Aaron, agree that Ronaldo and Torres should be up there again but in the top scorers market but in Tuesday's Racing Post it had a top scorer market discussion on these two, and quoted both at 5/1 so hold on with any bets for now until more of the bookies release the market as there will be better than skybet.

Yeah will do, only SkyBet have their top scorers for next season up at the moment.

agree with the north east clubs bet

not sure on top scorer on ronaldo! i know he is quality but doubt he can keep up such great form especially with him playing all summer

also an injury for month or so would put him out of this bet imo

but then whos saying im right i may be in the minority thinking this

Anyone Know of where i can place a bet of their being over 1000 goals in the Premiership next year???

There were 1002 this year and primarily that came about by the 9 goals in the game at Boro.

Would be Interesting Odds i Feel.

Like the Look at Torres to be top prem scorer but im waiting on Robin Van Persie coming back to fitness i reckon he could be an outsider!

Hull to win EPL and Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal to be the relegating trio! That's the best I can think of.

Seriously though, I certainly won't be placing any bets NOW (and would probably have no money after Roland Garros, Wimbeldon and Euro2008 anyhow), but the one that stands out as we speak is for QPR to get promoted next season. They have cash, they had a deal with Real madrid to get the 2nd team players on loan, they already developed into a decent side after an awful start to their season that saw them winless in the 1st 9 games, and -last but not least- they now have Iain Dowie for a manager. I think Dowie can take them places given the assets at his disposal.

Also Nott'm Forest to get promoted appeals to me, but only from an emotional side, so nothing rational to back it up!

2 lays for me, how brave !!
Liverpool at 8/1 to win the Premier League, at least 2 teams better LAY
QPR at 5/1ish to win the Championship, expect everyone to be 'up for it' against them, and don't rate Dowie as highly as Monsieur ZZ ! LAY
Would like a bet on Dowie being sacked though !

According to oddschecker only Skybet are offering this at present and go 6/4 over 1000, 1/2 under.

I think it's likely to be under 1000 goals next season. I think the lack of Derby and Reading and the fact that Spurs will likely tighten up their defensive lines will leave less goals conceded. Especially if you count games like Spurs v Chelsea 4-4, Spurs v Villa 4-4 and Chelsea v Villa 4-4 as games that do not routinely happen. I know Stoke, Bristol City and WBA could concede but I think the total is going to be nearer 934 at the end of the season.

As you would expect I have to disagree with value on Newcastle at 4/5 to be top NE team. I don't think KK has brought stability. His relationship with the owner does not appear solid to me. I over estimated Newcastle alot last year, thinking they would get around 58 points when they got only 43pts. I even thought KK would turn them around. Despite all the positivity of his arrival they only picked up a little and have now lost Viduka for 6 months. I will be surprised if they got more than 50 points next season, based on current team.

Skybet

EPL - All promoted teams to be relegated - 11/4

This looks an interesting bet, because in recent seasons 2 out of the 3 promoted have been relegated. Last season Sunderland stayed up with 3 points to spare or it would have come true.

I think this year Stoke and BristolC/Hull will do extremely well to stay up and are correctly priced at 2/5 and less to go straight back down.

WBA could very well spoil the bet, but I still give them only a 50% chance of staying up. They won the Championship with a low points score and don't have the funds of say Sunderland to spend this season. One of their best players in Kevin Phillips is entering the swansong of his career now.

I have taken 20pts@11/4

Is there a way to check the financial records of clubs in the lower leagues? Just thinking if there is a possibility that the club will be taken in to administration, therefore being docked points, that they could provide some value in the relegation markets.

wba to finish above stoke 2/5

dead cert

stoke wont be embarassed in my opinion in the premier league but i can see wba finishing comfotably above them and at worst being close run for your money
Long time to wait for a 2/5 shot, but I would agree even though odds are short enough. I lumped on Derby last year to finish bottom at 9/4, could not believe how big it was. This year I will be going for Hull, bit harder as Stoke are there too. Maybe a surprise, but I cannot see one of these two not finsihing bottom. Good luck to them though, good to see the so called smaller clubs there.

I notice Skybet have withdrawn the bet I recommended, not sure why.

The Hull/Bristol City game showed the gap between the Championship and the Premier League.

While they have the best chance of the promoted teams, they will really struggle with Mowbray in charge - imho they went up despite him, not because of; given their squad they should have romped this division, in the end they only won it on the last day.

They leaked goals against pisspoor Championship teams, so unless they can sort that out they will get crucified by Premiership attacks.

That looks a very interesting bet - I'm struggling to see Hull or Stoke staying up, and West Brom aren't the great team so many seem to think, despite having a very good squad for Championship level.

Derby went up with 86 points I think, a fair chunk more than West Brom managed to get in a weaker season in winning the league.

Sunderland, Fulham and Bolton are the main threats to this bet I suppose, but I fancy Fulham to do well now they have a full pre-season with Hodgson, and Sunderland seem to be improving all the time. The big question mark is Bolton - but then how about saver on their relegation to complement the bet you suggest?

Wouldn't bother wasting your money. Bolton are investing pretty big in the summer and our main target being a top goalscorer. we are in for a better season than last as sammy lee was probably the worst manager you could have and he spoiled it. Good bet for all 3 go down though.. its just wba hmm.
