Default Re: CL semis 24-25/4 (1st leg)

Apologize for my write-ups earlier about Chelsea. They will be without Essien as he will be suspended from the yellow cards he accumulated in the competition. This will pose a problem for Mourinho for who should deputize on the center of midfield alongside JT. Hence, Geremi and Boulahrouz are two possible candidate. We all know Gereme is quite a decent and consistent performer however his quality is one class below Carvalho. While Boulahrouz on his peak form he can equal Carvalho's quality. Just like what he showed against Ronaldinho sometimes ago eventhough he was not on the centre of the heart, but we all know that this guy can defend.

But for me key battle will be in midfield. As long as Chelsea players can keep Gerrard and Mascherano at bay, this should heavily distrupt Liverpool's play. Since, Gerrard and Mascherano will play a lot of roles to set-up Liverpool's attacking flow. It is too early to say anything about Liverpool since I don't know who will Rafa roughly put out yet.

Regarding MU vs Rossoneri, I think I have to agree with the rest here. AC Milan looked to have a chance here. I wouldn't repeat what you guys already discuss again, but I'm quite confident this will end in a draw hence AC Milan on the handicap looks good since its very possible also that they nick this one in. I see TG Over as a good bet too. With possible scenario being MU will attack to get a goal and settle the match. However, in doing so they could face the danger of AC Counter-Attack against a weakened MU defence. So I think we should see some entertaining football tonight with my predictred scores : 2-2

Milan win

Agree with what was said earlier about Man Utd's defence. They are made up of incompetent second stringers who will struggle to contain Milan. Milan would have seen the tape of the demolition of Roma by Man U and will play a very narrow game. However they themselves have a very good and in form player (Kaka) who will look to exploit this Man Utd weakness. On the other hand, United have Ronaldo who can do as much damage as Kaka, but the Italians are the masters of playing a defensive type of game and will look to constrict the room he gets. I think the danger man is Rooney and if Milan can hold him out then i think they will score 1 to win the game. Also Man UJtd look very tired and lethargic as they seem to have overextended themselves by still being alive in 3 trophies. The one they want is the EPL and the rest are bonuses for them.

Liverpool win

No love lost between these two teams or their respective coaches. However despite Chelsea wanting revenge of their CL loss two years ago to Liverpool and all the hoo-haa associated with Mourinho, the fact is that they are coming into this game missing players, tired and also more focused on the EPL title. Liverpool are fresh and know this is their only chance for honours this year. They are playing alot better then Chelsea, for if it wasn't for Drogba, then they wouldn't be in the running for three trophies. Liverpool will do what they did to Barcelona to shut up all their critics who say they don't deserve to be there.

Match:

Manchester United - AC Milan (24/04/2007)

Tip/s:

Manchester United Win @ 2.00 (Bet365) 10/10

Reasoning:

Manchester are leading, and likely to win, the English Premier. Milan are 4th in the Italian Serie A. I really can't see how the 4th best Italian team will seriously challenge the best English team. The two leagues are a mile apart. Furthermore, Man U are a much faster and more physical team than Milan. The defense woes of Man U are real, but given the frequent difficulty that Milan has in scoring, I don't see this materializing into a problem for Man U. Milan will play defensively and hope for the draw or at least a loss with a goal scored. I can't see Milan lasting for 90 minutes against a fast and creative offense led by Ronaldo. No doubt, the game will be tight with Man U winning by 1-0 or 2-1.

Good luck!

MU - Milan

Waiting for goal rain in Manchester today. MU without defence. Brown and O'Shea against Kaka,Pirlo,Seedorf,Gilardino??? And not very quick Maldini, nervous Kaladze stopping Giggs, Ronaldo, Roony??? What do you think of backing both teams to score and over 2,5???

i think all results are open....Milan will travel to get point/s!Its to difficult guys but in my opinion Milan will get something tonight....They are in good form which means good psychology!Another reason is that Man.United defensce is poor due to injuries....For me X2 is possible
Chelsea-Liverpool:
Guys I expect an open game! Both teams score goals...Drogba...Crouch..Gerard...Kuit...Lambard.. .and the other boys will give us a special Over 2.5 goals

Man Utd 0-0 Milan @ 7.00 with ladbrokes

I can see Milan coming for the draw - we ( celtic ) have played both in the champions league this year and neither scored a goal at Celtic park, Milan as well as utd it could be said didnt have to win in glasgow so played a more controlled game, with utd having a weakened defence the midfield wont over commit ( IMO ) and Milan will be happy with the 0-0. This will be pretty cagey stuff and not a lot of goal-scoring opportunities.

saying that I predicted the Roma game 1-0 utd

If any team is being overrated it is AC Milan. You say they are in great form? In recent games, they have simply beaten Ascoli, Messina and Cagliari - ie. that includes bottom and 2nd from bottom in Serie A. True, they beat Bayern in Munich, but as I live in Germany, I know only too well that the Bayern squad lacks depth. 2 key players were missing on that day ie. Schweinsteiger and Demichelis, and therefore their midfield was dead. It was an easy win for Milan. Against Man U, I can not in my wildest dreams forsee Milan winning. They couldnt even score against Celtic, couldnt even beat Bayern in Milan. For me, Man U win or draw.

Man U Vs AC Milan

i will lay man united @ 2.22

too many defensive problems for man u,the cracks are beginning to appear, Milan will try to shackle Ronaldo tonight. they will not have it easy in midfield, general Gattuso should make sure of that.

i really fancy the draw or milan to sneak it 0-1 hence the lay bet.

key man : Kaka

Milan (+0.5) @ 1.80
Manchester United at home...may look stupid to go against them, but I think Milan with their great capacity and routine might get a draw tonight. Man U with all the missing defenders might be vulnerable to Milan's counterattacks, and I think Man U will have a tough time scoring against Milan, they will play defence with almost all 11 players. Milan to sneak way with a draw looks very possible, Italian teams are the masters of that art of away play.
Over 2 goals @ 1.79
Two attacking minded teams, Man U with lots of injured defenders. Milan will probably play with only one attacker, but I think they can score at least one, and Man U at home, no need to explain their attacking power.

True, but what Man U did in last three?
They lost in Portsmouth (2-1), won over Sheffield 2-0 (not a big task), and a mediocre draw against Boro, last two at home.
If you want to convince me, try another way...

CL game has nothing to do with League games. If your reasoning is based on league games your money are already lost. No bet for me on these games. May be some live bets.

Good luck

You don't have to teach me that CHL has nothing to do with national League.
Actually, that was exactly the meaning of my reply.
But you cannot say that Milan is out form, if you haven't valid argument or any kind of proof.

After seeing the prices available Im giving little thought to who I THINK will win. To have either Milan or Liverpool at 3/1 is an insult. Taking into consideration players missing for both oppositions then I cant back anything other than two aways purely due to the value.

15/1 for Milan/ Liverpool double? Outstanding IMO!

Man Utd will be surprised... Milan had been ridiculed all these times... it's time to prove a point..

In addition, FYI guys... the early market for Torino vs Milan this Saturday is about 1.9.. a second string Milan side with Ronaldo is good enough for Torino i reckon...

ReasoningThe Manchester must today make a good result for giving tranquilidade to it for the game of the return in the Italy, where it must know that it is difficult to obtain a good result in Milan. With the team and Cristiano Ronaldo in excellent form I believe that it has good possibilities to obtain to be successful here. Home win for me

So pretty much everything have been said about this one. Man.Utd with second choice back line. No Ferdinand, No Vidic, no Neville.
Milan is in good momentum currently winning games very easily.
I see this game ending in draw. ManU will for sure conceed tonight, and expect them to score aswell. So scoring draw it is for me. 1:1 looks like more probable but have a strange feeling it might end 2:2.
I'll try Draw, fonbet @3.22, and something on Over 3.5 goals, bet365 @4.5.

Over 2 goals (betjam) 1.71 for me.

I can't see Man U keeping a clean sheet with the decimiated defense and Milan's strikers rested and in form. Man U willl surely be attacking themselves and I see an open game here. Might've hesitated at 2.5 but 2 is a fine number imo.
