| Schedule dates European & Worldwide Competition (VI) Schedule Participants All those that were either invited or managed to qualify for the group stages of the main competition. All those who were eliminated in both the preliminary and final qualifying rounds Those who put their name down in an additional entrants thread Points system Each cup tie, every tipster will have 3 picks (listed from the markets below) on any European, Worldwide or international match with the exception of UK leagues (Republic of Ireland allowed) Each tipster must research the odds from the bookmaker that sponsors the competition (betfair) www.betfair.com. At the end of each match day, each tipster will have obtained a total tally of points. The number of points they will obtain would depend on how successful their selections are, and what odds they were at. For this competition, selections at odds of less than 1.50 will not be acceptable. For winning selections at odds 1.50 - 1.99 then 1 point would be obtained For winning selections at odds 2.0 - 2.74 then 2 points would be obtained For winning selections at odds of 2.75 or greater than 3 points would be obtained So each cup tie, the maximum number of points capable of being obtained would be 9, as there are 3 selections for each punter. Basically whoever gains the most points will win the tie. If both players end level, then a replay will be played, and if that was also to end level then a tiebreak would determine the winner. For the semi finals and final, each match will be 2 legged. Deadline and failure to post Exactly the same as in the main competition, see this thread Information about Posting Selections Failure to post before the deadline in the cup competition would just mean an automatic victory for your opponent, who would progress to the next round. If both tipsters in a match fail to post before the deadline, then it means there will be an extra space for someone in the next round. This place will always go to the highest scoring loser of the round. So even if you lose you cup game, you might still have a chance of qualifying due to others not posting. Winner, Prize money and invitation The winner will receive £30 and the Runner up £15, this is an increase on last season. The winner will also receive an automatic invitation into the 'main competition' for the following season. If the winner already has earned an invitation due to finishing in the top 16 of the main competition, then the invitation will pass onto the highest ranked finisher in the Cup who has not yet received an invitation. It is possible that a play off match would be needed to determine this position, for example between 2 losing semi finalists. |
