| I took Hull to be relegated at the end of May at 9/4 with Sky bet. I think its at least a 40% shot. They do now have Jimmy Bullard, but they will not have the start they had and some of their players are ageing such as Boateng and Barmby. Their second half of season form was very alarming. |

| I disagree with those that said WBA did not spend last season. I seem to remember them bringing 6 or 7 players, including the likes of Scott Carson and Luke Moore who will be on prem wages. They will probably have most of their squad on prem wages and will have to cut back by 30% on wages (about £9m). Boro will have to cut back too although most of their squad are young players. The biggest cutback will be Newcastle where I would expect £35m will have to come off their wage bill with probably 7 or 8 of their big players leaving. Championship clubs have already been raided with Mowbray and Martinez leaving and with Martinez taking his best player at Swansea with him as well as all his coaching staff. Rodger Johnson left Cardiff today who is probably their best player. Mears has gone from Derby too? Sheffield United and Watford lose their parachute payments which needs to bne considered. |

| Mears Has agreed to join Burnley when he returns from holiday for £500k + future incentives. Medical has already been passed and personal terms agreed. David Edgar has also passed a medical at Burnley but i'm not sure about personal terms. This move will be a free transfer. Burnley have also installed a wages cap of £25k per week to scare off any over age money grabbers.

| Probably a good move by Burnley in the long run to limit wages to £25k/week, but they wil be up against Man City and Eto on £400k per week - not fair is it? It probably means they will be the lowest payers in the Premiership |

| i'll be playing. liverpool 11/4 cardiff city 16/1 oldham 33/1 rotherham 7/1 each way accumulator and lucky 15 for relegation i would think hull are a pretty sound bet at the prices available and i will deffo be laying newcastle and boro for the league. i may even offer newcastle at silly odds the confidence i have in them "doing a leeds" particularly whilst that clown shearer is there. |

He's just been linked with Manchester United and I think it was more of a pre-season PR stunt by Phil Brown. A reporter probably asked him if he'd like to sign Michael Owen, and all of a sudden because he said yes, Hull City are going to sign Owen? I don't think so. Also, it would be a backward step for Owen as it's highly likely Hull could be back down in the Championship next year, and he'd be in the same position as he was at Newcastle. Little or no service and overworked. | |

| been looking thru the ante-post prices for next season, and i cant beleive that robbie keane is 50/1 with coral for prem top scorer, 100.0 on betfair. things are set for a big season for keane who will be 29 in a few days, and has plenty of experience in the top flight. i think spurs will gel better than last season with redknapp, as the squad is still on young side, and last seasons flirtations with the bottom 3 will have galvanised the whole club. not saying spurs will be challenging for the top 3 or owt, but with a breakthrough expected for the under 21 star danny rose to come, i expect spurs to win the mini-league of the "have nots". the 100.0 betfair or 50/1 with coral, should be a season long run for the money in this market.
