Not sure on pricing but given the free scoring nature of both AZ and Werder Bremen, surely O2.5 is worth a go? Can see WB wanting to get an away goal to take back home for the home leg but AZ are more than capable of a result on the night. My thoughts about a score would be 2-1 to AZ but that's without backing and just going off instinct.

I think Spurs are overpriced at 5 considering their excellent UEFA Cup record this season. I think the game will be tough but can see there being some value in the away win there. Especially as Spurs have won every game they have played in Europe this season to date. League form at the moment would put Spurs into the top 4, similar position to Sevilla in their domestic league.

Personally even though i've followed the teams in question in their leagues a lot this season and the UEFA cup, i am really stumped about who to go for in these games as they all look evenly matched. I would love any thoughts on these games as they seem tight to me, in terms of who will go through.

As i say i'm cautious on these games, but the over 2.5goals in the Sevilla and AZ's games is a shout because in general the teams love to attack.

The overs are available @ 1.6ish in the AZ game and 2.2ish in the Sevilla game - not touching the over in the Sevilla game after watching matches of both teams @ the weekend, especially Sevilla were pretty toothless in attack.

However Tulenos bear in mind Sevilla was w/o Alves and Kanoute for most part of the game the players that keep things going in atack besides that their game away and home is totally diferent in results and much less prolific ,dunno about overs tough this is still a cup competition and keeping clean sheet main aim of home teams .

Osasuna has just had a huge blow in injuries of both midfield pilars while it did not showed last game with youngster in the long run and over two legs ag in form Bayer - at least results wise - could be too much to handle on positive note Valdo and Milosevic should boost their atack where firepower is not abundant but can they be fully fit after weeks off pitch .

Espanyol very motivated can beat anyone on a good day with their sharp atacking players at home struggle tough but this bunch of Tamudo,Garcia,Peña look ones that shine on big ocasions
still Benfica shall be favourite with bigger tradition in Europe probably more solid and with greater home advantage stille Simao and Gomes from the ones i know are far from Espanyol players in finishing skills imo.

Is not 2.9 value on AZ to qualify over 2 legs both have much to play in their leagues knowing Van Gaal teams this shall be not a big issue for AZ while Werder with ups and downs could be perfect pray for offensive footie from dutch side .
Opiniosn ?

I Think that the Bremen have the power to beat in Netherland...bremen is better then Az and another reason is that Alkmar never had a good form with big teams...The teams from Netherland aren't so good this season(they don't have a good football this year...and they don't deserve the calification when they played with Fenerbache and Nwecastle..they was lucky .... don't forget Ajax,Psv,Feyenord....are out...Az is the only one and in this night is their turn to get out....So I will go for Werder

Espanyol-Benfica --->>>is that kind of a draw match...benfica fight for championship and Uefa...and they come in Spain to not lose...they are please even with a draw....
Benfica blow
The team news for Benfica, meanwhile, is that 25-year-old midfielder Paulo Jorge will sit out the action in Barcelona with a thigh complaint. Coach Fernando Santos had already been deprived of the services of defender Luisão (knee) and midfielder Konstantinos Katsouranis (suspended).
Injury doubts
Midfielder Riera, 24, sprained his left ankle during a training session this week, while 21-year-old defender Chica damaged his groin during Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Valencia CF.

Come on, you can't write off a team like Spurs, or any team for that matter who have gotten this far in a european tournament. Spurs are very strong and have a world class talent in Berbatov up front, i'm not so hot on Sevilla so i just take what i can from these boards and the stats.

You say AZ were lucky in the other thread yet how lucky were Sevilla? Last min headed equaliser - From their Goalkeeper!

I'm not denying that Sevilla can win this match, they are faves for the first leg but it's pretty crazy to dismiss a team like Tottenham completely imo.

Sport Football (Euro Cups)
Event Bayern Leverkusen vs Osasuna
Selection B. Leverkusen -0.5 (Asian Handicap)
Strength 8/10
Date 05/04/2007
Bookmaker/Price Ladbrokes @ 1.98 (Back)
Reasoning Bayern is full team tonight bar Carsten Ramelow who is currently injured. However, they have enough cover to compesate that loss. Their recent form has also been good I have to say. With Bernd Schneider is on fire lately and playing at home they just can't afford to lose or not to win this. Since coming to Osasuna's home on the next match would not be an easy one. Also to notice, so far Leverkusen always qualify from the knockout stages with good win playing at home as evident with Blackburn and Lens.

In the other hand, Osasuna will miss Francisco Punal and Romero Josetxo who are both very important players for their team. However, they will have Savo Milosevic back which is a huge boost but his contribution to the game will remain to be seen. Because, usually after an injury woe it would take more than one match for a player to regain his usual form. Osasuna would also have the match against Real Madrid in mind in the weekend.

After some thinking, I think Leverkusen should be able to win this match by 1 goal in a tight fashion. Osasuna wouldn't be playing tightly as expected however losing two of their important defensive player in Punal (DMC) and Josetxo (DC) this would hurt Osasuna defensive capabilities quite a lot.

IMO these 2 were unlucky to be drawn against each other and I rate them 2nd and 3rd favs to win this competition. I cant split them much myself and either team could qualify. Spurs certainly cant be dismissed although Sevilla might just shade the 1st leg perhaps

I think Werder are the team to beat in the UEFA cup and should be able to outscore AZ. let's face it, in terms of quality the Germans have far more and will love playing against an attacking team. Good odds on the away win............

AZ - Werder
Over 2.5
1.7 at betfair

Very good price for over. I took it sooner rather than later. I will fall to 1.6 as the day goes by. I don't think it needs any more reasoning.

Good luck all

Hi, I'm not from Germany but they are fit and should start if their coach desire them to do so which I think he will anyway

I also confirmed this on UEFA website and indeed both of them are on the probable starting line-up

I agree with you here that on paper, man to man, Werder have better quality compared to AZ. But, I would rate Van Gaal as a better coach than Thomas Schaaf with a lot more experiences in his hand. Nevertheless, it is down to the players that perform thou.

However, AZ is unbeaten in their last 29 home matches in European competition. Also based on my experience, teams that dropped off to UEFA from the CL usually tend to not do as well as team that started out in the UEFA Cup itself.

Moreover, Werder attack has been toothless lately with Klose underperforming. While AZ I have to say is in good form, they are scoring and their defence have tighten up lately. Sure Borrowski and Baumann returns but then I doubt they will make a significant contribution right away. Jensen is also injured and I think he has been doing well lately and this would be a loss. Plus, I think AZ players will be well aware that their next visit to Bremen will be tough and if they are to qualify, winning this game is essential.

In conclusion, I think this will be a tough match but I doubt Werder will be able to outscore AZ in AZ's own turf.

Not sure how accurate is this info, but anyway :

Probable teams
AZ:
Boy Waterman; Grétar Steinsson, Kew Jaliens, Ryan Donk, Tim de Cler; Julian Jenner, Demy de Zeeuw, Moussa Dembélé, Maarten Martens; Shota Arveladze, Danny Koevermans.

Bremen: Tim Wiese; Clemens Fritz, Per Mertesacker, Naldo, Pierre Wome; Patrick Owomoyela, Torsten Frings, Diego, Jurica Vranješ; Aaron Hunt, Miroslav Klose.

1. AZ has never ever lost a Euro game at home.
2. Werder has never ever won away in Holland

I think AZ at 2.01 for draw no bet (AH -0) is a great price.

Hardly know a thing about Osasuna on my own but I think Leverkusen have proven lately that they can be forcing atm, also defence has been stable overall. I think they can sneak the win here, maybe a close one.

Werder really are in poor shape and second the above written that they are toothless these days. Without Klose on fire and Borowski, Bremen have been struggling to score. Now do I judge Alkmaar as forcin team, that's why I pretty much like the home win odds.

I'm having 2/3 goals in the AZ and Espanyol matches @ 3/1 because all the teams tend to have goals in their matches and with it being Europe it will tend to keep a little tighter, so i'll take 2/3 goals in these.

Also I have a feeling for Malbranque to score for Spurs anytime because he will be one of the key men running off Berbatov as usual and was unlucky not to score v Reading at the weekend, he seems hungry for a goal and @ 5/1 i'll take a punt and look to make it a hat-trick for scorers in 3days.
