Thought I'd posted a reply to this before, but I'm on Zenit to win the cup from a value proposition.

Too many Rangers fans are having a punt on their team for sentimental reasons, would be delighted to see Rangers bring it home for Scotish football, but it's a clear value bet for me, medium stakes.

AJ - do you really think that....??? I am trying to be as neutral as possible here, but backing Zenit at a best priced 4/6 surely cannot represent 'value'? IMO, there is no value at all in the outright winners market...?

i believe they are value as well

im not knocking rangers here

but zenit have knocked out

Villareal
marseille
leverkusen
bayern munich

all four v.strong opposition

now i know rangers have beaten strong opposition but all four listed above would be strong/among the favourites to win the cup

also the two leg system suits rangers more than the one of final

i think if zenit get the 1st goal rangers will struggle big time but still ....

come on the rangers!!!

Unfortunately the 6.6 I took has now drifted to 7.2, still think this is too big with four teams left and I think they are better placed to beat Bayern over 2 legs rather than a one off game as they have pace on the counter away from home and no-one likes travelling to Russia.

They have put out some impressive sides notably Villarreal so feel they are being a bit underestimated.

Played mate.

Well done Zenit St Petersburg. Thoroughly Deserved Winners and by far the best team in the tournament overall.

Cheers JJ just wishing I'd put more on it as the odds were massive

Still I rarely do outright bets as I'm too bloody impatient!

Yeah worthy winners, frighteningly quick team on the counter.

Yeh they are.

I was trying to get a few quid on Arshavin to score first but betfair crashed just before the game started.... saved money in the end I suppose.

He is some player though, can see him playing down south somewhere next season.

Don't think many clubs will be ready to pay the money Zenith will ask for him. Not many companies in Europe are even half the size of Gazprom who are behind this team and I guess they will be there for long after a great season - Champions in Russia after decades of waiting, UEFA Cup Winners on the same season, CL group stage in a few months. I might be totally wrong but rumours were spread here the starting 11 plus some first choice reserves got paid over 450 K in Euro just in bonuses for both knocking out Bayern and winning the Cup. Abramovich will look like a corner shop owner if these guys decide to get involved heavily in sports, incl football...
