Default Transfers in the Danish leagues

This is a thread, where me and hopefully any others with knowledge of the transfered players will come with inputs considering the players bought to the Danish league this winter-transfer.
This will hopefully give us a good view of which teams are likely to improve, and give us a better point to bet from

Personally I'll rate the transfers on a 1 to 5 scale.

Steven "psycho" Lustü from Lyn to Silkeborg
Unknown price, Silkeborg got him, but was in competetion with AGF, amongst other clubs.
Lustü is a strong centreback, who has had a few caps on the national Danish team.
He is a leading type, who might take some of the responsibility off the shoulders of Hansen. He might also bring some stability to a defence that has let 36 goals in, in 18 matches.
He has said, that he will even play for the club if gets relegated, a definate fighting type.

Even though he's nearing the end of his career, at 35, I think he's a very good transfer for a bottom-end club.

My rating is 4, because of the stability and experience Lustü has. I think he will add a lot to a club like SIF.

Default FC København

Ailton Almeida from Örgryte to FC København
Reportedly a 23 million DKK transfer (just about 2 million pounds.)
Young brazilian striker Ailton has been expected with great anticipation by many FCK fans, myself included.
I do not have a lot of information about him, his agent said a lot of bigger clubs around Europe has had sensors out, but that FCK seemed the best solution.
He is a good technical and fast striker, who scores a lot of goals. Lately his goal haul has not been that big, most people think that this is down to either his thoughts being with his new club, or a minor injury he's being playing with.
He is supposed to be a bit like Alvaro Santos, whom FCK sold this summer, just smaller, weaker and faster.

I think he will be a good addition to the very thin striking line FCK has with only Berglund and Allbäck being pure strikers, with Pimpong, Grønkjær and Hutchinson sometimes taking the offensive duties. Berglund is not the speedy striker FCK had wished to buy, at least not for the European cups, he has been performing well in the domestic league, but I think Ailton will be able to add some more international class.

G:G: "I´m pretty sure he´ll turn out to be an excellent player for FCK. I have seen him play several times, and he is already a high class player, and he will hopefully continue to get better and develope in to a really great player. You never know for sure, but he has a huge potential."

I have to add, that I have never seen this guy in action, but have made some research on him, and he seems quite the talent.

I will give him the rating 5, based on my very limited knowledge, but FCK really have been needing some firepower in the Champions League, and I think he can add that, if FCK manage to get to that point once again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Niclas Jensen from Fulham to FCK
Reportedly on a free transfer, from 1'st of February.

Niclas Jensen, who has been in and out of different clubs away from Denmark, has finally decided to go home to Denmark again.
The Danish international found himself out of favour, after Coleman got Quedrue, who was in front of him.
Niclas Jensen is offensively a genius, while he might be lacking a bit defensively by international standards. Not by SAS league standards, he's quite above average defensively and will become a great asset offensively with Grønkjær, whom he's been linking up with on the national team before.

FCK now have 3 defenders that cover the left side of the back line, with Wendt being the young talent, Jensen the experienced, yet still quite young (31,) player. Then Bergdølmo will most likely work as a cover player on all the 4 positions in the back-line which he masters.

4, this is taking into consideration that FCK already have Wendt, who's been performing excellently lately, coming on Skysports CL team of the week. But Niclas is a definate buy for any Danish club in my eyes
------------------------------------------------------------------------

FC København have done well on the transfer market, getting 2 players giving a score of 9, and an average score of 4.5 like Brøndby.
They've added some international quality through Jensen, and in Ailton they've gotten a potential star: "I´m pretty sure he´ll turn out to be an excellent player for FCK. I have seen him play several times, and he is already a high class player, and he will hopefully continue to get better and develope in to a really great player. You never know for sure, but he has a huge potential." Quote: G:G

Default Brøndby

Stephan Andersen from Charlton to Brøndby
Price is rumoured to be around 4,5 millions DKK (400.000 £), reportedly Leeds and other championship clubs were chasing the keeper

Stephan Andersen is a great keeper in my eyes, and he comes at a really dry spot, Ankergren has been the weakest link on Brøndby for years, and how he got on the national team, I do not understand.

Stephan got some games under his belt last season for Charlton, but after fighting Myhre for the spot, Charlton brought in another keeper in Carson, who beat them both. Andersen did well for Charlton in most of the matches he played, and put the old keeper Kiely on the bench.

He's had a few caps for the national team already, and is at 24 very young in keeper terms. It is a keeper with international class that Brøndby have secured, and I think Maulensteen has been much better in the winter transfer than in the summer, till now at least

I know I'm giving awfully high ratings, but this is another 5 in my eyes, a keeper with quality to be in the premier league, and Ankergren has been piss poor in my eyes, very good move by Brøndby.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mikkel Bischoff from Coventry (Manchester City) to Brøndby
Free transfer
Mikkel Bischoff was the hottest talent in Denmark 4 years ago, when he got a deal with Manchester City, unfortunately injuries cost him his chance on the team and he was forced to leave this summer.
He was then set to become the main man for Coventry, but injuries once again ruined it for him.
The defender of 1.93 cm is now returning to the Sas league to kickstart his career again, and could prove to give stability to the shaky Brøndby defense. If he can stay fit.
Will be interesting to see what Bischoff and Andersen will add to the defensive line of Brøndby, Bischoff might become the tall defender Brøndby has been looking for.

My rating of Bischoff will be 3.5, I really wonder, how they can go out and buy an injury prone player, when they already have 11 injuries, but he could prove me wrong by staying fit, and if he manages to do that he will be a major asset.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Katongo from Jomo Cosmos to Brøndby
No info on transferprice
Katongo is apparently one of the best strikers in the South African league, the Zambian international has netted 15 times in 15 games and should be a hot goal scorer.

He is a strong striker, who has the ability to dribble a few guys too. He is apparently as good as Zuma, but more of a forward type, according to a South African reporter, who thinks it is a very good player Brøndby has brought in.

Katongo said bigger clubs were after him, but that he felt he owed Brøndby something, since they'd helped rebuild the Zambian national team, after the original team crashed with their plane.

Katongo will be going in directly in the starting 11 I believe, Sigurdsson hasen't proved anything, and it seems the B-striker will see that his days are counted, with Peguerro and Rasmussen coming back at some point. Not that I have that much confidence in Peguerro.

I'll give this transfer a 5, as Brøndby have been missing a good forward for long, and if this player is anywhere near Zuma's standard he'll come in good.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

3 transfers made by Brøndby, giving a score of 13.5, an average score of an amazing 4.5, even though I hate to admit it they've done very well on the transfer market.

Køhlert promoted to manager
Formerly he was training youth teams
Apart from getting 3 players, Brøndby have also gotten a new manager in Tom Køhlert. Maulensteen never really left a good impression.

Køhlert is a man who's forces are in making talents, and his focus is on discipline. This is already seen in the club, as Elanga has been told to find himself another club, after arriving too late to the plane going to Spain (might not be the sole reason, but this is the official story.)

Køhlert is reportedly going to revert Brøndby into a 4-4-2 formation, and it will be interesting to follow him, even though it's the second time he's manager for the team, the first time Brøndby managed to win the league.

I will rate Køhlert a 4, as he already knows everything about the club and has managed to win the league before.

Default FC Nordsjælland

Martin Bernburg from FC København to FC Nordsjælland
Unknown price
Martin Bernburg is a major talent from FCK, that has gotten his debut on the U21 national team. He's a big boxplayer with limited technical qualities. He's failed to impress for FCK when playing for the senior team, and has tried his luck with FCN.
He did play well in the Viasatcup though, where he showed how dangerous he is upfront.
He will compete with Santala and Nordstrand, and FCN obviously needed more alternatives in the attack.

Martin Bernburg has a lot of potential, but was way off FCK's team, maybe with some more time he can become a good striker.

I give this transfer the rating 2, as I don't think Bernburg has shown anything at sas-league level, and is at most a good transfer for the future.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bajram Fetai from Silkeborg to FC Nordsjælland
Fetai was given a free transfer after making trouble in the squad
The young wing/striker who was sold at an early age to Rangers decided to come to Denmark, as he couldn't break into the line-up in Scotland.
At first Silkeborg offered him a contract and I really think he did well, considering his age, and he did get some time on the field, but then he hit another player or something like that, don't remember and FCN were quick to snap him up.
He will fit in well, with his speed, technique and good shooting abilities, besides his young age, that matches the other players. He will get lots of competition from players like Richter and Danny Olsen, but I think there will be minutes to all of them, as Wieghorst likes to give the young players a chance.

Still, I do not feel FCN needed another wing, and his level is not yet on par with wings in clubs like FCM, FCK, OB and Brøndby, whom FCN will be competing with and I will give the transfer the rank 3.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Henrik Bødker from Roskilde KFUM to FC Nordsjælland
No info on transfer price

Henrik Bødker has been named the new Christian Poulsen, and has been quite brilliant keep Roskilde's middlefield tight throughout the season, but one think is playing for Roskilde in the lower divisions, it's another thing entirely coming to FCN in the best division. It's been done before though, just look at players like Nordstrand and Due, Due was sold to Vitesse this summer.

I have never actually seen this guy in action, but if he is anywhere near Poulsen it'll be a great transfer for FCN, but the trainer of Roskilde is not really a reliable source in my eyes, and I will be looking forward to see him in the league.

As I have absolutely no idea of how good this guy is, I will have to give him 3, some info from the lower league punters would be great
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

FCN have gotten in 3 players, who are quite unknown to most people. But they have good talent work, so I think the players they've brought in are in line with their normal transfers, do not be mislead by the low rating I've given, as I think Bernburg and Fetai at least has a lot of potential, and Bødker could turn out to be a jewel in the rough.
Well, the rating of the 3 transfers is 8 giving an average of 2.66.

Default Re: Transfers in the Danish leagues

Sergey Dadu from CSKA Moskva to FC Midtjylland
Transfer price is unknown

Dadu is a tall forward from Moldavia, who has played 25 matches for his national team and scored 7 goals.
I do not know anything about this guy, but he has been lent out to the club Alania the last 1 and a half year, so obviously CSKA couldn't use him.

I think this is in realization of FC Midtjylland being likely to lose players likes Dennis Sørensen and Thygesen this winter, Dadu seems like the same type of player as Sørensen.

Based on my limited knowledge on this guy, I have to give him the average rating of 3. He has played for Moldavia after all, and comes from a big club, who couldn't use him. But he's 1.87 cm and weights 84 kilo, so if he has nothing else, he has got physique!

Preben Lundbye promoted to manager for Silkeborg
John Faxe Jensen and Ove Christensen both said no to the job.
Lundbye has been in charge of the youth academy for some time, and knows most of the young players on the SIF team. He has been around the club for years and would have very detailed knowledge on the squad.

The 56-year old manager's only experience is as assisting manager, and it will be interesting to follow how he'll do with the team needing to be saved from relegation.

Former Schalke-forward and chief of sport (?) in Silkeborg has said that he is looking very much forward to see what Lundbye can do with the team and expects an instant reaction from the team.

I'll give this trainer a rating of 3, as he has good knowledge about the young players, and might give them a shot. On the other hand he has no experience as manager and might be biased towards the younger players. We'll see when the season starts.

I'll have to make another thread for people leaving clubs, Brøndby manager Maulensteen has just quit!
Køhlert is taking over, former trainer and youth trainer in the club, I'll do a small write-up on him later.

Slightly off topic, but as an Aussie and casual Qld Roar fan I'm keen to know how David Williams is going over there? I see he's scored a couple of goals in the Royal League. How's he going in general?

David is a great talent, I would have loved for FCK to get him.
He'll be fighting to get into Brøndby's starting line-up for the spring season, and I think he should have been included before, but I guess they felt he needed more experience.

About Ailton: I´m pretty sure he´ll turn out to be an excellent player for FCK. I have seen him play several times, and he is already a high class player, and he will hopefully continue to get better and develope in to a really great player. You never know for sure, but he has a huge potential.

Magne Sturød from OB to AC Horsens
No info on transfer-fee
Magne Sturød is a quite unknown player, he had some time in OB, but had both Jonas Borrin and Johan Absalonsen in front of him to the left wing, and only managed to play in 3 matches this season.

He has now joined Horsens in pursuit of more minutes on the field, and I think he will actually strenghten the squad, as Horsens are not know for their strong wings. Horsens strikers have scored 11 out of their 12 goals, which tells us something about how sharp, or unsharp their wings are.

This transfer I rate as a 3, because a player signed from OB to a bottom-end club will *nearly* always make the squad stronger, especially as Horsen's wings are as weak as they are.

Thanks a lot mate, strongly doubt Brøndby will be contenders this year, but expect them to climb the ranks fast and being back to normal (or near normal, still after FCK in my eyes. Miles after )
Will be interesting to see what a "big" name like Lustü can do for a club in the trouble Silkeborg are in. Losing Fetai was stupid though in my eyes, a disciplinary penalty would be enough, but I do not know all the details ...

Jesus, how did i miss this thread. Fantastic job Jonne.

To Crouch potato: Williams has scored 9 goals for the reserves this season, and has a great part in them leading the 2. division East. He has participatet in 14 first team matches, and scored one goal. He should be a great prospect for the future if he is patience.
