Default Re: Yeah

Just hammered Roddick after he lost the 1st set - 1.47

That's possibly the biggest over-reaction I have ever seen

Default I hate myself

I feel like such a stupid sucker right now

I backed JJ at 1.85 for a decent stake when he took the second set but then got the fear when Roddick took the 3rd so I backed Roddick. I was then a small loss whichever way it went.

Once Roddick took the second I was really confident hed take it so I banged a chunky stake on Roddick so I was small plus Roddick and big loss Johansson. As the final set went along I was getting more worried but hung on to my red and green. When Roddick had break point in the penultimate game I had chance to lay off for no profit or gain either way overall but no I thought if he wins this point Im gonna make a small profit.

Then JJ holds and breaks Roddick to win :banghead Ahh fu@@@@@K!!!!!!

So my original bet backing JJ wlda fookin won! I bloody hate in running now, ive not even really used it before!

I guess weve all done stuff like this one time or another to learn from it but I feel pretty damn rough right now.

:banghead

Console me someone please

Default Proclomation

I hereby proclaim in this here post, never to touch in running betting even again.

I cant get over how stupid I feel ahhhh! :x

Maybe itll all look better in the morning. I just got myself into a right mess chasing the loss and trying to turn it right and stuff jeez. (incase anyones wondering what I lost, it was whatever your maximum stake would be and then a bit more).

I hope you didnt lose to bad on it Jeffers mate

Well certainly not good

Incredible match, I will never understand how Roddick didn't win. I hesitate to use the word "choke", but it wasn't far off.

We live to fight another day

Default US Open QF Onwards

Speaking of bad judgement i took high games in the Haas v Hewitt game and couldn't have got it more wrong. So i had an even bigger bet on low games in the Roddick match as i thought he might blow Johannson away.
Then i had a ludicrous in running bet on the NFL which was simply loss chasing.
As it turned out the Patriots sneaked it but i am frustrated at myself for betting without enough info for a strong opinion.
Anyway i thought Hewitt looked awesome tonight and he would have to be my selection now. Would appreciate the views of those who actually know what they are talking about though.
Cheers,
Ross

Yeah this is Hewitt's tournament ross, I think. He's playing sublime tennis and the odds up until now have been astounding.

Lay Federer outright to win 10pts @ 1.78 Betfair
I know he's in the Semis and he's beaten Agassi, but I really haven't been that impressed by Federer here, or infact since Wimbledon.

Lay price for Federer now down to 1.73 for those interested. He did look a bit laboured last night beating Agassi, although the swirling wind may have contributed to this. His record against Henman is not spectacular and have to agree that Hewitt has played very well all through this tournament so far.

Well, I guess there're just some things in life which you just can't prepare for... :b

Hewitt is still massive value @ 3.45 outright IMO.

Default Henman

Thought I'd mention the "H" word, as he has not been mentioned in the slightest. Now I know I am in the presence of very knowledgable tennis punters, and I presume from the very fact that he hasnt been mentioned in this thread at all means he aint got a cat in hells chance of winning the thing.. However..(and I know bugger-all about tennis) doesnt Henman has a 6-2 record against Federer? And from what I gather Federer hasnt looking totally domineering in this tournament.. 4/1 for Henman (Betfair)?

Federer has a 2-1 advantage over Henman on hardcourts, and won their last encounter 6-3 6-3 at Indian Wells. In fact, Henman's only hard court victory over Fed was indoors, where Fed seems to struggle, as 5 of Henmans victories have been indoors.
As much as I'd love to see Henman win, and although Federer hasn't been playing as well as normal, I just can't see it happening. He'd have to be playing out of his skin, and be completely injury free to have a chance IMO, and he's not either of those.

5pts Henman tb Federer @ 5.00 Betfair
Henman is playing with no pressure here - something which he has always had too much of at Wimbledon, and he did in Roland Garros too.

Federer has been fairly unimpressive in his play so far for me, and Henman has gone from strength to strength - he also has a winning record against Federer. All adds up to massive value in 5.00

Come on Tim

Default ooh

Gutsy call there Jeffers mate, I for one would love to see that happen. Id class Henman as an 11/4 shot here so there is value in the nearly 4/1.

BUT I vowed never to bet on Henman ever again as im 3 losses out of 3 on Henman backing or opposing so its a not bet for me!

If it's a sensible bet, you have to back yourself MM, that's what I think anyway...even with 3/3 losers, you have to keep on trying - the price is too good to miss
