Viking - Rosenborg

When looking at the table the predicted title contenders Viking is again in a must-win situation. The unstabillity in the league has lately proven to be true though seeing some very odd results imo. Still, Viking has not lost in their last 4 matches, add the fact that the last 3 have been draws. To add another one, all have been against 3 of the top 4 teams. The fact is that they now have 8 points up to the 3rd spot and when the season slowly is heading to the end, some results are heavily required. Reports from the stadium is that coach Uwe Rösler closed their last two work-outs from the media, knowing the pressure is high and the focus to perform is even higher. Squad-wise they have all key players ready for todays clash. They will be without striker Velicka though, as he has been recently sold to Rangers. Their opponents Rosenborg have some struggles comparing squads. 1st goalie and national player Rune Jarstein is injured, which means that back-up Alexander Lund Hansen will get his 1st start of the season. Also wing-back Traore is injured. Striker Youssof Kone has been sold to CFR Cluj, a major setback in this part of the campaign since he actually was their best forward recently. The probable sub for him is highly criticized John Pelu, which was suspended because of filming in their last H2H. A game who was the last one for him before getting injured, being back now, there is expected heavy pressure from the Viking fans on him today. Also knowing that Rosenborg has had a tough schedule lately coming back from Holland after a 1-0 loss against NAC Breda in the CL qual. A game where key striker Steffen Iversen did not play after sensing a pulled muscle. He is reported to play tonight, but knowing his injury proneness there is questionmarks. Their form away is 1-2-3, playing well under the expected level of their skills. Their last 2 visits in the league ended with draws and loss against far weaker teams than Viking, Bodø/Glimt and Ham Kam.

Viking must win this one, and I feel the value is good when they a heavy underachieving Rosenborg atm.

Viking, -0/0.5, 1.99 @sbobet 5/10

I was thinking to bet on Fredrikstad and i found these info
Brann sold topscorer Helstad to LeMans,they substitute im with Ighalho from Lyn but he won't play tonight.
Here http://fotball.aftenposten.no/elites...icle113881.ece
i tried to make translation,if i'm not wrong it says Piroia,Wehrman and Gerrbrand are doubtful,also Gashi is not 100% fit.
Any opinions about the game?
Brann will play on Tuesday at home for CL qualification match.....

Fredrikstad v Brann

As i stated in my post in norway cup topic, Frederikstad will definetly be aiming for a win today, they have a perfect chance to use the advantage of Brann's midweek embarasing defeat in the cup. Frederikstad has already proven to have quality squad to compete for the highest ranks in the league; currently they are situated at second place, having 3-1-2 score in their last 6 games, all of which they only lost agaist Stabaek, the only team that is actually ranked higher than them, therefore being first. Frederikstad's home advantage has proven to be deadly for opposing teams, as with their 6-0-1 home record, which is curentlly best in the league aswell. They have lost their last game almost miserably 5-1 against stabek, altough traditionaly they havent looked for points in away games, but contrary to that they used home advantage, and during the past years they easily managed to beat top teams at their stadium. Brann on the other hand has fallen into a mini-crisis situation if you can call it that, having horribly lost against molde by 8-0 in the cup. One could think that certain teams that are aiming for championship, not the cup, arent even interested in it, so therefore they usually lose to get rid of the annoying midweek games and possible injuries, that only weaken the teams physical strenght and stamina. But to be fairly honest if you want to lose you won't go down with 8-0, even with the fact that Molde is on a hot-streak, having won last few games. Something was obviously wrong in Brann's team and coordination, the defeat has surelly left their morale hanging, and I really doubt that the players have fully recovered for today's game. In these kind of situations it is critical and crucial for the team to keep a steady mind and get over it as soon as possible, preferably to search a win in next game to compensate for the loss, it boosts both the players and the fans. On top of that if i understood corectly, the team's top striker,(and the league's aswell) Helstad, has left to LeMans. With him out of the team it will surely be an even more devastating situation. When he played before the injury the team actually was "playing", they were wining and making sure that they keep rising up the table.

Frederikstad has an almost "unfair advantage" when playing home, and they are surelly recovered from last week, hungering for a new win agaist their weakend opponent. Clever teams will always use these kind of situations, and I'm sure that Frederikstad will find weakness in their team and hopefully take an easy win. Brann definetly has smaller chances, if noone to be exact in this match, altough they should be looking for a win as i stated to compensate for the previous losses. But this isnt the time nor the game to search for it, as their opponent is most merciless in their home games. On top of that, Frederikstad has an opportuninty for a revenge, since they lost against Brann by 4-2 this season at Bergen. The odds are droping in most of the markets, as they have even since 2 days ago.

What about the FFK players doubtful?
If Wehrman or Piiroia or Gashi will miss the match,it wouldn't be good for homeside.
Do you have any fresh news about them?

Well from what i can see all 3 of them are standard players, Gerrbrand (D)-11 played, Piiroja (D)-14 played, Wehrman (M)-14 played, Gashi(M)-13 played, 3 goals. They are all just doubtfull/not 100% fit for the game, which doesent mean that they wont play tbh. They might warm the bench, but they will probably be able to get in if their coach requires. Wehrman and Gashi are standard midfield players that create the chances, so you can say that they are in some ways crucial for the team, which means they will have to get over their pains& such, as all good players do, and get ready for today's game. Personally i dont think this will cause any major problems like scoring difficulties or game creativity, as i said they might not be fit but that doesent mean they wont play.

Well,Piiroja Wehrmann and Gashi i guess can considered key-players.
Gashi aboveall,being a former Brann player sould be extra motived today to show his skills;so far he's had a great season.
Of course,they are doubtfull and might play,everybody agree about HW,i only think the absence of some of them,could affect homeside.
Before to bet,i think i'll wait for official lineups,only to decide about the stakes
Thanks for sharing your opinions.....

Early toughs for tomorow; mostly interested in Strømsgodset - Molde match, pretty confident that molde will continue thier hot streak, but still need some research, will write up tomorow probably.

Cheers

Strømsgodset v Molde

As I noted earlier yesterday, I’m really interested in taking Molde today. Their play has been simply magnificent in recent 2 games, having won Valerenga 5-1 last week and trashing Brann by 8-0 earlier this week in the cup. Throughout the season they have been playing quite good, wining a few games here and there, and having some troubles in keeping points when playing with tougher teams. They seem to have found coordination and creativity in their gameplay recently, which results show for themselves, as they have a 3-2-1 record in last 6 games (cup not included). They are taking most of their chances and realizing them, which they lacked earlier in the season, although their games tended to end with lots of goals. With that and as the season is nearing to its end, they will surely be interested in getting more points, so they can fight for 3rd or 4th place perhaps, since there is only a 3 point difference between 5th placed Rosenborg and 10th placed Viking. Strømsgodset on the other hand are on a 3-0 cold streak, having lost to Tromso, Lyn and Valerenga. They seem to search for victories at home games, and hoping to leave unbeaten when playing away, although that hasn’t been the case in recent games. They have played quite good throughout the season, atleast better than lower ranked teams. Apart from that they are really struggling to get even minimum points; they somewhat lack creativity and that’s what’s causing them to have bad results.

Strømsgodset will try to keep a clean sheet today, that is to say they will be probably playing defensively, trying to get a few chances from rebounds perhaps. On the other hand Molde will be trying to keep a wining streak; boosted with their recent awesome- firepower-packed victories they will certainly be looking for 3 points today, as playing smart they can go up the table and fight for top spots. As far as I can personally see, there aren’t much important missings/ injuries in Molde’s team; this should be a probable line-up for today’s clash:
-------------- Larsen ---------------

Vatshaug - Gjerde - Forren - Rindarøy

---- Holm (Koskela) - Hestad -------

P.P.Diouf -------Hoseth ---- -M.B.Diouf

-------------- Mota ----------------

Apart from that, there is a huge value on Molde if you can find a price higher than 2.9, it was around 3.2(average price) in most of the markets during last week, but as the weekend was nearing it went down to around 2.89 average today.

Molde, 3@ Coral 3/10

Soccer Re: Norway, Tippeliga, 23-28th of July.

My picks for today in Norway:

Bodo-Lyn
Bodo has 3 losses and 2 draws in their last 5 games so their recent form is not very good.
Lyn is having a good season (currently 4th in the table 5 points behind leaders Fredrikstad) and have a 3-2-0 record in their last 5.
My pick: away PK (2.01);

Ham Kam-Lillestrom
Ham Kam is currently in last place with a 2-2-1 home record and Lillestrom is only one place above them with a horrible 0-0-6 away record.
If Ham Kam can't win this one which game will they win?
My pick: home PK (2.09);

Stromsgodset-Molde
Not much of a difference between these two teams in the table with Molde only 2 places and 2 points above the hosts.
Recent form is horrible for the hosts as they're 1-1-4 in their last 6 games while Molde is 3-2-1 which IMO gives them some advantage psychologically speaking.
My pick: away PK (2.18);

Aalesund-Viking
Two teams having a poor season and placed in the bottom half of the table.
Aalesund has a 3-1-2 home record (14:11 in goals).
Viking has only 1 win and 3 draws in their last 4 games and have a 2-2-3 away record (7:10 in goals).
I see good value in the home PK bet.
My pick: home PK (2.26);

Good luck!
