Default Your Premiership Eleven (+ Subs)

After watching Arsenal Vs Chelsea and the first half of Liverpool Vs Portsmouth it strikes me that for all their money Chelsea still don't have either of the best two midfielders in the Premiership (IMO). This got me thinking about who my Premiership eleven would be.

GK Carlo Cudicini
DL Wayne Bridge
DC John Terry
DC Rio Ferdinand
DR Gary Neville
ML Ryan Giggs
MC Paul Scholes
MC Patrick Veira
MR Steven Gerrard
FC Thierry Henry
FC Alan Shearer

SUB1 Brad Friedal
SUB2 Ruud Van Nistleroy
SUB3 Frank Lampard
SUB4 Harry Kewell
SUB5 Philip Neville

That's my initial thoughts.

I have put subs on the bench as if I was having to cover any possibilities. For example Philip Neville isn't one of the best 16 players in the Prem but he can cover so many positions he is a great sub.

I have also picked a team that I think would play well together. For example I don't think Van the Man would be a good partner for Henry so I picked Shearer instead.

Add yours and I will do the PL's chosen 11 when we have enough entries.

Maybe. To be fair I just don't like RVN as much as most people do. I have a problem with Man Utd forwards full stop to be honest. It was like when Cole and Yorke played for them. I mean, if you get 10 chances per game you're going to score a lot aren't you?

Just how good is RVN - or would he be in a side that only created 1 or 2 chances per game? He certainly isn't doing it at International Level. I know everyone will come on and disagree with me here but I think RVN is a bit over rated.

Anyway type your 11 up you grumpy sods. :p Coming on and critising my fantastic fantasy side. Get yours up for public ridicule.

I think the main problems come down the right hand side. I'm trying to make sure that I play people in there correct position, so cannot put someone like Gerrard or Lampard out there. Also think that Neville is pretty average. Solano was also pretty close to getting into the side.

Pah. Stop crying Gettin. I think you're pretty much on the button with the 11 quoted, if a little biased towards the bigger clubs. What about an 11 without the top 4 (4th being Liverpool)? I'll post that when I've had a look.

Thierry Henry is the finest striker in the land, Van Nistelrooy does not have the all round game that Henry has and he contributes so much to the team with his work rate he is incomparable. Despite the win Arsenal sorely missed him today and Chelsea are still a long way behind both Arsenal and ManUre despite a good first half.

I reckon if you made a XI from teams outside the top 4, you could make a squad that would challenge for the title.

I dunno about Gerrard being out of position on the right Mr I. He's a great crosser of the ball and if I had the luxury of others in the middle I would play him there.

Ivan Campo

I rate him coming forward but not in defense.

..............plus he looks like a reject from Spandau Ballet.

I admit though Duff was a stupid omission . :o

Nah, it was between RVN and TH to play up front with Bergkamp.

Bergkamp (my favourite player so I'm biased) and Ruud would be perferct together imo.

Okocha not in anyones lists? Mental.

Berkamp was brilliant today but is a little old to get in my starting 11.

Jay Jay is brilliant on his day, but it that is too sporadic for my liking.
