Helsingborg without Larsson, attacker Shelton (sold to Sheffield U) and defender Granqvist (Wigan on loan). I don't know anything about Odense, but Helsingborg does not look strong atm, also Odense should be ahead couse their season starts sooner than Helsingborg's season.

Seems it would be worth a punt on Odense, they're doing well on their pre-season trip and have made 3 transfers, Helveg, Troest and some striker that is supposed to be good :p

Certainly have a dabble at Brøndby +0.5 @ 2.05. FCK will be resting Grønkjær, Linderoth, Alback and Niclas Jensen. I took this with small stakes already. Brøndby will also miss a couple off players, but not hurt as bad as FCK. Brøndby also get long wantet players back from injury, players they missed big time before the break. Should be a thight game, and expect Brøndby to get minimum 1 point here.

Thanks for info, Rumlesen. I'll try Bröndby +1 at 1.95, Centrebet.

Odense - Helsingborg - 1

Maybe a bit to early, but I think odds on Odense will fall during the week. I'm a big fan of Helsingborg and never bet against my own team (actually I never bet their games at all), but I can't see how they could take a point in this game.

Both Odense and Helsingborg are already through to the quarterfinal, so this game means only places 1-3 in the group.

Last game between the two teams ended 1-0 to Helsingborg, but that doesn't matter. The game was played in december during heavy rain and the pitch was awful. More water polo than football...

I don’t know anyting about Odense’s form or squad status, but in Helsingborg, nothing is alright.

Helsingborg have Henrik Larsson on loan to Manchester United, Andreas Granqvist (former captain) on loan to Wigan and have recently sold striker Luton Shelton to Sheffield U. Injured players are Fredrik Svanbäck, Erik Wahlstedt, Oscar Rönningberg, Gustaf Andersson and Oskar Berglund (reserve keeper). At least Rönningberg will miss the game against Odense and Svanbäck hasn’t enough match fitness to start.

Last Saturday (10th of February) I saw Helsingborg play a friendly against FC Nordsjälland and I must say Helsingborg performed a miserable game, lost 0-3.

The starting line was:
Daniel Andersson
Andreas Landgren, Oscar Rönningberg, Fredrik Björck, Franco Miranda -
Babis Stefanidis, McDonald Mariga, Andreas Jakobsson, Andreas Dahl -
Fredrik Olsson, Olivier Karekezi

Since Rönningberg got injured I would expekt Jakobsson play central defender against Odense, a position he hasn’t been very succesful with in Helsingborg. Seventeen years old Andreas Landgren probably take Jakobsson’s position if Erik Wahlstedt recovers from injury and take care of right defence.

The attackning partners Olsson and Karekezi preformed nothing against Nordsjälland and coach Stuart Baxter is very concerned about the whole squad right now. Too small squad he thinks and not at all same team as played so succesfully during the autumn.

But not only the attacking is bad – the defence is even worse. Captain Andreas Granqvist has left a giant hole behind him and Jakobsson is not the man to replace him. Furthermore, Jakobsson is needed in the midfield. If Wahlstedt plays the defence will be a bit better, but it won’t be good with Björck/Jakobsson. And the left defence position is a catastrophe. Argentinian Franco Miranda was very very bad against Nordsjälland and I hope he will be replaced with Mali international Adama Tamboura.

I do agree with Baxter when he said that the game against Nordsjälland was the worst since he took over as head coach in September. Unfortunately he has no alternatives. Even if attacker Gustaf Andersson will be fit for the game, he won’t make a difference. Luton Shelton and Henrik Larsson are so missed. With Rönningberg out, he doesn’t has alternatives for central defence too. And on the midfield, alternatives are very few. Put to this that Baxter sees Royal League only as a part of the pre-season training and that Helsingborg already are qualified for next round. I’m afraid I can’t see anything pointing for Helsingborg.

Great write up and info, rurfors, and to PL !

I'll try OB -1 at 4,00 (Bet365) with a small stake.

An excellent write-up, no doubt about it! Have been reading some about the status of OB. There is too early to tell looking at the squad but players surely do want to win the match. Both Chris Sørensen and Anders Møller Christensen are looking forward to the match with eagerness they have told on OBs website...

They have been overseas in training camp for a while. Reports beeing good and players have trained well. Some injuries is it, but Rajko Lekic is back and he is a player who will be an asset for the home team throughout the last part of the season....

Many bookies haven`t placed their odds on this one yet. I guess the odds will fall and we have to live with around 1.60-1.80 on this one... Especially after the write-ups above...

Reasoning OB are meeting up with Helsingborg in their first Royal League match in 2007.
From 2006 to 2007, OB have lost Grahn and gotten in Helveg, Troest and a new striker, who's beaten Rakic to become their main striker.

Helsingborg have lost Larsson, Shelton and Granqvist over the winter, who are three of their most profilic players.

Generally I think OB have been really strong this autumn, and even though they've lost Grahn, they still have Mads Timm who's a great replacement, who's also scored loads in the preseason.
I don't know if they will be playing Helveg or Troest, but they're both strong defenders who'll add width to the OB back line.

I do not know that much about Helsingborg, but I imagine they'll be in shambles after losing 3 of their best men.
Quote Rurfors: "Even if attacker Gustaf Andersson will be fit for the game, he won’t make a difference. I’m afraid I can’t see anything pointing for Helsingborg."

My rating of this game is 55-25-20 giving a betvalue of 115.50 % on OB-victory.

Great to have you on board Rurfors, great first post!

We're not that many Scandinavian punters, but those we have a pure quality in my eyes, seems you'll be adding to that

As I wrote earlier I'll try:

Odense -1 at 4.00 (Bet365)

Swedish teams are normally not very good this time of the year, as the start of the season is far away. Helsingborg hev a thin line up at the moment, with attackers Larsson and Shelton out aswell as defender Granqvist. Also dfender Rönningberg is injured. Helsingborg met FC Nordsjaelland in a friendly recently, and lost 0-3. I don't know much about OB atm, I have to admit, but I know thate they normally are a strong team, also the Danish season will start much sooner, so I expect OB to be ahead Helsingborg because of that too. OB win with more than one goal at 4.00 must be tried.

Thomas Helveg and Srdjan Radonjic both new signings had a great start in the club when beating Vejle. It is also worth noticing Mads Timm great burst of form, scoring two goals for OB i that match.

All over the homepage to OB there is enthusiasm and ambitions about winning this years royal league. To add Sørensen and Møller Christiansen comments, Martin Borre has stated his own and his teams ambitions. Also assistant coach Martin Hemmingsen declared that he is very pleased with the preparations for the upcoming 2nd stage of the season.

My advice is to take the bet when there still is value...
