2007-11-03 Zagreb - Varteks (+1 AH)

Zagreb still playing with different moods, first winning at home and then losing away at Slaven with ease, 0:2 result. While Lovrek played in their last home game(4:1 vs Sibenik) he didn't participate in last match against Slaven and it's obvious that he's important part of the team. Lovrek scored 9 goals this season and is club's best forward. Latest reports say he is still injured and is highly probable that he won't participate in match against Varteks. Besides Lovrek, Zagreb has all players at full disposal. Varteks finally started to collect points, winning last three and are coming to Zagreb in a good mood. Coach Besek is doing some good work lately and I must admit I like their responsible gameplay they showed against Osijek away and Medjimurje at home. One part of responsibility lies in Andrija Balajic, expirienced defender who came just few weeks ago to the club and is obvious Varteks' defence functions much better with than without him. Varteks has no important missings for this game and coach Besek announced they'll search for a positive result on Kranjceviceva stadium. With their recent play I think they can snap a point from unstable Zagreb, especially if Lovrek won't play. Therefore I think +1 AH on Varteks is worth a try with medium stakes.

Anyway, I don't like this round at all.

Cibalia - Dinamo: guests should win, but have in mind very good form of the hosts(Rijeka 2:0, Hajduk 2:2 in Split). Also, Dinamo has important UEFA Cup match against Basel next thursday.

Medjimurje - Rijeka: I would say away win but with small stakes. Both teams need points, Medjimurje for survival, Rijeka for UEFA Cup spot.

Inter - Zadar: I really don't know what to think about this one

Slaven - Sibenik: should be a home win. If you're going to take it, take it with medium stakes only. Odds are small IMO and though Koprivnica stadium is like a small fortress, team of Sibenik shouldn't be underestimated here.

Osijek - Hajduk: Hajduk welcomes best striker of the league Kalinic but will be without midfielders Andric, Damjanovic, Linic and defender Zivkovic, all important players. On the other side, Osijek welcomes back their captain, defender Babic. They played good game against Rijeka and if they were more precise, they could have taken all three points from that game. Hajduk with weakened midfield playing on a traditionally tough stadium for them. Home-draw on the hosts would be my call here but with small stakes.

Zagreb - Varteks 0:0 FT Varteks did what they came for - positive reuslt. Apparently they were better side on the field. Untill next round, cheers.
