return again.

Bolton to beat Wigan in a match bet stand out at Even money.

Theyve got loads of money to spend and have already bought shrewdly. Wigan could be set for a bad season if they dont improve on their squad.

Providing they keep Adebayor I can see Arsenal finishing in the top two. With Fabregas, Nasri and Rosicky in support, not to mention Van Persie and Eduardo when they're back to full fitness, they'll score goals for fun.

The match against United at OT in April showed they can compete with them and that was without a host of stars. The likes of Sagna, Clichy and Toure all a year older and will certainly be wiser as well.

As I said, a lot depends on Adebayor but providing he stays I think 11/2 e/w is the bet of the season!

Blackburn should finish above Boro, but the gap will be less than last season. Boro could sign 3 players over the next 4 days, none worldbeaters mind, but solid buys. Alves knitted it well in the last month of the season and Mido is supposedly fit for the first time for a year. Wheater and Downing really flowered last season. However goalkeeping is a worry with Schwarzer going on a Bosman to Fulham. I don't think Boro will have potfuls of cash to spend.

Without looking at the odds I would say fair odds on Blackburn is 4/5. I would want 5/6 to back them

I don't think Blackburn will do as well as last season. It's likley they will lose Bently and Ince wil need time to settle in and has an hard act to follow in Hughes.

Hope for your sake that you get Mido back to his full fitness and form as I'm sure he can still be a very good player. When he made his debut for Spurs against Portsmouth I was at some of the skills he showed, arguably the best debut that I've seen from a player but sadly it didn't work out for him at the club. I think the word is that he played hard for a move to us but then as soon as he signed full contract he gave up, whether that's true or not is arguable but the performances certainly seem to give that indication.
I think Middlesbrough are often written off at the start of the season as they tend to be one of those clubs who don't quite achieve anything. I think though if Alves and Mido can set up a good strikeforce then there is no reason why they can't finish above a Blackburn side who will likely have a transitional season. This means for Blackburn they will either finish 13th but look stronger towards the end of the season or Ince will work miracles and they will finish well up the table. The second of the two options is less likely though as it will require great skills from Ince in his first managerial season in the Premiership.

I just registered with Coral as it said free £10 bet... I deposited £10 and said that in the Match Bets section that Arsenal would finish above Liverpool, West Brom will finish above Fulham and Everton to finish above Newcastle and made £10 bet and there's no sign of free bet..... the treble that I selected would pay at 5/1 so I think that's reasonable odds though.

Theyve got money to spend. Bought Nathan Ellington, Liam Dickinson, Kris Commons, Paul Green, Jordan Stewart and Martin Albrechsten alreeady and Paul Jewell as manager is a huge positive. He got Bradford and Wigan out of that league so they are decent value at 16s.

Bit early to be making concrete decisions before all the transfers are done. At the moment i'd go with this:

Chelsea
Crystal Palace
Leeds
Rochdale

But i'll be waiting for and seeing them there transfers first.

I'll also be looking at Bolton, Blackpool, MK Dons and Accrington for relegation, probably individually.

Seems good value to me as well, Jewell is a good manager and I think they stand a good chance of gaining promotion, although whether as champions is questionable, still good value though.

Premiership - Manchester United @ 11/10
Championship - Derby @ 16/1
League One - Stockport @ 33/1
League Two - Rochdale @ 12/1

£1 bet would return over £15,000 if it did actually come off

£1 accumulator on the league winners, only low stake because I know that these kind of bets are generally more the bookies friend than the punters but will be interesting to see how the teams do. Stockport look well equipped for a top 6 in league one next season and at odds of 33/1 look good value. I think Derby or Reading will win the Championship and Derby were better value at 16/1 considering their recent acquisitions. Premiership will be tight once again between Manchester United and Chelsea and could well end up being decided by where Ronaldo chooses to be playing his football next season. If Ronaldo leaves Manchester United then they will be weakened and unless they make good forrays in the transfer market will be handing the initiative to Chelsea.

I'm already thinking of the following 6-folds/7-fold e/w perm:

Chelsea 2/1
QPR 13/2
Leeds 10/3
Bournemouth 12/1
Oxford 10/1
AFC Telford 5/1
AFC Wimbledon 8/1

Stockport did look good for a good season but selling Liam Dickinson changed that for me mate.

If you go with this mate you might want to hold off a bit because Bournemouth are in admin so are likely to lose 15pts in the not too distant future.

I always like a 'lump on' punt at the start of the season and have not studied any markets yet, I usually bet on non league football as I have knowledge of that.

One that is standing out at the mo though is Aaron Ramsey NOT to score for Arsenal in the Premiership this season @2.2 on BlueSq. Surely he is not going to get many games under his belt? He has played only 16 league games for Cardiff, scoring once... If he starts more than 6 games next season I would be surprised and with a strike rate of 1 in 8 (1 in 11 if you count his cup games) surely he wont be on the scoresheet this season when playing against far superior opposition... remember one of his 2 career goals was against Chasetown!

Can someone put me off this bet?
