Kalmar @ 2.15 (Expekt)
Halmstad must be considered as this seasons positive surprise, now at 4th place only one point behind Elfsborg. I don't think they will finnish within top 4 however, they have started to loose their form, last five are 1-2-2. Halmstad also have a serious goalkeeping problem now: 1st keeper Bahne got injured vs Göteborg, who were up 1-0 when that happened. His replacement Carlsson let two easy goals in, he is nowhere near Bahne's class imo. It's interesting that Halmstad have sent their 2nd keeper (imo) Sahlman to Trelleborg on loan, they can't take him back. They also got two red cards in that match: central defender Larsson and midfielder Johansson, but on the positive side central defender Zvirgzdauskas is back from suspension. Kalmar ended their awful "loosing streak" of two 0-5 matches with a 3-1 win vs Djurgården. This match showed Kalmar back to normal: solid defending and lethal in set pieces situations, a very important win for Kalmar that was. Kalmar will miss central midfielder Rydström, but on the other hand central midfielder Elm back. The way I see this match is that Halmstad are on the way down, add to that important missings and that Kalmar looks to be back to normal. 2.15 well worth a try.

Elfsborg @ 2.20 (Nordicbet)
Gefle just lost their best player, midfielder Makondele who left for Helsingborg, furthermore midfielder Bapupa is suspended. Gefle have been very poor for a while now, and when their thin line up is even thinner very much points towards awaywin: 1) Gefle were awful vs Gais when they lost 0-1 last round, barely created one scoring opportunity, Gais should have been up 3-0 at halftime, only Gais usual toothless finishing kept the score down. 2) Gefle are strong at home, only one loss, but the artficial grass advantage does not exist in this match, 3) Gefle have gathered enough points to stay clear from relegation, the three newcomers are seven points behind 4) Elfsborg of course highly motivated, they are in the middle of the title race and need three points 5) Elfsborg the better team from every possible perspective. Conclusion: 2.20 have a very good value.

Another idea I have is AIK, 2.50 looks very, very tempting.

Trelleborg @ 7.25 (Unibet)

Well, for once I'm going to stick my neck out with an "impossible" play for saturday. My reasoning is simply that Trellborg has a lot more to play for, and they are a somewhat improved team compared to earlier in the season. With a bit of luck they could have won against both Örebro and Halmstad. Furthermore this is kind of a local derby and pretty much the only game of the year which will have a large group of travelling Trelleborg fans. Trelleborg won their game earlier in the season. Malmö recently sold one of their best defenders; a clear signal that they no longer believe in a top spot.

Odds of 7.25 would indicate that Unibet think there's a less than 15 % chance of an upset. I value Trelleborgs chances to more like 20 % so I think it might be worth a small wager.

Agree about 7.25 not corresponding with Trelleborg's chance. GL with his one

Agree with you on Malmö - Trelleborg.

Malmö have played awful the last games and also face some problems for todays game.

Anders Andersson, regular center defender is injured and will be replaced by brazilian Gabriel. This for sure will weaken Malmö. Midfiedler Christian Järdler also miss the game due to a cold and striker Jonatan Johansson is out of form and starts on the bench.

I've watched Malmö quite a lot the last time and even if they have 2 wins (Brommapojkarna and Halmstad) they havn't played well. In fact, I would say they should be quite lucky bringing home three points from this games. Against AIK last week they were totally outmanouvered.

Trelleborg have opportunity to hit this one, bring home some points. New signing Krisitan Haynes from AIK probably starts. By tradition Trelleborg also use to give Malmö problems in this small derby.

Over 7 for away win is to high in my opinion, but also DNB looks good.

I play Trelleborg DNB @ 5,50 (bet365)

Thank you guys for Trelleborgs, you encouraged me to take them on, much safer +1 option at quite nice odds, and it worked. Cheers!

It was worth a shot, just as I suspected I didn't see the game, opting instead for the Liverpool game followed by the incredibly boring first half of Bordeaux-Monaco. Football is not always "the beautiful game"

I very much hope that too

Helsingborg -0,25 @ 2.01 (Pinnacle)
Both teams with some important missings, Helsingborg without their best goalscorer and Djurgården without both their central midfielders, Riihilahti and Arneng. I think Djurgården's missings will prove tougher to replace, also Helsingborg can field three new players today: Makondele can play up front next to Larsson, and Kolar as left winger. Especially Makondele may be a very good injection, but question is if he can fit in today already. I think that Helsingborg have the best form, played well away to Elfsborg while Djurgården performed very lame at home to Kalmar. Djurgården have not been solid on the road this season, and I think Helsingborg may be a bit too tough for them today.

Im with you on that one. IMO both new signings could prove to be quite a boost for the Helsingborg team. Especially excited about Kolar start in Hels lineup, Mokandele (mentioned almost in every pick you wrote about Gefle), is a high-quality add on at this level. With Larsson upfront i can see them causing some mayhem in Djurs defence.

Not really, they usually try to score as early as possible and play very attacking minded at home, they were up 2-0 vs Malmö at ht. In the home match vs Liepajas AIK was pretty poor in the 1st half, but the reason for that, imo, was that the coach tried a 3-5-2 system, when they changed back to 4-4-2 in the 2nd things started to work again.

Forgot to add my pick:

AIK @ 2.37 (Betfred)
Ok, I have to officially back AIK also...This odds does not reflect my valuation of this match. Hammarby look worn out, haven't played well for a while and I must rank AIK as the better team right now. This is a derby match so motivation won't be a problem, also the table position's not very important imo. I just say that AIK should have a 50% chance at winning today, they have a much sharper attack, a somewhat better midfield and more options on the bench. The homefactor not important, the venue will be Råsunda.

Today I will play Elfsborg and Helsingborg as many in this thread look like they are going with. Elfsborg one of the class teams in the ligue have not been good on the road Gefle on the other hand have been strong at home only allowing 4 goals in 9 games however as GG mentiones Gefle will be missing 2 good players today Elfsborg are clearly the class team. Elfsborg's last road game they went down 2-1 to Djurgarden to a late goal in the 90th so I trust them enough to play them on the road against a team with the class of Gefle, Elsborg should definetly get a result lets just hope its a win and not a draw. As far as Helsingborg go Give them a great shot to win this game It is a big game for them as they are 6 points out of Europe they are in much better form than Djurgarden..And after taking down Drogheda in Uefa Qualifying on Thursday I think that will give them an added boost as well. Looking ahead Djurgarden have Trelleborgs at home next game so that would be a good rebound game

Gefle 0-1,2 Elfsborg
Helsingborg 2-1 Djurgarden

Hows the weather up north in Gavle ? I feel Elfsborg are not happy to play in mud, or it is artificial pitch, am I wrong ? So no drawback for Elves ?

Pitch: Check my reasoning for Elfsborg, part 2). Weather in Gävle: Raining atm, supposed to clear up before matchstart. Don't know much about Elves and/or their drawbacks though.

All is Well GG...Any thoughts today on the AIK game? Looking at AIK as they are in perfect Form 5-0-0 last five +10 GD at Hammarby who have not been playing well as of late but still hold a strong home record still up in the air with this one I'm thinking AIK but know it will be a tough game.
May bet draw?

My thougths: Check further up, I'm backing AIK today, mate. Homeadvantage no factor, venue is Råsunda.
