Well for fukks sake don't go bulling my tips up Punter. It can't be coincidene that generally, the better the class of race, the less chance there is of me picking a winner.

Year before last, I never even got a place at Chelt on the Tuesday and I don't want 26 angry pseudo Brummies chasing my ass around the course to lynch me cos they've backed my losers

Far too late ODM, the word of the "Perfect System" has been outed :o

Youll be fine mate, me and my 12 mates dont get too aggressive after a bucket full of beer and losing a pocket full of dosh off the back of somebody elses advice. I`ve always managed to maintain decent order if you disregard the odd broken digit

It will be jeffers.

Cheltenham is my "Theatre of Dreams".

Its the most beautiful sports setting on earth imho, it`s a natural ampitheatre and the acoustics are amazing considering it`s basically open air.

The roar of the crowd as the horses go round the bend at the bottom of the hill on the run in is absolutely fcuking spine tingling, especially if you`ve got a horse that`s in with a chance.

You`ll be glad you went

Ok, I've persuaded Osesame and Pootertoonz (about 95% cert) to come, Pooter is old school PL, but hasn't time to spend on PL anymore, he's a good laugh tho.

Despite the fact that I list racing as my favourite sport, I've never actually been to a race meeting :o

Can't believe Chelters is gonna be my first, it's gonna be awesome

I wouldn't get too excited Jeffers, or you may expect too much and end up disappointed.

You need to lower your expectations and that will make the experience more enjoyable. Forget the "Theatre of dreams" analogy, it's just a fukkin great big field surrounded by pissed up paddys (that's not racist is it ).

In a way, it's like approaching your first shag (but more expensive ).

Whatever you do though you MUST get out to the track for the "off" of the first race, the roar is fantastic.

It's about time we started making arrangements to meet up. It sounds like most are in the Best Mate stand. I'm assuming some will want to meet up in Cheltenham but I'll be going straight to the course (ultra early).

I think we're all in the Best Mate enclosure. There are plenty of landmarks outside but the downside of meeting there is that you aren't near the bar. What about somewhere inside the big beer tent with the band on? Isn't there a tote counter there with a bank of TV screens?

We should all make our selves instantly recognisable by wearing a white carnation and carrying a copy of "Anal fat fukkkers weekly"
Failing that, I'll be the one running around the track in front of 26 "brummies"

worrrrrr your all getting me excited

Ive never been to cheltenham and am now being sorely tempted especially with Paul's offer of a free pint. Im skint obviously it being a non giro week for me but i could maybe try to do it on the cheap.

I could take along Irish clubland to sell or would there be a better option? Maybe i could get a cheltenham dvd. It will be hot for police mind but i could be discrete and you'll all buy one wont you? Anyone got a link to the best dvd to sell that day?

I'll bunk the train so no probs with getting there. Accomodation will be tight. Any PL members local putting up PL members? Spare beds in hotel rooms be great too but i can also use the floor and peoples jackets.

Aye i could be up for this. How many are going?

theres a direct train leaving glasgow at 7.40 arriving cheltenham Spa 12.51. Handy as i used to get chucked off at places like Newcastle the business of the train will either be a good thing or bad if they want to make an example of me.

Aye could well be a happener for me.

Now you get one arranged

First time in thirteen years that I won't be going, loved every single trip, always a highlight of my year.

But a small price to pay to miss it

Have a great time all that do make it there
