Default Norway Tippeligaen, 31.may-2.june

31. may 2008
19:00 Brann 1.50 X 4.15 Molde 5.75

Brann took their first win against Viking in Stavanger last weekend, after tried that since 2001 season. They played a good game there and are unbeaten on their last 4 games now. Have done it almost perfect at home and has 3-1-0 so far, only Strømsgodset has managed to take points here. Brann has continued their good home form from last season and has slowly this season started to show some of the play they had last season. They have been better and better lately and should be very strong after the summer break.
Brann will miss A.Björnsson(A) with injury. G.Einarsson(M 6games 1goal) is back from suspension. T.F.Ludvigsen(M) and E.Huseklepp(M) is back after injury and might be in the squad for this game. T.Jaiteh(M 4games 1goal) and N.Demba-Nyren(A 7games 1goal) is in Africa and playing for Gambia. That might give A.Karadas(D/A 8games 1goal) a chance up front together with T.Helstad(A 8games 6goals). T.Helstad(A 8games 6goals) and E.Bakke(M 8games) got small injurys against Viking but should be ready here.

Molde lost to Rosenborg last weekend after they had been up 1-0. But a red card late in first half made it hard to keep all the points. Molde has lost the last two league games, but took a strong win in last away game against Vålerenga. They have 1-1-1 on their travels so far, and the loss came against Fredrikstad. They have played well lately and have finally started to score some goals, but some easy mistakes in the defence have cost them much.
Very important defender V.Forrem(D 8games) is suspended. Molde will miss Valter Tomaz jr (D) and M.Andreasson (D 1game) with injury.

Brann are favorites here, but might miss some players. Better to go for over here.

1. june 2008
18:00 Fredrikstad 2.35 X 3.50 Stabæk 2.70

Fredrikstad got their first loss against Strømsgodset after been unbeaten on the last 6 games before that. They played well against Strømsgodset and hit the posts two times, but in the end they lost 0-1. Fredrikstad has showed some good football this year, but have been very effective at home and against Aalesund in their last home game they scored on their three first chances. They have won all 4 home games and only conceded 2 goals in those.
E.Bråthen(GK) are injury. I.Fofana(A) are in France with Ivory-Coast-OL football team.

Stabæk are leading with 4 points on the table and are still unbeaten this season. They didn’t play to good against Aalesund on Monday, but the win was well deserved in the end. Especially Alanzinho (M games goals) played very well and scored a great goal after passed 4 AaFK players. Stabæk has 2-2-0 away and has only conceded 1 goal against Bodø/Glimt. Stabæk has a strong defence and some of the best offence players in Tippeligaen and has been the best team so far this season.
No injury problems. A.Annan(M 8games) is in Africa and playing for Ghana.

Open game on a sold out stadium. This game can go both ways, but it should be pace and a lot of chances here so over looks interesting.

18:00 Rosenborg 1.80 X 3.65 Viking 3.95
Rosenborg has finally started to win some games and the last two are both won. Beat Molde last weekend but didn’t play to well there, and had big problems with creating chances as long as Molde had 11 players on the field. Last home game was better, when Lillestrøm were sent home with a 0-4 loss. The counter attacks looked better there and they managed to score on their chances. Rosenborg has 2-0-2 at home. Their new coach Erik Hamren (ex. Aalborg, Denmark) has started his work with the team and we might see a few changes already here.
M.Jamtfall(A) and J.Savolainen(M 2games) is injured. F.Stoor(D 7games) is doing the last preparation fro EM together with Swedens squad.

Viking lost the west coast derby against Brann last weekend and their bad form continues. They have lost 3 of the 4 last games and haven’t showed very good football so far. Pretty strange since they have a better team then last year and all their important players are still around. Viking has still no draws this season and has 2-0-2 on their travels, was they have beaten Molde and Tromsø.
Viking will miss P.Ijeh (A 6games), P.Abelsson(D) and T.Myhre(GK) with injury.

Two teams that has disappointed so far, but Rosenborg has done better lately. Rosenborg on -0,25AH looks good.

18:00 Aalesund 2.10 X 3.50 Strømsgodset 3.15
Aalesund continues to lose away and got another loss against Stabæk. They had focused on their defence skills before that game and were keeping the team very compact almost the whole game. But the loss was well deserved and they didn’t create many chances there. Aalesund has now conceded 13 goals on their last 4 games. They have done it a little better at home where they have 2-0-1 so far. They lost their last home game against Lyn, were they got a red card early in the game. They are normally strong at home and its there they take most of their points.
G.Bahoken(M) and A.Brown(GK 6games) is injured. E.Holm(D 8games 1goal) is suspended.

Strømsgodset took a little lucky win against Fredrikstad last weekend. Fredrikstad were the best team, but didn’t managed to score any goals, so Strømsgodset could celebrate their third home win. Strømsgodset hasn’t any wins on their travels so far, but three of their games have ended with a draw. Their only loss away came against Viking. Strømsgodset has only one loss on their last 7 games. They haven’t played to well away, but have focused to keep the team together and go for fast counter attacks.
A.Bergdølmo(D 5games) is injured.

Think its time for a AaFK win again, and HW for me.

20:00 Lyn Oslo 2.75 X 3.30 Vålerenga 2.40
Derby game from Oslo, both teams plays on the same home ground, so no benefit for Lyn here.
Lyn has lost their last two games and has only managed to score in one of their last 4 league games. They haven’t played to well in those two last games and only a very good E.Gustafsson (GK games) has kept the scores low. Lyn has 2-1-1 at home this season and haven’t scored in their last two home games. Lyn has some very young and talented players and will be very unstable from time to time.
Lyn will miss Jimmy Tamand (D) with injury.

Vålerenga played a good game against Bodø/Glimt last weekend. There were many chances to both teams and that it ended in 0-0 is just a miracle. After a good start, Vålerenga has now taken only 1 point in their last 3 games. Vålerenga has 2-0-2 on their travels, but since these teams has the same home field, I can add that they have 1-2-1 at home. Vålerenga have played well lately, but is missing an attacker that can score some goals on a regular basis.
Vålerenga will miss M.Fellah (A) and L.I.Strand(M 5games)with injury. R.Lange (A) and J.Jalland (M) is back in training but wont play here. D.Thomassen(D 7games) is back from suspension. D.Fredheim Holm(A 8games 3goals) is doubtful.

There is an interesting H2H between these two teams. Lyn has 8-4-0 against Vålerenga on the last 12 leagues meetings. 3-3-0 when Lyn is “home” team.

Vålerenga has played best lately, but has problems with scoring goals. I might try some on Vålerenga here, but keep the stakes low in this derby game.

2. june 2008
19:00 Bodø/Glimt 2.25 X 3.50 Lillestrøm 2.85

Bodø has done great after their promotion to Tippeligaen and has 3-1-0 on their last 4 games. Not very many had expected them to be number 3 on the table after 8 rounds. Played a very good game against Vålerenga last weekend and there were many chances to both teams to score and grab all points, but they ended up with just one point each. Bodø has done well at home and has 3-1-0 so far. They have played well in those games and took a strong win against Tromsø in last home game.
J.Lædre Bjørndal(D), D.Blomgren(D), T.Martins(A 8games 4goals) and E.Iversen(D) is out with injury. S.Johansen(D 7games) is suspended. S.Theting(D 3games) is back in training and might get a chance here.

Lillestrøm disappointed again last weekend when they only got 0-0 home against Ham Kam. They played very bad there and they have great problems with creating chances and playing the way they did last season. Not good to say what they should do to get out of it, especially when they have strong squad as they do have. Lillestrøm has lost all 3 away games and conceded 10 goals in those games. Their last away game was against Rosenborg were they only lost with 4 goals and could easily have let more goals in there.
Lillestrøm will miss Marius Johnsen(D) and Markus Kiesenebner(M) for a long time with injury. Bjørn Helge Riise (M) is also out a few more weeks.
There was a meeting on Wednesday, where the players told they wanted some changes in the team, so maybe coach T.Nordlie has left before this game.

Not sure what happens in LSK before this game. Bodø has done well, but important Martins are probably out, so who will score the goals then? Have to wait closer to KO before I choose anything.

Ham Kam – Tromsø is postponed and will be played on a later date.

A few updates about Rosenborg:

Y.Kone(A 6games 3goals), D.Konan Ya(A 7games 2goals) and A.Traore(A 6games 1goal) is all away on NT. P.C.Skjeldbreid(M 8games 1goal) got a small injury against Uruguay last night and is likely to miss the game against Viking.

So backing Rosenborg might not be the most clever thing to do this weekend.

Soccer - Tippeligaen
Rosenborg - Viking
Pick: 1 Unit 1,85 @ Expekt
1 of June 18:00
Rosenborg is finally achieving the top of the table, after two good victories: 4-0 to the Lillestrom and a victory in Mold for 2-1.
Rosenborg has the chance to climb some positions on the table on this day, in case of victory.
Viking has already won for two times away, but it shouldn't have capacity to surprise the motivated formation of Rosenborg that counts in its rows with players as Kvarme, Strand, Kone and Iversen who demonstrate the potential of this team, as well as its high experience.
The victory of today is fulcral for Rosenborg start to look to the top of the table with hope, so i think that tehere's only a possible result for today, the victory of the Norwegian colossus.

Bodø/Glimt - Lillestrøm

Not much to add squad-wise according to E_S writings. What is true though is that Bodø striker Thiago Martins will not be on the field this evening. His substitute, Randall Brenes, is not of the same caliber as Martins and is quite a different player altogether. When Martins being the strong one holding defenders off with strength and resilience, Brenes is the small fast one. In total he has averaged around 5 minutes coming on as a sub when others have been fatigued. Glimts attacking style has been heavily related to Matrins fending off defenders and keeping the ball in possession until their very fast wingers arrive. So far this season the team has played very well relying on that tactic and counter-attacks. Now when Martins is out one key is missing. Today they need the mentioned wingers to perform (Olsen and Sørensen) if they would stand a chance, a notion Lillestrøm will be very aware of knowing Glimts playing style very well. Expected as one of the bottom teams this season nobody would believe the great start they have had. Now, the league has settled and I see problems heading their way. A trend which is usual considering newly promoted teams.

Lillestrøms coach Tom Nordlie resigned earlier this week after the players wishes. The squad did not appreciate his managing style, thinking they were pushed to hard. As E_S mentioned their form has been terrible and players not contributing as expected. Reports from training already shows signs of a better morale in the team, and players reacting well to the change of leadership. This one might be too early for them considering the changes, but they defintely have a squad worth fighting for the title, and today should be a great start for the ressurection from many bad performances. When playing an overachieving Glimt tonight they should without a doubt have a great chance of coming out victorious, and the value is at the visitors. One other thing worth mentionable is the probable change of formation, going from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2. This being somewhat uncertain since Lillestøm closed their last training passes from public attention.

The value is on Lillestrøm and knowing that both defences tend to play well and key striker Martins out the under 2.5 is also tested.

Lillestrøm, 2.98 @betsson 4/10
under 2.5, 2.12 @betsson 3/10
