thumbsup The 3rd GB v Rest of the World Challenge - deadline for entry 12pm Sun 19th March

This is a rallying call for all of you passionate Brits out there. Those pesky foreigners overturned us in the 2005 British Forum v Rest of the World challenge by a 16-12 margin.

http://punterslounge.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=32

The time has come for revenge. I will be your captain, so if you want to take on the challenge to give Johnny Foreigner a good kicking then either PM me or respond to this thread. Deadline for entry will be Sunday 19th March. Anyone can enter. Rules below:

The 2006 GB v Rest of the World tournament is planned to be held the weekend of 25th/26th March.

The format will be:

British team will select 10 fixtures from the British leagues for Saturday, and the Rest of the World team will select their 10 fixtures from their crappy leagues for the Sunday.

Each player will play a single match v another member of the opposing forum on both the Saturday and the Sunday. Each player will predict the 10 results of the British games selected by the British team that will be played on Saturday, and the 10 results of the Europe/World games selected by the ROTW team that will be played on Sunday.Whoever wins their tie on each day will pick up 1pt for their side – a tied match with be 0.5pts per player.

Matches will be decided by 3pts for a correct score or 1pt for just a correct prediction (ie 1,2 or x) to a max of 3pts per game.

The points from each tie will be added up and on Sunday night we'll announce that Britain are the winners. We’ll also get a “half-time” score out on Saturday night as well.

I will be captaining the Brits to glory. The Rest of the World captain will be announced in due course, and it will be up to the captains to discuss with their teams what 10 games will be chosen.

Deadline for entry will be Sunday 19th March. Draw and matches to be predicted on will follow on the Monday. To sign up post here. Let’s be having you then…

I've decided after my losing captaincy last time , I'll become the team manager this time.

Alexmac (after his superb record in the Tipsters Challenge) is my choice to captain us to glory - Alex will you take up the challenge. I'll liase with you via pm to select the 10 fixtures nearer the time

No probs Matty.

I'll muster the troops and try to lead us to victory over our foreign friends. It has always been a pretty close competition, so we need to select our game pretty carefully.

Come on lads, get signed up for the UK team. Your country needs you
