Default Re: Norway - Tippeligaen (14-16 April 07)

Fredrikstad - Lyn
This will be the first game Fredrikstad plays on their new homeground Fredrikstad Stadion. Hometeam played terribel in first game, didnt created many chances against Lillestrøm, and continues their bad awayrecord from last season. Normally better at home, miss important Kvisvik, he missed the first game. Also defender Piroja will miss this game.
Lyn played well against Sandefjord in first game. Won 3-0 and also missed a penalty. But Sandefjord had deserved a goal, but missed on all chances. Edu went out with injury on sunday and can miss this game.

H2H at Fredrikstads old stadium: 9 3 6 36-30
Latest results on Fredrikstad Stadium:
2006-07-02 Fredrikstad - Lyn 1 - 2
2005-07-24 Fredrikstad - Lyn 2 - 1
2004-06-06 Fredrikstad - Lyn 2 - 4
1981-09-13 Fredrikstad - Lyn 3 - 2

Think Fredrikstad will do everything they can to take points in their first game at this stadium. Would have tryed some on 1X if Kvisvik and Piroja would have played, but with these two out, its a no bet for me.

Odd - Lillestrøm
This will be the first game for Odd on their new stadium, Skagerrak Stadion. Odd lost their first game, and that was the first time since 1998 that they lost in round 1 in the season. Scored the first goal against Strømsgodset, on a big mistake by the goalkeeper in Strømsgodset. De Ornelas scored in his 4 straight game. Didnt creat much against Strømsgodset and deserved the lost against a better team. Svindal Larsen missed the first game and are doubtful against Lillstrøm.
Lillestrøm won 3-0 against Fredrikstad, a well deserved win. Was the best team and could easily won with more goals. Attacker Occean missed 3 big chances in first half, but finally got his goal in 2.half. Brenne was suspended in first round but are back here.

H2H on Odd Stadion: 7 1 4 30-18
Latest results on Odd Stadium:
2006-10-29 Odd - Lillestrøm 0 - 3
2005-05-05 Odd - Lillestrøm 0 - 2
2004-05-20 Odd - Lillestrøm 3 - 2
2003-06-29 Odd - Lillestrøm 5 - 0
2002-06-22 Odd - Lillestrøm 3 - 1
2001-05-02 Odd - Lillestrøm 4 - 1
2000-04-30 Odd - Lillestrøm 2 - 1

Odd normally strong at home, but might feel a little extra nervous before their first game at this stadium. Lillestrøm is a better team and should be favorites, but Odd could get a point. DNB on Lillestrøm or -0,25AH could be good choices.

Rosenborg – Tromsø
Rosenborg got only 1 point against Viking. If you look at the hole game that was ok. Rosenborg started best, but Viking came in to the game with a good shoot by start attacker Ijeh. Rosenborg started with 8 foreign players against Viking, and that, as far as I know is new record in Norway. Defenders Lago and Riseth went out with injury against Viking and will miss this game. Also defender Basma is doubtfull before this game.
Tromsø won against Vålerenga at home. New Sequeira from Costa Rica scored the goal in his debut. The game was pretty even, with Vålerenga had the ball most, without creating the big chances. Tromsø hopes that start attacker Rushfeldt is ready for this game, will be descided after tomorrows training.

H2H at Lerkendal: 12 7 2 42-17
Latest results on Lerkendal:
2006-09-28 Rosenborg - Tromsø 2 - 1
2005-10-29 Rosenborg - Tromsø 1 - 1
2004-08-21 Rosenborg - Tromsø 3 - 0
2003-11-01 Rosenborg - Tromsø 0 - 1
2001-05-06 Rosenborg - Tromsø 3 - 0
2000-05-16 Rosenborg - Tromsø 1 - 1
1999-04-23 Rosenborg - Tromsø 2 - 2
1998-10-25 Rosenborg - Tromsø 1 - 1

Tromsø with a terribel awayrecord againt Rosenborg, but has done it pretty good the last years. Rosenborg with some missings in defence.Think if could be pretty even here, maybe Tromsø +1AH, but I will stay away.

Sandefjord – Aalesund
Sandefjord lost 0-3 against Lyn, but had deserved to score a goal. Sandefjord had a good season in 2006, but this year it could be harder. Has to take points home, and against Aalesund they need 3 points. Sandefjord played well at home last year, lost only 4 games and need to continue to play well.
Aalesund had a strange game against Start. Played well and was leading 2-1, when Bahoken got his second yellow card (suspended against Sandefjord) and lost 2-4. Made some tactical mistakes against Start, and wants to take revenge at Sandefjord.

H2H at Storstadion: 1 3 0 6-4

Important game for both teams, but Sandefjord needs points in games like this. -0,25AH or straight Sandefjord win.

Vålerenga – Stabæk
No injury problems for Vålerenga, that’s has all players available against Stabæk. Lost the first game, but deserved at least one point. Vålerenga has a good defence and conceded only 8 goals in last season at home. Need to continue that against Stabæk that has the two most dangerous attackers in Tippeligaen in Gunnarsson and Nannskog. (scored 37 goals last season)
Stabæk also lost their first game against Brann. Was a even game, and Stabæk should have got a penalty when the ball hit a Brann defender in his hand. Stabæk was forced to play a lot of long balls against Brann, but didn’t managed to created many chances on that. Captian and defender Olsen will miss this game for Stabæk.
Every club in Tippeligaen knows that if you managed to stop Gunnarrson and Nannskog, Stabæk is in trouble. Last season they got a lot of space but it will be different this season.

H2H at Ullevål: 3 3 3 15-13
Latest results on Ullevål:
2006-10-22 Vålerenga - Stabæk 3 - 1
2004-10-30 Vålerenga - Stabæk 3 - 0
2003-09-27 Vålerenga - Stabæk 2 - 2
2002-07-21 Vålerenga - Stabæk 0 - 2
2000-05-07 Vålerenga - Stabæk 0 - 0

Important game for both teams, Vålerenga should take points here if they want to fight in the top.

Start – Viking
A derby game on the southwest of Norway. This will the first game on Starts new stadium. Start was a little lucky against Aalesund and won 4-2. Youngster Børufsen and Morten Hæstad scored in the victory. Played 11 against 10 the last 20 minutes against Aalesund and scored 3 goals in that period. Valencia will miss this game.
Viking managed to take 1 point against Rosenborg. Played a good game, and attacker Ijeh was a constant threat on top for Viking. No new injurys, but still Gaarde and Danielsen is out.

H2H: 10 8 10 48-44
Latest results on Starts stadium:
2006-08-13 Start - Viking 3 - 1
2005-05-01 Start - Viking 5 - 2
2002-05-05 Start - Viking 1 - 1
2000-08-20 Start - Viking 4 - 4
1996-09-04 Start - Viking 0 - 3

A pretty even game is expected, and Start wants revenge after they lost 1-7 in a training match against Viking. A lots of goals when these two meet, so over 2.5 for me.

Brann – Strømsgodset
Brann was happy with 3 points against Stabæk, but not with the way they had played. Need to play better offence if they will continue to win. A fast counter attack gave they the goal with Helstad. Brann played well home last season, and need to continue that. No new injurys, and Vaagan Moen is back in the squad.
Strømsgodset started well win a victory against Odd. This will be the first hard test for them this season, playing away against one of the best teams. Both their attackers Andersson and Kovacs scored against Odd.

H2H on Brann Stadion: 12 5 1 46-19
Latest results on Brann Stadion:
2003-06-26 Brann - Strømsgodset 4 - 3 Cupgame
2001-08-05 Brann - Strømsgodset 6 - 2
1999-08-15 Brann - Strømsgodset 2 - 2
1998-05-10 Brann - Strømsgodset 0 - 1
1997-07-13 Brann - Strømsgodset 4 - 1

A few years since last they meet. Brann are favorites on monday, and i go for -1AH.

Good luck!

Looking at the last games between Brann and Strömsgodset, 6-2 and 2-6 it makes me think at over 2.5
what do you think mates?

The last time they played each other was 2001, the last time they were both in the Tippeligaen. Stromgodset last year was in the 1st Divisjon, which they ran away with, but this year will be much harder for them. Brann has been a high scoring/high conceding team of late, but the question in Stromgodset's early games will be how will they respond to the higher level of competition? To compete in the Tip they may have to change their tactics, become more tentative.

Brann was the second-place team in 2006, with a 9-2-2 home record.

Don't know whether you watched the game but Start missed a penalty in the first minutes. Unlucky for Start backers. The draw at FT was still a deserved result. In the 2nd half, Viking was the much better team.

Brann plays a more controlled system this season (it's early to say this but just my first views). Strömsgodset has a good keeper and they play the matches more in midfield.
The over looks not bad, but i don't advice it. Brann to win could be better.

no I was out so missed it

shame about the miss

but when you fall behind in the 74th minute, I'll always accept a draw and push

I might go for Brann -1 tommorow, not decided yet

It's so difficult to predict the Tippe Ligaen this year, many teams are very close like Brann 1-1 Godset at the minute.

I'm going to back Molde and teams like Start, RBK who are usually solid.

Well then, they should own that league by July.
