Barca vs Inter: Laying the draw at 3.8 on betfair.

Both teams need the 3 points and fully expect barca to overpower the poor travelling italians.

agree with caveman regarding Unirea vs Sevilla. Unirea still have a chance to qualify for the next round so i'm expecting them to be fully motivated in this game. I'm going for Unirea +0.25 asian handicap. good luck

I think that Rangers must win in this game.
On the one hand, Scottish teams always play very strong at home and Rangers is the first place in Scotland now.
On the other hand, Stuttgart is very weak now - only on the 16-th place in Germany and has only 2 wins in 13 games. In the last game Stuttgart had a draw with very bad Herta at home. And Stuttgart has many problems in attack - only 11 goals in 13 games in Germany. And probably Stuttgart will have problems with injured players - Cacau and Schieber.
This write-up is very close to my thoughts when Stuttgart were away to Sevilla, with the Germans being most unlucky in that game. Watched the highlights, double-checked the match stats - it was Stuttgart being the better side. Their passing looked fluent and easy, had a lot of good middle-range shots - you do not see many playing this well at Sevilla.
The Germans are clearly missing a good straight forward, flanks need to compensate from midfield, but they were defending very well against one of the most dangerous teams currently in Europe...
@ podarok I am not going against your pick, defo a no bet for me, but if I had to bet, with what I saw it would be Stuttgart + 0,5 AH. The way you are reasoning your pick is misleading though - ''poor Stuttgart almost bottom of the BL away to League Leaders in Scotland'' - hmmm...If you dig a bit deeper in the stats in the last 3 years, please check the league position of Stuttgart this time around. They are slow-starters, my Sao Paolo in Germany, even managed a title, while last year in December no one thought they would be in Top 3. As of the match with Hertha, I wouldn't take it into consideration either - first Hertha also slightly improved, and second - the game vs Rangers is all that matters now to the Franks. It is not that Stuttgart did great in CL, but Rangers don't have a great hisory here either...
GL though

Dynamo Kiev team news:

Injured: Hacheredi,Aliev,El Kaduri
Suspended: Almeida

Some problems in Kiev's defence as Hacheredi and Almeida out..

Probable line up: Shovkovsky,Betao,Usuf,Magrao,Eremenko,Vukoevich,Mi halik,Ninkovich,Yarmolenko,Sheva,Milevsky

As for Rubin i think they will play 2 strikers this time as both Dominges and Bukharov are available for this match.

My bets: over 2.5 and Dynamo +0.5

Fiorentina – Lyon: Draw @ 3.30 (Stan James) 10/10
A draw serves both teams in terms of qualification. Above all else, Fiorentina does not want to lose, although a win would clinch things. A loss would give Liverpool realistic chances whereas a draw would allow Fiorentina to even lose the next match and still qualify. Lyon, on the other hand, has qualified and a draw also would make them likely winners of the group. There isn’t a great difference between the teams, with Lyon being only slightly better in my opinion. Essentially, the perceived dynamics of the match point to a likely draw result.
Alkmaar – Olympiacos: Olympiacos (+0.5) AH @ 1.76 (Bet 1128) 10/10
The first CL group, match between these teams ended in a 1-0 win for Olympiacos. I think that match indicated that there isn’t much between the teams. Olympiacos has an advantage regarding qualification to the next round. A draw will do them fine whereas Alkmaar must win to have any chance, albeit small. Hence, Alkmaar will push very hard and this will leave space for Olympiacos. The visitors are more than capable of scoring and they may just even win this match given Alkmaar’s all or nothing offensive approach. Olympiacos will be especially careful at the back with the aim of getting at least the draw. The odds aren’t great for Olympiacos on the AH, but they are acceptable, I think.
Rangers – Stuttgart: Over 2.5 goals @ 2.12 (Canbet) 10/10
Both teams will hope they get some help from Seville against Unirea in their effort to qualify. Only a win really improves either team’s chances so tactics for a draw will not be entertained. Both teams will come out wanting to win the match and they will be looking for goals. Neither team has shown that they have a particularly reliable defensive line and we should get at least 3 goals here.
Rubin Kazan – Dinamo Kiev: Rubin Kazan @ 2.10 (Betfair) 10/10
I don’t think Rubin Kazan will let the opportunity to advance in the CL get away. They have good momentum, at the moment, having celebrated winning the Russian title. This is a team that got 4 out of 6 points from Barcelona and a draw from Inter. Dinamo is a competitive team, but I think the hosts are also a competitive team and here they have the home advantage and good momentum going into this match. Finally, Dynamo Kiev has 15 players on the Ukrainian National Team. A week ago they played two tough matches against Greece and were eliminated from the World Cup. In terms of fatigue and positive psychology this can’t be good, I think. Odds over 2.00 are quite good for Rubin’s win here.

  • barca v inter
[Barca need a win badly, but they are playing really poorly at the moment. Messi is off form and Ibra has not really replaced Eto'o. Furthermore Barca may be playing without both their frontmen, so I will definitely wait to see how they line up before I place my bet. If Barca field their full strength team, then I will bet on a home win.
  • debrecni v liverpool
[Liverpool need a win to have any chance of progressing. Although they have many injury problems and are off form, they should be too strong for the hungarians. An away win for Liverpool seems to be a good bet.]

  • real madrid v zurich
[real madrid need a win and should be too strong for zurich. A win before the clasico on sunday against barca will be all that real fans would demand, especially after the poor display during the weekend. Furthermore Ronaldo might make the bench for this game.

  • arsenal v standard
[arsenal need a point to progress and a morale boosting victory going in for the game against chelsea next weekend. I will wait for more team news before placing my bet since arsenal might be a bit too stretched at the moment.]
Welcome. Take a look at www.onlinefreebets.co.uk/pages/value_betting_guide before placing any of these bets!

I know Fiorentina cannot afford to lose tonight as they want to progress finally to the knockout phase. For some reason i just cant see a win tonight. They lost at home 3-2 to Parma over the weekend who now take over Fiorentina into 3rd place. They have no Mutu and Jovetic who is a doubt but the manager said he wont play because he hasnt played in about 2 weeks. If you look at the Debrechen game where they scored 5, yes they scored a lot and it shows they can get goals from other players excluding Mutu, Gilardino & Jovetic but it was against Debrechen, but even the game before Parma (Udinese) they only won 1-0.

To highlight both their last two games, both Fiorentinas goals on the weekend were scored from corners, and the Udinese game Vargas scored from a direct free kick.
Lyon on the other hand, not also doing that well. They've lost their lead at the top of the table and they dropped points on the weekend by drawing 1-1 with the bottom team and it took them around 60 minutes to take the lead, in addition to that Grenoble lost a player by a red card then scored the equaliser!!

I dont know about this game, just warning people, a Fiorentina win seems a decent bet if you take into account Lyon's last game, but Fiorentina's recent form plus their ways of scoring (set pieces) against a team with a decent keeper Lloris doesnt back that up. Im having a tough time deciding a decent prediction here, maybe suggest Lyon to win or draw here considering their history in Italy or possibly under 2.5 goals. A draw on the card is a good result for Lyon as well

On the other hand we will see motivated Romanian team, which could cement their promotion to next stage with first home win...
This is exactly one of those clashes, which bookies love. Many bettors see only the big name and great form of one team like Sevilla, even don't care about unusual high odds (should be around 1,80 under normal circumstances) and totally forget about lack of motivation. I think Sevilla will fully concentrate on League in next weeks, cos it seems to become one of best recent seasons of this club...Would recommend to await team news, and if too many key players from first team missing to lay Sevilla, especially if players Navarro, Navas, Kanoute or Fabiano will be rested.
I m with you Cave. I really dont see an away win here. Romania has always worries me. I think twice when ı bet against romanian teams.

Liverpool -1.5 @ 1.91 pinnacle
Liverpool -2.5 @ 3.20 bet365
Liverpool not only have to win this game but also need to score quite a few goals in order to have a chance to progress through. If Lyon win against Fiorentina, then they only need to win this game and the next against Fiorentina to progress, or if there is a draw between the other two teams, then if Liverpool win by 3 goals here, then they will need to win byt 3 against Fiorentina, however if they win by 4 goals against Debrecen, then they only need 2 goals against Fiorentina - all this provided the other game does not see Fiorentina win.
Liverpool were much the better side against Lyon only to draw to a sucker punch in the last miuntes of the game. They also were the better team against Man City on the weekend before some defensive mix ups saw them draw that one too. They outplayed Debrecen at home even though some poor finishing saw it only end 1-0. They have most of their players now back from injury and given the magnitude of a must win game by several goals, expect them to show their class difference with an emphatic victory, otherwise they can forget about progressing any further in this competition.

Arsenal -1.5 @ 1.90 pinnacle
Arsenal -2.5 @ 3.05 bet365
While Arsenal only need a draw to progress, they are not a team that is built to sit on a point, as Wenger wants then to regularly attack. They have some very creative players like Fabregas and Arshavin in the team, and even though they suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Sunderland on the weekend, they still had the chances to score. They should be still able to create similar amount of chances against a Standard Liege side that has an outside chance of progressing and are likley to be missing some key players like Jovanovic and De Camargo. Arsenal seem to play much better at home than on the road in the Champions League and with results like 2-0 over Olympiacos and 4-1 ove AZ Alkmaar, they have the ability to score quite a few against Liege

This weekend Dynamo beat Shakhtar 3-0 and will be in a good mood for this match.Basicly every team in this group have chance to qualify at the moment so it is must win for every team.

Maybe win is a bit long shot but double chance looks realistic.

More info and team news to follow....
Don't know why but i have some bad feelings about this match today.
Still took overs and Dynamo +0.5 but...

Just read interview with Rubin's chairman and had a good laugh

He doesn't understand why Barca is number 1 in UEFA ranking while his club only 106 Also he is upset that Zenit,CSKA,Lokomotiv and Spartak are also above them Cheaky c*nt,he thinks if they beat Barca and drew with Inter once in 51 years time they are best club in the world
Also he said they don't like Dynamo and Gazaev but do like Shakhtar

Common Dynamo, show them how to do it ...

Arsenal v Liege

Arsenal have been brilliant at home so far this season, reacing the -1 handicap in everygame bar the 2-1 Carling Cup win over Liverpool. We've scored 33 goals in 10 games so far and only conceded 7.

Liege on the other hand have poor away form, scoring only 3 in their last 5 away games, conceding 7, against much weaker teams than Arsenal.

Arsenal are without Van Persie but welcome back Walcott and Denilson into the team, whilst Arshavin, Vela, Eduardo, Rosicky, Nasri and Fabregas offer plenty going forward.

Arsenal only need 1 point to qualify but they won't sit back, especially after failing to score at the weekend, and I feel poor Liege could be in for a bit of a battering.

Over 2.5 Goals 8/15 - 10pts
Over 3.5 Goals 11/8 -
7.5pts
Over 4.5 Goals 3/1 -
5pts
Correct Score 4-0 11/1 -
1.5pts
Correct score 5-0 20/1 -
1pt

good bet....although you have to be a bit wary of the fact that (a) inter's away form is nothing short of awful. Expect them to play mourinho's style and defend aggressively. (b) barca might be without messi and ibra. without these two, they offer little going forward and might be considered a bit toothless. (c) barca have lost their form a bit at the moment.

I dont know why people are backing barca at odds on there is no value . Barca are playing inter millan a top side with a great manager , they have a few players out of this game so backing them at odds on seems pointless but good luck to all

Don't agree mate, with all respect of ur patriotism here
Kazan got 4 points in 2 matches again Barca, which other team in last years could claim the same? If Kazan is such a poor team, why they won Russian League again? Sure Barca is a little bit out of form, ok, agree, but what about Draw against Inter? Kiew played them also at home and lost...
IMO Kazan showed with winning domestic championship last week in front of teams like CSKA, Spartak or Zenit, that we will see them as permanent power in CL at least for one more year, which also means they should be placed at least as 32th of UEFA list, which will be the case more sooner than ppl think...
Regarding today's match, i agree with my mate Xaralas from BA forum, could end as a draw, even first leg should have ended as draw, only 2 late goals made Kiew getting out of this clash as winners. A team which drawed Inter & Barca at home, won't lose against Kiew IMO. If my weather forecast tells the truth, we have light Snow fall & Temps around Zero °C atm, even tonight...Even if players are adjusted to those circumstances, I can't see a high scoring match, could end as 1:0 or 1:1...

for those who are interested in Xaralas' bet here a copy:

Rubin Kazan - Dinamo Kiev: Draw @ 3.50 (Unibet) 2/10

Excuse my seemingly simple-minded approach here, but despite the 2 units there is good logic in it. Under normal ciscumastances, if there is any logic to derive from first 4 rounds, this is a draw. Rubin -apart from the miraculous result at Barcelona- has 2 draws at home, with both Barca and Inter, two teams stronger than Dinamo, but of course accustomed to different climate. In any case, Inter played with extra man and still Rubin held, Barca had a game domination and Rubin still held. Dinamo on other hand has shown a very good perfomance in the group, and in away games, 1 defeat after a very good game in Barca and a 2-2 draw at Meazza vs Inter. In last game, they were just unlucky to lose to Inter and tonight they have to avoid defeat to hope for qualification. In my mind, Rubin is so hard to tackle at home, while Dinamo gives any game a good fight and draw should be a result to look for in this game. Draw leaves both teams hopes alive here and it is an expected outcome when two more or less equal teams collide. I can't expect any of them to lose easy here and that 3.50 should be tried low stakes, if you ask me. GL!

he also posts here at PL, u should also check his other picks this round:
http://bettingadvice.com/showPredict...php?idMenu=204

IMO one of best punters around whole betting scene, decent quality stuff!!

P.S@ Xaralas : If u are there mate and don't want me to post ur pick, plz PM me

liverpool will find it hard to score without torres and babel but i expect kuyt and gerard will play forward

sevilla if motivated to win can but since they are already qualifed i don't expect much effort from them. a draw in my opinion

rubin playing on snowy pitch against their neighbours rivals. this game will be even. also another draw
