Görteborg - Norrköping

The line seems to have dropped somewhat, possibly on the news that Norrköping will likely miss veteran defender Kristoffer Arvhage. Champions Göteborg haven't been too impressive so far but the're a much stronger team than Norrköping and should win this one. There haven't been any real upsets in Allsvenskan so far this year. Norrköping lost their first away game 0-2 while Göteborg won their first home game 4-1, so some people will no doubt play the AH. My feeling is Norrköping will work very hard to avoid being humiliated though, so I'll probably lay off this game completely.

Combo: Home wins for Elfsborg and Helsingborg, 2.40 @ expekt.com

As I said earlier in the thread, there haven’t been any upsets in Swedish football so far this year. If that trend holds true, Elfsborg and Helsingborg will both be winners. They are strong, aggressive home teams with big ambitions while both their opponents are notoriously bad away from home. That’s what the bookies think too, so the odds on Elfsborg and Helsingborg are very low. So I’m going to try something I rarely do: a combination. I’ll probably get screwed, but at least I won’t lose as much as if I played them one by one.

If I had to pick just one, I guess I would go with Elfsborg. They were very impressive in their first home game, to AIK. Örebro are just awful away from home. Bizarrely, they actually won this game last year (their only away win), but that was late in the season while Elfsborg were preoccupied with their European campaign.


Trelleborg – Malmö, Over 2 goals, 1.74@10bet

Malmös three games so far have all ended with 1-1 draws. This was their problem last year too. They don’t seem to be able to win tight games. The game against Trelleborg is something of a local derby, and especially the home team will be very fired up. The bookies have Malmö as slight favourites, which is probably fair since they’re the better team, but Trelleborg look sharper than last year and have a very shrewd new manager in Tom Prahl. My wager on over 2 goals is pretty conservative, I guess. If you want to be a cowboy, play Trelleborg dnb!


Djurgården – Halmstad, no play
Halmstad is a fairly young team that has shown excellent fighting sprit early in the season. Djurgården away is always a very hard game, but I wouldn’t bet against Halmstad grabbing a point just like they did in Helsingborg and in Göteborg. No play for me though.

Göteborg won kinda easy after they scored there first goal.. i regret i did back them up with more money.. i was there ofc and it was some nice saturday entertainment =)

ELFSBORG-ÖREBRO

Will have my first bet from this league on this game. It looks pretty straight forward even though it is early in the season. Elfsborg were very good against AIK in their first home game, winning 3-0. They play on an artificial pitch, and this often a advatage for the home team. They also played 2 away draws with Malmö and GAIS. Örebro had nothing to put up against IFK Göteborg in their first away game, loosing 4-1. They also lost at home to Kalmar 0-1 and won their first game this season at home to Trelleborg, another team likely to be fighting for survival. Interestingly Örebro actually won here last season, 0-2. But like Mazarin said, it was very late in the season. You would have to go all the way back to 1998 to find another looser (and dropped points) for Elfsborg at home in this fixture.
