| Havent seen a thread for this to win this years UEFA tournaments. champions league I think Real Madrid at 9/2 are huge. Barcelona battered Man Utd to prove Spanish teams are stronger than English, and with KAKA, ALONSO, RONALDO and Benzema to name but a few surely they have to be made favourites??? europa league Yes im being bias , but i fancy Villa at 20/1. A lot of strong teams in this, but we destroyed Ajax last year, had the better of CSKA Moscow until we threw the tie away playing kids in Russia, have beaten Porto, Juve and Fiorentina already. If not Villa, Valencia are big at 25/1 ! |

![]() MON prioritised the league over Europe last season, and I think he'll do the same again. They've lost their two oustanding players in Barry and Laursen. I wouldn't take them at 500-1.

| I think Real Madrid will stumble whilst their team gels, before kicking on in the new year, injuries permitting. Whilst I feel they have to be favourites to win the trophy, their odds will lengthen after one or two unconvincing performances and Barcelona / Chelsea / Bayern / Someone do some real damage in the group stages. That will be the time to back them. |

I hope everyone stopped taking this post seriously after his comment about spanish teams proving they are better than english. Three of the final four were english teams.. and the fourth english team (liverpool who KO Real Madrid *4-0 anyone??*) was KO by another english team being chelsea. So im not sure how you explain Spanish sides are better Villa lost to wigan over the weekend, and you expect them to get past the likes of Roma, villareal, valencia, the russians, benfica, and werder bremen? BTW I support Spain over England, and la Liga over the EPL.

We just don't know yet how Madrid will adjust following the new players that have arrived. They could fail to gel and their manager could be out the door by December, so for me, 5.4 and 2nd favourite doesn't represent a decent betting oportunity. The players they have SHOULD win the CL, but they have had world class players every year and failed to get near the final. I think Chelsea offer a better opportunity. They were hard done by last year, and should have reached the final. They were better than Barcelona over the 2 legs, and I'd be surprised if they don't get to at least the semi. Ancelotti has been brought in secificallly to win the CL. If anyone can bring CL glory to Stamford Bridge, he can.

Either way, go for it if you want to. Real Madrid are the last side I can see lifting it this year - they've still not resolved any of their problems - but maybe that's just me. Good luck.

| The problem with the europa cup is that you dont know if the teams will take it seriously, well at least the western side. i think the safest way is to side with the russian side of europe, there is a lot of money over there now and they have won it for the last 2 years so some personal rivalry between these clubs should ensure you getting a decent run for your money and not backing a villa or spurs who think its ok not to turn up once they have made enough money out of their fans. |

| The european cup in my eyes is now a lottery you have to work out who uefa want to win, this was proven last year in the semis and the final involving barcelona. i truly believe that the semi was designed to take as much money off of us as possible and then the final was just a joke,i think fergie was told he had to lose which is why they annihilated barca in the first 10 minutes and then just sat back for the rest of the game, man u were the strongest team last year by a mile i know we are conditioned to think this does not go on but it just does. be very careful how you bet on this cup and if you dont believe me fine its your money and your choice. as an afterthought real could suit this scenario really well as they have spent so much on signings generating more money and more interest in the game as a whole. i dont think they are good enough if it was a level playing field but its not. having no defense and just going with the mentality that they can win every game 4-3 is normally a recipe for disaster especially when you come up against teams that do defend well GL. |

| Europe League I will take four teams here to win. First of all Hamburger SV 6/10 @15. Hamburg is showing more and more of their quality in the team. This weekend they did beat Wolfsburg away from home, before they won clearly against Dortmund! The team has good bench players and is one of the big favourites here. Second team I chose is Shaktar Donezk 3/10 @23. Shaktar started bad getting kicked out in Champions League qualification but I believe they have the potential to show good performances in Europe League again. First sign was the away win against Sivasspor! The last teams which I added are Fenerbahce and Galatasaray both 3/10 @34. Both teams had a very bad last season and invested a lot to make trouble this season. Winning their recent Europe League matches with ease and getting 3 out of 3 wins in domestic league makes them look strong. Christoph Daum and Rijkard, the coaches are also very experienced and they really own two quality teams which have more than one good alternative on bench! Fenerbahce with players such as Dos Santos (you may know him from Brasil national team) Emre, Cristian, Guiza, Alex, Semih and Galatasaray with the turkish national team center backs and in front with Kewell, Arda, Barros, Keita and more! ![]()

| what does the betfair quote you put in mean keliot? if you cant trust your eyes or you live in a world that you honestly believe money doesnt influence things then you really do need to wake up. do not be so quick to put others down, especially when you are making stuff up that is not relevant to the person whose comments you dont agree with. this is purely my opinion which is based on certain scenarios that go on all the time. however you want to look at it it's cool by me i clearly said this is your choice, but dont put me into a group that im not part of also you are proving my point perfectly that we are all conditioned to think a certain way so thankyou. |

| Am i missing something here, Roma and Hamburg are both 10/1 to win this, yet Valencia are third favourites at 14/1. I would have assumed there the strongest team in this competition. Am i missing something here? |

| Valencia can't defend for shit and can be considered unreliable at the best of times. Hamburg haven't looked the same without Jol and Roma have just had Spaletti resign on them. I'd be surprised if any of those sides win this competition. You're probably better looking towards eastern europe for winners of this competition - someone like Dynamo Kiev when they drop out of the Champs League, assuming they finish above Rubin Kazan, or Shakhtar Donetsk to lift it again. |

| Considering any one of a number of teams could come out winning the trophy at the end of the season I dont really like to get involved too much. Having had a look I think Juve are better than their 20/1 price. They have a top class team and I expect will do much better than Arsenal priced at 8/1. |
