European & WW Competition (IV)

Cloud was the current champion but he rejected his invitation into the group stages. As a result, this became the first time that there was nobody to defend their crown in competition history. The group stages were of the highest standard with some incredible scoring. Record numbers of people showed up and there were few games where anyone missed deadlines. For the first time ever, somebody managed to score the magical 9 points in a match. It amazingly happened 2 weeks running and one man achieved it - Fazz. He failed to qualify from the group, but he will go down in history as being the first (and currently the only man) to have hit that magical total. Myself and Fazz were also involved in the highest ever scoring game, with him winning 9-7.

After the last 16 round, scoring went surprisingly a bit lower than expected with some nervous performances. The man that pulled through to win was Christo85efc who was solid throughout the competition. His next task will be to become the first ever man to defend his title in this competition. Tomerc went on a fine run all the way from qualifying to finish as runner up, whilst Ads25 achieved his best performance to date by making the semi finals. 888 was the other man who fell at this stage. The standard keeps going up, and arguably Euro & WW comp (IV) was the best yet, with many memorable games.
