Attracted by the statistical strength of both Viking and Lyn with particularly good odds on Viking. Can anyone shed some light on team news etc.? Cheers

Brann – Aalesund

Brann hasnt played well the latest weeks, and reach hopefully the botton when Lyn beat them 6-0 on Saturday. Was their first loss sonce Rosenborg won 3-0 against them on Lerkendal. Has gone a little better at home where they have 3-2-0 so far. Got some reactions after some players went out after the big loss, and got drunk.
H.Opdahl(GK 10games) is suspended. C.Guntveit(D 3games), T.F.Ludvigsen(A 1game) and H.Haugen(M 2games) is injuryed.
Brann last 6 games:
16.6 Lyn (A) 0-6
13.6 Øygard (A) 5-0 Cup
10.6 Lillestrøm (H) 3-1
28.5 Odd (A) 2-0
20.5 Trio (A) 5-0 Cup
16.5 Fredrikstad (H) 2-2

Aalesund continues to have problems at home. Has only 1 point on 5 homegames. Done better away with 2-1-2. Strong wins in last two away games against Tromsø and Strømsgodset. Seems like they get more points when they can play on fast counter attacks. Plays well but misses on many big chances.
P.Werni(D 0games), M.Kihlberg(M 8games 3goals), P.O.Larsen(M 0games) and Dede(A 0games) is injuryed. A.Skiri(D 10games 1goal) is doubtful. T.Fredriksen(A 10games 1goal) is suspended.
Aalesund last 6 games:
17.6 Stabæk (H) 1-4
13.6 Volda (A) 0-0 Cup
10.6 Tromsø (A) 2-0
28.5 Viking (H) 0-2
20.5 Sykkylven (A) 7-0 Cup
16.5 Strømsgodset (A) 4-0

H2H on Brann Stadion 3-2-0 9-4
H2H total 4-3-0 15-8

Last meetings on Brann Stadion:
2005-08-07 Brann - Aalesund 0 - 0
2005-06-29 Brann - Aalesund 3 - 2 (NM Cup)
2003-08-10 Brann - Aalesund 3 - 0
2002-08-08 Brann - Aalesund 1 - 1 (NM Cupen)

Brann are favorites but odds is low. I will try some on over 3.5 goals. Think both teams can score and Brann needs to do much better then last game.

Sandefjord – Fredrikstad

Sandefjord lost again against Strømsgodset. Has lost the last 5 games and the last 3 homegames is lost. Started well against Strømsgodset but missed on their chances and the game was even the last 60 minutes. Also lost to Brann and Rosenborg at home.
H.Aksnes(GK 0games), Ødegård(M 0games), M.Jensen(D 7games) and G.Crona(D 0games) are injuryed. M.Andersson(M 3games) is doubtful.
Sandefjords last 6 games:
17.6 Strømsgodset (H) 0-1
14.6 Tønsberg (A) 0-2 Cup
11.6 Start (A) 1-3
27.5 Rosenborg (H) 1-2
20.5 Sandar (A) 5-0 Cup
16.5 Vålerenga (A) 0-2

Fredrikstad in good form. 4games since last loss. Many draws away with 0-3-2 so far. Played well against Start and R.Kvisvik had 3 assist. Was lucky in the games against Rosenborg and Vålerenga and took 4 points there. Noramly not the best away team.
T.Bertelsen(D 0games) V.Martinsen(D 6games) and C.Berg(M 0games) are injuryed. A.Prytz(D 8games 1goal) went out against Start and is doubtful.
Fredrikstads last 6 games:
17.6 Start (H) 3-0
13.6 Sarpsborg (A) 4-0 Cup
10.6 Rosenborg (A) 1-1
26.5 Vålerenga (H) 1-0
19.5 Lisleby (A) 5-0 Cup
16.5 Brann (A) 2-2

H2H on Storstadion 2-0-1 5-2
H2H total 3-0-4 9-10

Last meetings on Storstadion:
2006-05-21 Sandefjord - Fredrikstad 2 - 0
2003-10-05 Sandefjord - Fredrikstad 3 – 1

Open game, think we can get some goals here. Over 2.75 goals

Stabæk – Viking

Stabæk continues to play well and haven’t lost on the last 9 league games. At home they have 3-1-1, and only loss came against Brann. H.Hauger was the first norweagian who scored for Stabæk this year, after 15 goals by foreign players. Alanzinho, Tchoyi and Nannskoog is in very good form.
M.Kjølø(D 4games) and B.Poljac(M 0games) are injuryed. T.Stenvoll(D 7games) is back from suspension. P.Furuseth Olsen(M 4games) will be sold soon. Alanzinho(M 10games 2goals) is doubtful.
Stabæks last 6 games:
17.6 Aalesund (A) 4-1
13.6 Fjøra (A) 4-0 Cup
10.6 Lyn (H) 3-2
28.5 Lillestrøm (A) 1-1
20.5 Åssiden (A) 9-1 Cup
16.5 Odd (H) 1-0

Viking in good form.Has won the last 4 games and has 2-1-2 away. Won away against week Aalesund and Strømsgodset. P.Ijeh in good form on top, has scored 7 goals on 8 games. Viking had many chances against Tromsø and should have won more. Played well against Strømsgodset and a even game against Aalesund.
H.Eiriksson(D 0games) is injuryed. H.Sigurdsson(A 9games 1goal) is back from suspension.
Vikings last 6 games:
17.6 Tromsø (H) 3-1
13.6 Randaberg (A) 6-0 Cup
9.6 Strømsgodset (A) 2-1
28.5 Aalesund (A) 2-0
20.5 Egersund (A) 6-0 Cup
16.5 Lyn (H) 4-2

H2H on Nadderud Stadion 4-3-4 15-16
H2H total 8-5-9 35-40

Last meetings on Nadderud:
2006-05-13 Stabæk - Viking 1 - 1
2004-05-31 Stabæk - Viking 0 - 1
2003-07-20 Stabæk - Viking 0 - 2
2002-09-01 Stabæk - Viking 1 - 2
2001-06-10 Stabæk - Viking 0 - 3
2000-10-22 Stabæk - Viking 1 - 1
1999-06-27 Stabæk - Viking 3 - 1
1998-09-19 Stabæk - Viking 4 - 3
1997-08-23 Stabæk - Viking 2 – 1

Viking has got points from Nadderud the last 6 games, last Stabæk win was in 1999. Open game between two good teams. Draw??

Vålerenga – Lyn

Derby game in Oslo. Both teams plays on Ullevål so no home advantage in this game.
Vålerenga finally won away after beaten Lillestrøm. Have done better at home, with 2-3-0 so far. Played well against Lillestrøm and have played very good football in most of their games. Main problem has been to score on all their chances.
T.Holm(M 2games) was back on the bench against Lillestrøm.
Vålerenga last 6 games:
17.6 Lillestrøm (A) 1-0
13.6 Mjøndalen (A) 3-2 Cup
10.6 Odd (H) 1-1
26.5 Fredrikstad (A) 0-1
20.5 Toten (A) 3-0 Cup
16.5 Sandefjord (H) 2-0

Lyn have been involved in games with many goals lately, 24 goals in their last 4 league games. Are unbeaten at home with 4-1-0. Edu is on fire on top, and is a class above all defenders. Has won more games as a “away” tema then a “home” team in these games.
T.Sokolowski(M 6games 1goal) is injuryed. T.Berntsen(D 4games) is doubtful.
Lyns last 6 games:
16.6 Brann (H) 6-0

2002-08-24 Lyn - Vålerenga 1 - 0
2002-05-11 Vålerenga - Lyn 1 - 2

Derby game, and pretty open. Last time Vålerenga beat Lyn was in 1981!

Strømsgodset – Tromsø

Strømsgodset continues to win away. Havent gone so well at home so far, only 1-2-2. Last two homegames is lost and the play havent been very well. O.Nyan with a beautiful goal against Sandefjord.
R.Deila(D 8games 2goal), T.Finstad(A 3games), D.Driscoll(D 0games), M.Andersson(A 6games 1 goal) and Ø.Leonhardsen(M 1game) are injuryed. G.Andersen(D 8games) and P.Kovacs(A 9games 4goals) is back from suspension.
Strømsgodsets last 6 games:
17.6 Sandefjord (A) 1-0

9.6 Viking (H) 1-2
25.5 Start (A) 3-2
20.5 Åskollen (A) 6-2 Cup
16.5 Aalesund (H) 0-4

Tromsø in bad form, last 3 games is lost. Was lucky to only lose 1-3 against Viking. Havent played to bad lately, but does to many mistakes in the defence. Not good away and has 1-0-4 so far. Only taken points against poor Odd away.
K.Borch(GK 0games), H.Nordnes(D 0games) and M.Pedersen(D 0games) are long time injuryed. S.Ademolu(A 6games) is injuryed. T.Hafstad(D 8games) is doubtful. P.Bernier(M 8games 2goals) is with the national team. L.I.Strand(M 9games 2goals) is back from suspension.

16.5 Lillestrøm (H) 2-1

H2H on Marienlyst Stadion 3-2-4 18-20
H2H total 5-4-9 28-36

Last meetings on Marienlyst:
2002-10-06 Strømsgodset - Tromsø 2 - 3 (1. divisjon)
2001-09-16 Strømsgodset - Tromsø 0 - 0

Could be some goals here, hard to see any winner. Over 2.75 for me.

Country: Norway
Match: Brann v Aalesund
Date: 20/6/07
Time: 19:00 cet
Reccomended Bet: Aalesund +1.25 AH @ 2.03 SBObet 2/10

This looks to be an interesting match and I’m wondering how Brann will respond to getting hammered 0-6. In the past I have known teams to come back straight away and win, but this was a severe body blow for the Bergen club. I saw the match against Lyn and they were quite simply awful. They just couldn’t get into the game and it was already 3-0 before they were reduced to 10 men. The heavy nature of the loss did surprise me but there’s no doubt that a defeat was coming their way. Brann just haven’t impressed me recently and they have produced some poor performance despite getting points. This game against Aalesund is one in which they are expected to win easily but the pressure might be a little bit too much for them to handle. Aalseund continue to be a bit unlucky IMO and the 1-4 loss at home to Stabaek was flattering on the visitors. In all reality Aalesund actually had plenty of chances in that game and were only undone by some excellent Stabaek attacks. Away from home they have produced some good displays and got themselves a nice amount of points in recent weeks. Brann could absolutely hammer them here but I just don’t see it happening. Bookies have the hosts absurdly short and a bet on +1.25 Aalesund is worth a punt IMO. Only 2/10 stakes, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Brann’s misery continue.

Country: Norway
Match: Stromsgodset v Tromso
Date: 20/6/07
Time: 19:00 cet
Reccomended Bet: Stromsgodset (0) AH @ 1.75 SBObet 3/10

Stromsgodset have been much more comfortable away from home in recent weeks rather than at home. They have lost consecutive matches here against Aalesund and Viking respectively and they will want to hit back against Tromso. Their last match at the weekend ended in a victory for them away to Sandefjord, but in all reality it could’ve gone either way. Still it was a decent performances and they created some good chances, scoring an excellent goal. Confidence will be high and I expect them to start getting some good home results soon. I think they have a great chance to get all 3 here against Tromso who are in the middle of a bit of a rut right now. They started the season well but have now lost 3 consecutive matches and the pressure is back on the northern club. They were simply awful in Viking at the weekend and were defeated 3-1 despite taking the lead. Truth be told they were absolutely battered and 10-1 wouldn’t have been flattering on Viking really. They must improve here otherwise they will suffer another defeat for sure. Its possible that might happen but I definitely favour Stromsgodset @ very good odds. We can get 1.75 on the level ball AH which is indeed very generous. I don’t think Godset will draw this at very worst, so am willing to stake 3/10 on the outcome.

Country: Norway
Match: Stabaek v Viking
Date: 20/6/07
Time: 19:00 cet
Reccomended Bet: Stabaek -0.25 AH @ 1.92 Pinnacle 3/10

Stabaek host Viking and this will be a very interesting game between two teams that are in good form. Stabaek are unbeaten in 9 matches and are probably playing the best football of anyone at the moment in Tippeligaen. They hammered Aalesund 4-1 at the weekend although this was definitely a flattering result IMO and had their opponents taken their chances then it would’ve been a different story. What did show though was the real class of Stabaek’s attack force. They are so fast that its incredible! and they have excellent firepower. Flair isn’t a problem either and I always feel they are capable of producing something special. Everything seems to be going right for them at the moment and it would be very dangerous to take them on. Viking also are in good form and have won 4 consecutive matches, although not as convincing as Stabaek have been. However, for the 1st time this season Viking really impressed me as they thumped Tromso 3-1 at the weekend. In all reality they could have won 10-1 such was the amount of chances they created. But at home Viking are always strong and not so good away. They have to improve their away performance if they are to get points in Stabaek. Viking also rely on striker Peter Ijeh a lot, and he is perhaps due a bad game. If he doesn’t play well I cant see them being too much of an attacking force. I think this will end in a home win and odds of 1.92 on the -0.25 AH are pretty decent. I dare only stake 3/10 though because Viking are in good form and confidence high, I will give them some respect at least.

Country: Norway
Match: Sandefjord v Fredrikstad
Date: 20/6/07
Time: 19:00 cet
Reccomended Bet: Sandefjord -0.25 AH @ 2.17 Canbet 2/10

Sandefjord play host to Fredrikstad and they simply must end their run of 5 consecutive defeats here. However, as far as bad runs go, I think they have been very unlucky in many of their games. The only match in which they were easily outplayed was away in Start where they lost 3-1, in all of the other fixtures they deserved to get some points out of at least. At the weekend they created chances but missed them against Stromsgodset. It was an even game but they lost it 0-1 thanks to a superb goal. I still believe Sandefjord can hit back soon and get at least a draw against Fredrikstad. The visitors did well to hammer Start 3-0 at the weekend, but before they took the lead they might easily have conceded on a few occasions. Eventually it was an easy win but I’m not convinced they can get the job done away from home, where they are still winless this campaign. Confidence will be high and they have already got draws in RBK and Brann. However they were lucky to obtain these and could struggle today I think. I’ll happily take on Fredrikstad on the road and Sandefjord -0.25 @ 2.17 is pretty good odds IMO. I’ll only dare stake 2/10 but I’m convinced that this losing run will end soon. It simply must do if they keep playing as they have been. Chances will be created, its just a question of taking them this time.

Country: Norway
Match: Valerenga v Lyn
Date: 20/6/07
Time: 21:25 cet
Reccomended Bet: Valerenga (0) AH @ 1.84 Pinnacle 2/10

This is a big Oslo derby match between rivals Valerenga and Lyn. I possibly shouldn’t be betting in this game but I cant help but feel Valerenga are ready to end their nightmare winless streak against Lyn here. Lets just forget that they haven’t actually beaten them since 1981! and consider current form. I have to say I have really noticed a dramatic improvement in Valerenga’s recent displays and they definitely should’ve picked up more wins. A defeat in Fredrikstad was unjust and then they somehow failed to finish off Odd Grenland in their last home encounter. But this was followed up with a superb 1-0 away success in LSK, a really impressive performance in my eyes. This team is really on a high now and they come into this derby in the best of confidence, ready to defeat their deadly rivals.

Lyn also come into the game in great form though as they thumped Brann 6-0 at the weekend. This was an awesome display by them but I’m not convinced they can maintain much consistency this season. They have yet to win 2 consecutive matches and the longest unbeaten run they have managed is just 2 games on the trot. They have a good mental edge going into the game hence the incredible history that this fixture has, but id still rather be on Valerenga. This game is played at the Ulleval stadium, both teams play here normally so not a real home advantage. Valerenga have more fans though so it will be an advantage in some ways. Bookies have the game priced up wrong here I think and I’ll happily take the 1.84 level ball. I’m still convinced that Valerenga are the better side and that Lyn blow far too hot and cold. I wont stake highly but I think they can end this winless streak that stretches back an awful long time now.

Stromgodset 0-0 HT...I've got the O 2.5/3 here, and it's going to screw up what would have been a great day if they can't make something happen in the 2nd half...I think I have misread this team all season, I like it much better when they were demolishing teams in 1st Divisjon.

Complete level day for me in Norway, Stabaek win was nice whilst the Aalesund late goal managed to win me half. Stromsgodset again fcuk me up and again fail to win at home - Valerenga still cant beat Lyn but get a 0-0 draw. Interesting night of football it seems

Rosenborg – Lillestrøm

Rosenborg plays well but havent managed to score on all their chances. Normally very good at home, and has 3-1-1 at home. Only a very lucky win to Strømsgodset and Fredrikstad that grabbed a lucky point has taken points at Lerkendal.
No injurys before the Odd game.
Rosenborgs last 6 games:
18.6 Odd (A)
14.6 KIL/Hemne (A) 2-2 Cup
10.6 Fredrikstad (H) 1-1
27.5 Sandefjord (A) 2-1
20.5 Namsos (A) 5-1 Cup
16.5 Start (H) 4-1

Lillestrøm in bad form, has only 1 point on their last 4 games. Lost their first home game against Vålerenga on Sunday. Havent gone to well away with only 2-1-2. Played well in first half against Brann, but lost after a bad 2.half. Was close to take points in the defeat against Tromsø too.
B.Arnasson(M 0games) is injuryed. F.Kippe(D 7games) and O.Occean(A 9games 5goals) is back from suspension. K.Mouelhi(M 8games) is suspended.
Lillestrøm last 6 games:
17.6 Vålerenga (H) 0-1
13.6 Orkla (A) 5-0 Cup
10.6 Brann (A) 1-3
28.5 Stabæk (H) 1-1
20.5 Flisa (A) 6-3 Cup
16.5 Tromsø (A) 1-2

H2H on Lerkendal Stadion 20-9-4 73-31
H2H total 30-18-18 120-79

Last meetings on Lerkendal:
2006-07-30 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 3 - 1
2005-08-07 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 1 - 2
2004-08-08 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 4 - 1
2003-05-28 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 1 - 1
2002-08-04 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 3 - 1
2001-06-16 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 2 - 2
2000-07-30 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 2 - 1
1999-07-11 Rosenborg - Lillestrøm 4 - 0

Rosenborg are favourites, but I drop this game.

Start – Odd

Start has lost 3 of 4 last games. Make many mistakes in defence and has conceeded 11 goals in last 4 games. Has 2-2-1 at home, only Strømsgodset has won in Kristiansand, a very lucky win.
F.Strømstad(M, 6games), A.R.Håland(D 9games) and A.Valencia(A 6games 1goal) is back from injury. Only J.Mathisen(A 0games) is injuryed.
Starts last 6 games:
17.6 Fredrikstad (A) 0-3
14.6 Vard (A) 5-0 Cup
11.6 Sandefjord (H) 3-1
25.5 Strømsgodset (H) 2-3
20.5 Vindbjart (A) 6-2 Cup
16.5 Rosenborg (A) 1-4

Odd in terribel form. Only 4 points on their first 9 games. Took their first away point in last game against Vålerenga, a very lucky point. Has 0-1-4 away. Never won away against Start.
C.Joyce(A 1game) are injuryed. E.Ruud(M 8games 1goal) is back from suspension. J.Sørensen(M 9games) is doubtful.
Odds last 6 games:
18.6 Rosenborg (H)

28.5 Brann (H) 0-2
20.5 Svarstad (A) 5-0 Cup
16.5 Stabæk (A) 0-1

H2H on Sør Arena 5-2-0 14-3
H2H total 8-2-6 21-21

Last meetings in Kristiansand:
2006-11-05 Start - Odd 2 - 1
2005-05-08 Start - Odd 4 - 0
2002-08-04 Start - Odd 2 - 0
2000-09-10 Start - Odd 1 - 0
1998-04-19 Start - Odd 0 - 0 (1. divisjon)
1997-07-13 Start - Odd 1 – 1

Start are favorites and should win here.

Country: Norway
Match: Start v Odd Grenland
Date: 21/6/07
Time: 18:30 cet
Reccomended Bet: Start -0.75 AH @ 1.90 Betway 5/10

Start play host to Odd here and I fully expect them to see off the visitors with ease. Start are a funny team who can blow severely hot and cold, but normally can be relied upon at home. Only Stromsgodset have managed to defeat them on their own turf this year and that was a very fortunate success. In general Start have played well and they were pretty convincing as they dispatched Sandefjord here 3-1 a couple of weeks ago. Against most teams they shouldn’t be backed on a -0.75 AH but today they are definitely worth a punt against Odd Grenland. I have seen Odd live in their last 2 games and I have to say they are a complete an utter shambles. This is a side that has managed to obtain just 4 points all season and they have been playing some awful football recently. They need to drastically improve but I cant see that happening very quickly. Until they actually show that they have more capabilities then we simply must continue to take them on. Start @ 1.90 on that -0.75 line looks nice and generous IMO and is worth a good 5/10 stakes. I am quite confident that the hosts will get the job done here.

Country: Norway
Match: Rosenborg BK v Lillestrom SK
Date: 21/6/07
Time: 20:30 cet
Reccomended Bet: Rosenborg BK straight win @ 2.10 Betchance 3/10

Two teams in different form meet at the Lerkendal stadium here as RBK play host to LSK. Its going to be an interesting match and one in which I favour RBK to win. They have been in good nick recently and won 3 of their last 4 matches, the only slip up was a 1-1 home draw against Fredrikstad, although they should have obtained all 3 points in that game also. I watched the whole of their 90 minutes against Odd on Monday night and they were pretty impressive in the 2nd half. They dominated proceedings to come from 0-1 down to win 2-1. This is a team that now knows it must continue a wining run if they are to keep in touch with those at the top of the table. LSK arrive here having lost 3 of their last 4 and didn’t play very well against Valerenga last week. In a key derby battle they lost 0-1 and looked very toothless upfront. They definitely missed key man Olivier Occean but he returns from suspension here which will be a boost. LSK need to be positive in this match and try and exploit a potentially weak RBK defence. But I don’t think the visitors will do much and I see Rosenborg winning, possibly quite easily. They are a quality team at the end of the day and if they play well then it should be comfortable. RBK always have goals in them and although the defence might well concede again, they have the ability to outscore their way to victory if necessary.

I'll try your picks today
they seem to be quite good as from you've written
but how are you estimating probability of draws?
I would prefer no draws ;p hehe

Agree on the Start pick. They should win vs poor Odd. Rosenborg look good but Lillestrom are good as well. Maybe a "Rosenborg Win By One" bet could be nice.

I'll be on Start and skip the other match.

I have Start in a parlay, so I need them to win. I chose them to win instead of the over 2.5, because I am a ****ing idiot! Well anyway, they have the ability to come back...1-2 HT...excuse me for a moment...

CMON YOU BASTARDS SCORE SOME BLOODY GOALS!!!!

Thanks mates. Feels better anyway.

I don't know where you're getting this...I expected Start to win too, but we're talking about a 14th-place team beating an 11th-place team that is giving up goals by the bushelfull...

yeh but I've seen Odd recently and they have been truly awful - complete and utter shyte mate. This is why I'm so stunned that they would actually manage to win

seen the hightlights now and both Odd goals were 25 yarders - candidates for goal of the month, the 1st maybe even a candidate for goal of the season - what can you do about that eh
