Caveman & Kojic,

Come on guys, chill out.

This place thrives on members helping each other out, so there's no reason to make each other enemies, when the only enemy is the bookie.

Spartak Moscow to bt Bayer Lverkusen

These two are in one of the more competitive groups along with FC Zurich (Swiss), Sparta Prague (Czech Rep) and Toulouse (France) and with 3 teams progressing from each group every point in vital.

This is Spartak`s first game in the group phase and they reached this stage of the competition by beating Hacken of Sweden 5-0 at home and 3-1 away, Prior to that they were unlucky to go out to Celtic on penalties in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League so they are a team not to be underestimated.

They are currently 2nd in the Russian League 2 points behind leaders Zenit St Petersburg after 29 games and they have a home record of won 10 drawn 3 lost 1 scored 29 and conceded 11 their only league defeat to date was back in May against Lokomotiv Moscow.

They are on a good run of form at present with 4 wins 1 draw and 1 defeat in their last 6 games which includes 3 straight home wins with 8 goals scored and only 1 conceded.

Spartak`s top scorer is Pavlyuchenko with 13 goals which makes him also joint top league goalscorer with CSKA`s Wagner Love and England supporters will not need reminding of the goal threat he represents after his 2 goals against England in Russia back in October.

Bayer Leverkusen have already played in group match when they beat Toulouse 1-0 at home. They reached this stage of the competition with a 5-4 aggregate win over Uniao Leiria of Portugal winning the home leg 3-1 before losing 3-2 away.

In the league this season they sit 6th and are already 10 points behind leaders Bayern Munich after 12 games. Their away record is average with 2 wins 1 draw and 3 losses so far scoring 7 and conceding 6.
Their last 6 league games have brought 2 wins 1 draw and 3 defeats whilst scoring 9 and conceding 7 with 1 win and 2 defeats on the road during that period.

The two teams have met twice before in European competition during the 2000/01 Champions League campaign group stages and honours were shared with Spartak winning their home game 2-0 and Leverkusen winning their home match 1-0.

Another interesting stat is that Spartak are unbeaten in their last four European home games, although they won only one of those matches however Leverkusen have lost in their last three European away games, and have not earned a win on their travels in 17 games - a run stretching back to a 2-0 Champions League win at Maccabi Haifa FC in the 2002/03 season.

Good luck all.

I often follow ATT on his Over advices, must admit I like his choice this week as well. My original combo was Rennes and Galatasaray to go Over, as the guy is right about the French teams, his tip paid off well in the previous round. I picked Galata not because I doubt their win, but because the Swedes have great forwards and I think they will score too. I thought I made a good choice, but now that you both advice on Zagreb to go Over as well, I suppose I will follow, adding another one to my combo. 3 Overs just like that?! Why not?

Bayern -1.75 AH@1.98 6/10
Correct score 3-0@8.00 1/10
I'm with you Rockman and I want to add another aspect to this game. Bolton has the third worse goalscoring record in the Premier League this season, 11 goals in 12 games. On other side Bayern's defense has only conceded 1 goal at the Allianz Arena this season.

For Bolton El-Hadji Diouf (FR-0/12 g/apps), Abdoulaye Meite (DEF-0/11 g/apps) and Nicky Hunt (DEF-0/7 g/apps) all picked up injuries in their last game. And to get more worst leading scorer Nicolas Anelka (6/10 g/apps) is also absent, while Ivan Campo (MID-1/6 g/apps) is not register for the Uefa Cup. So we have most offensive Bolton's players out for this game. Also Campo absencе will cause a lot of problems for Bolton's midfield line. M Alonso will try to cover for him, but I think it will not be enough. Even that they have a solid performance under new coach in their last two games (two draws against Aston Villa and West Ham), I can't see them to break through a Bayern defense, especially with all these absent players.

So I will take:
Away Team to Score @ NO 1.80 Expekt, 8/10

Good luck to all

Hey Everyone I hope your all well?

Tonight i like the look of a russain 3sum

I like Zenit, Spartak, Loko Moscow.

I like Zenit and feel thay have more class than Larissa, yes Larissa knocked blackburn out but Blackburn played very poor they basically beat themselves. I know Greece is a hard place to play but i fancy arsharvin to run the show tonight.

Spartak 1st game in the group at home with a nice crowd behind them i think will win the game no real reasoning apart from that.

Now loko moscow i know are no world beaters but Aberdeen from what i have seen this season are average. I think Loko experience playing in european competitions will see them thru this game.

Anyone else care to comment on my selections?

They played 3rd place Dundee United on Saturday at home and won comfortably 2-0 ( six players will return on Thursday from missing the win at the weekend ) I think if Aberdeen play in the same form and positive attitude as they did in Greece 2 weeks ago (Although loosing three nil, they played extremely well and would feel hard done by) they will sneak something, feeling a LAY of Lokomotive Moscow.

Good luck all
Disagree here mate although the Dons have more or less a full squad to choose from i dont think they have what it takes to beat any team in their league, none of their players have any experience playing in Europe and cant see them scoring tonight nevermind winning!

Moreover they have a very important match away against Iraklis which team has just three more points than Larissa has. It means a good result - they are desperate to have now - can lift them away from the dangerous zone. I reckon Larissa's performance against "I don't care" Blackburn was only a miracle. Just remind You lads that Larissa' next match -I mean after Iraklis- will be against Panathinaikos. So they must have a good result this weekend. Yenit didn't start well the UEFA group campaign in the group whilst they drew at home against Dutch Alkmaar. It could make them angrier. Everton and Nurnberg is here as well so if they want something from this cup they ought to win this tie. They haven't lost for 5 matches while the opponent hasn't won for 5 matches. Russians are a better team in a better form. Zenit is my choice.
As I would like to have a combo tonight I choose Villarreal next to Zenit against weaker Mlada Boleslav. I don't think it needs any more comments for it.
GL for everyone

Hi!
Some words about russians.
Larissa-Zenit.
Hard betting match. No bet for me because this match havent big importance for both teams. Aboute Larissa wrote Karthago... About Zenit - coach Dick Advocaat was invated in team for gold medal in Russian champ. Its - very very importance for club. Weekends match against Saturn - very hard, because in Saturn play some ex-Spartaks players and coach Gadzhiev sympatic for Spartak too. Relations between clubs more good then between Zenit-Saturn. Saturn havent chances for eurocaps in next saeason but in Russia many talks about Spartak will money stimulate Saturn players. And its be.
What i wont say Zenit wait very very hard match in weekend and today they will play with many banch players. Advocat said what hi make self choice in 1-2 hours before game...
Its good match for live betting. If Larissa score first - Zenit not win imho.
Zenits fans want gold medal and if Zenit not win today - its not big problem. And 1 fact more - probably coach Advokaat left club after end Russian champ (90% for it) and next round eurocups with or without Zenit its not him problem.
Of course in optimal squads Zenit more stronger but today it fact is big question.
No bet for me or Zenit dnb@1.50

Spartak Moscow-Leverkusen
Spartak too have important weekends match against Dinamo, but imho they more strong then opponents and they will almost easy win.
Here other interesting fact about said Spartaks coach Tcherchesov - first helper of Leverkusen's sports director Feller is Lenkhof. He is Spartaks enemy - he score penalty goal vs. Thcerhesov and Spartak when playd for belgian Antwerpen in 1/2 UEFA Cup. This is biggest round for Spartak and penalty was dishonest. About this fact remember all Spartaks fans.
Players in good mood and i wait offensive game. Plus artifical grass - unused for germans...
Spartak dnb@1.40 is safest bet for me.
And i take clear home win@1.90 in Russia 7/10

Aberdeen - Lokomotiv.
Dont see on Loko Moscow results in Russia champ. Some weeks ago "revoluthion man" Sychev whos like tell the truth said what from Loko players some big people make klowns... And its reason for dissapointment Loko's game in 2 lap of Russian champ when Loko lost chances for medals... Many people says what Loko sold some importance for opponents games. But in eurocups Lokomotiv play good and offensive (fw Sychev and mf Bilyaletdinov is national team players).
With some good results of scottish team, good russian attack and bad russians defence my choose OVER 2.5@2.15 7/10 and probably away win

Sorry for my bad english..

Hi Danby,

to PL.

It's always good to give some reasons for your bets mate, because you might find that a reason you are backing a certain team, is now no longer valid etc...

It's also just good to hear your point of view.

Zenith only need a draw in their last game in the League, at home. Relatively easy task and everybody sees them as Champions this year, CSKA and Spartak woke up far too late. I can imagine the players being excited, this title means so much, long way back in the years for Zenith, and a lot of money in this league now. They failed in the first UEFA group game, drawing 1-1 at home, and UEFA is important for Russian teams - keeps cash coming in in the winter, both from games and transfers, so I don't think they will underestimate the Larissa game, with their last game in the League certain. Still, this game is a NO BET to me, because 1.Greek teams surprise often and 2.Some Zenith players might get ''distracted'' by the the coming celebrations and possible transfers.
Good luck

Hi guys!

After politics we should turn back to football. I stand by Zenit and Villarreal to win after sleeping some hours. I commented Zenit and now I just complete my prediction regarding Villarreal. After 1-1 against Fiorentina they need a win in the group and I think they will do it tonight cause they simply play against the weakest team in the group. I hope Czech guys won't hurt me because of it And if we can believe in news Tomasson and Nihat will start as strikers for the Submariners. Nihat scored twice last weekend in Madrid against Atletico in a fantastic 4-3 win. They are confident Pellegrini their coach told it in the press conference. They want and I think they will win in the Republic tonight.

I thought Zenit were worth a stake due to their good odds. There's no denying they are the best team in this match, it's just their mindset that is going to determine the game.

Unfortunately the punters mindset has also come into play here with 2 ends of the spectrum considered. Will they try after a 1-1 draw in their first group match. Orrrr, will they just play it safe in Greece, get a point, with not injuries and win the Russian title on the weekend.

Larissa are the weakest team in the group, so maybe Zenit will be good enough to storm to an unbeatable lead at half time. Then they will have the luxury of being able to defend the 3 points, while at the same time, taking off the key players for the weekend.

Dick Advocatt is gone from Zenit. It's the worst kept secret in Australian football that he will take over in time for Australia's start to the world cup qualifying. He will be in attendance at Australia's friendly game against Nigeria on November 17th. Make no mistake, the Russian title is priority number 1 for this man. UEFA Cup might not mean a great deal as he is gone before the end of the group stages. This might possibly be his last UEFA Cup match.

A fair point was risen earlier that Zenit would really benefit from proceeding from the group stage as there is no football during the winter. This is a cash cow for the club so this match will have to have some importance to them, especially against a team who should not claim any points from this tie.

I'm selecting Zenit in a accumulator with Tottenham and Bayern Munich to add value. Good luck to all.

IMO I think Aberdeen have shown in their previous outings this season in Europe that they are more than capable of holding their own ( Home and Away draws against a very respectable Dnipro side, and a extremely decent performance in Greece two weeks ago unitl their late mistake and a collapse resulting in an unfair scoreline (3-0)). Calderwood will have Sevrin back tonight and this is a huge boost to have a captain with so much experience. Also Jackie McNamara returns and his experience in Europe (with Celtic) with be a huge boost for the younger players in the team. Pittodrie is heading towards being a sell out and I think again this will give the dons a huge advantage.

Lokomotive have not won in their last 4 games and currently are sitting mid table in the Russian league with one game to go after a pretty lowsy season.
The Dons however, as I said above beat Dundee United on Saturday (who are sitting 3rd and are a pretty decent side this year considering they beat Rangers the week earlier) also they have gone 7 games unbeaten in all Scottish Competitions after a woeful start to their campaign they seem to be firing on all cilinders again and showing the form that made them 3rd last year.

They may not win this game but I cant see Loko winning it either, This points to laying Loko.

Prediction 1-0 Aberdeen

Totally agree with you here mate. As a Celtic fan I've seen first-hand how dangerous a team Spartak are and Pavyluchenko in particular impresses me more every time I see him. As you said Leverkusen have a mediocre record away from home in the Bundesliga while Spartak are strong at home. Leverkusen already have 3 points after a 1-0 victory over Toulouse in the first game while Spartak haven't played yet and I fully expect them to qualify from this group so a win is almost essential here.

Also it seems the German sides have struggled so far in Europe. In the CL Stuttgart are out while Werder toiling and I think Spartak will add to their woes here at very nice odds.

Pick Spartak Moscow

Bayern Munich -1 (EH)
Bayern Munich have been very strong and should have little trouble disposing of an ordinary Bolton side with a number of players out injured

Tottenham
The Israeli's have a number of players out injured or likely to be rested for their important domestic game on the weekend. Tottenham will look to this game as another step to winning a european trophy against such a modest opposition

Villareal
The Spaniards have been playing well and meet probably the weakest team in their group. Villareal have the class players to win this quite comfortably.

Hello

Im going to pick Tottenham.
Dont now if they will make it. Hapoel tel aviv is a strong team at home. But many problems for the team they ar at the bottom. So european isnt very important now.

Larissa
Zenit
Im going for Zenit. They are confident to play. If players want to be noticed in europe you have to do good in europe. Dick Advocatt told when they played against standard that the european tour isnt very important wel they crushed standard :s .

some interesting posts, but so far only a couple stand out for me.

Bayern -1.5 ah What needs to be said about a team that boasts Klose, Toni, Podolski, Ribery as its attacking options against a poor Bolton team with injuries and a tactically naive manager.

Also fancy a Bayern, Firentina, Galatasaray treble. Reasons for Bayern above, Galatasaray are awaesome at home against mediocre Helsingborgs and Fiorentina unbeaten this season with strong home record so they too should come through their game with 3 points.

As an outside bet i have gone for Spurts HT/FT. No matter what their form, they have a new manager and are certainly playing for their futures. They have a quality squad, who yes have been underperforming but they are playing a team in their own crisis. Fancy Spurs to do the biz, just hope they can take the lead before half time.

GL everyone
